Well apparently the OC who knew him last year is putting his livelihood on the line by giving the Coach and the GM the recommendation for hire. Lienhart did act like a spoiled child but getting beat out by a FA and then getting your shoulder broke can be a humbling experience.

Once again – he is a backup to be compared with the likes of Kyle Boller, Trent Edwards etc….

Picking a kicker in rd 1 was ALs lamest decision ever.. No excuses.

You don’t want to go down the list again do you. DeAngelo Hall and all the money he spent easily beats that decision among many others. How about the 1st for Moss when the team was in such dissarry. Since 1993 I can go on and on.

Daaaaaaaaaaang! Marks hair is on fire. Got his beyotch on!

Name calling is all you got, isn’t it?

KK I was actually paying Marks hair a rare compliment frankly.

Let the big boys play kiddo.

That conception blew up on him. Of course he could still make it as a backup, but the image of being a loser looms too large for him; he can’t overcome it.

That is what separates Plunkett and Gannon from the ordinary washed up QB. They were flumoxed, beat up, and cast off, and still held an image of greatness of themselves. They dug very deep and worked and worked, came back and went on to greater things.

I don’t disagree with that analysis but I can tell you what you wrote is very similar to something that was wrote when AD first got Plunkett by a Bay Area journalist. Plunkett before Oakland was perhaps not the biggest bust but definitively the biggest disappointment of that time. Far bigger than the fall ML had.

If given a chance Jacoby Jones would be much better than Chaz Schillens.

    That’s not saying much.

I’d have to disagree. Though everything else with the team has sucked worse than some of KK’s takes for the last ten years the kicking game of the Raiders has been stout during that time.

I remember both of these picks when they happened. All I could say is that why did he (Davis) not just trade back and pick up picks. No one was going to take Jano till the 4th and Guy until at least the 3rd so you could of got Jano in the 3rd and Guy in the 2nd or early 3rd.

    Should’a, would’a, could’a? Really?

The Texans were reportedly very disappointed by Jacoby Jones. Knapp was the QB coach there. Any reason to necessarily believe he likes Jones? Obviously familiar with him, must have an idea on his value

Leinart had lots of left (throwing) shoulder injuries/offseason surgeries in college, and I believe another early in NFL career. He actually was good as an NFL rookie (like 5-6 years ago) and then many think his Hollywood mentality got the best of him overshadowing his modest ability as an NFL QB. He since has had more injuries to throwing shoulder, latest last year after throwing like 13 passes. I think the free agent rookie took over for him after he got hurt though, not beat him out for 2nd string

    Hey Cork,

Cutting McClain would result in about 14 mil in accelerated bonus against him, while keeping him costs us 4.6 mil + 970,000 in salary. So to cut him we have to come up with about 8 mil in cap space this year.

Lechler costs almost 6 mil in cap space this year. You think there is no way he is cut?

I think you and Jerry Mac have to figure out something about the NFL salary cap if you want to stay in your current job. This crap of calling it a “myth” and pretending it doesn’t exist makes you look completely without knowledge, and frankly not so worthwhile reading.

Do your homework guys, earn your paychecks.

Man I just ask Cork today If he’d heard of us going after Cedric Benson! He’d be a SOLID backup for DMC!! And our core would look a lot better with him beside DMC,Taiwan and Goodson. Cork said he didn’t see that happening. Well low and behold Mr John CLayton said he and the Raiders are talking. SOrry Cork hope your wrong and Johny and I are right this time!!! You guys agree we’d have one of the best 1 2 punches in the backfield again???

    AutumnWind,

So what is your take on Leinart now, and also Pryor ?

  • Hardline

    TrueIndianaRaider, 460,

    IndianaRaider,

We do need to establish a 1, 2 punch similar to DMAC and Bush. We don’t have that now without Bush and when DMAC goes down we’ll be in a world of hurt.

I have heard of Cedric Benson but don’t know anything about his stats or performance. Do you think he can really do the job?

  • TrueIndianaRaider

Hardline: for sure I think he can help us. Last 3 years he’s been pretty durable 13-16 games. Been over 1000yds in the past 3 seasons!! Hasn’t avg less than 3.4 yds per carry since been in the league> This is all per ESPN stats! I definitely think he can do the job especially if were going with a second year back and a guy with not a lot of playing time!! Sign him Reggie
