Included among the scouting staff makeover for the Raiders will be the addition of Raleigh McKenzie, the twin brother of general manager Reggie McKenzie.
Sweeping changes were expecting in the department following the draft _ Reggie McKenzie hinted as much at the press conference announcing the hiring of Dennis Allen. The club confirmed Tuesday the release of Jon Kingdon a 33-year-veteran with the club.
When the Raiders finalize their scouting staff, the list also won’t include Bruce Kebric, who has been with the Raiders for 31 years.
Raleigh McKenzie played 17 seasons in the NFL, including 10 years with the Washington Redskins, and won two Super Bowl rings. He works as an elementary school special education teacher as well as a high school football coach in Herndon, Va. His role with the Raiders _ whether he’ll continue to be based in his home area or move west _ is not known.
The status of other Raiders scouts, including Calvin Branch, Zack Crockett, Angelo Coia, Kent McCloughan, Dave McCloughan and Mickey Marvin, is not known.
All have lengthy ties with the organization, either as a player, scout or both.
Tom Delaney, also of the personnel department, has been involved along with legal department staffer Dan Ventrelle in keeping coach Dennis Allen abreast of new collective bargaining issues for the offseason.
