K/P Eddy Carmona (Harding) being tried out should be a sure sign to the anti-Lechler conspiracy theorists that Lechler is sure to fall down the elevator shaft at team HQ soon so the Raiders won't have to pay his contract

and this Carmona could also be the kicker and easily do SeaBass one better and kick a 64 yarder. So he can really save a lot of money

to hell with Marquette what's his name, Carmona is the man for the Raiders for the next decade

BOOK IT... even though it's May, it's never too early to book anything regarding the opening day roster for this year...or the next decade

post 23 im 48 years old and i was a raider fan as long as i can remember as a kid he (Al Davis) had a big influence on me .he kinda guided me in life through his motto's and character (just win )(commitment to excellence )(pride and poise )it was us against the world.they became more than just a saying it was a way of life .if you were a raider you were a friend no matter what color you were or where you grew up .some of us were born silver n black and some discovered it later one thing we all had in common we were always raider fans win or lose didnt matter but we never jumped the bandwagon .so as far as your 1.2.3.there is a number 4 WIN LOSE OR TIE SOME OF US ARE RAIDER FANS TILL WE DIE .true the last few years were tough but it didnt change a true fan

why would an undrafted rookie kicker or punter be here ?either they have no idea who our kickers are ,or its just something to do this weekend.of all the places to get a foot in the door this would be the last place i would go .seems like a waste of time for them

It's a nice thought to want to move on into the future and not talk about Al Davis anymore but it's inevitable that he will continue to be blamed (by many) for years if the Raiders fail and there will also be those who attribute alot of the success for the "groundwork" laid by Al prior to his passing.

It's just the way it is.

I see Priests point. In addition to posts here i’ve seen media articles about the closed sessions and how it speaks to the ‘creepy, secretive world of Al Davis’.

Alta Vista Sports:

“There seems to be (3) camps as to Al Davis:

1)-Al is a true legend. He wasn’t perfect but he always had the best interests of the org. at heart. In fact, he was on his way back. Draft genius til the day he died. Wasn’t his fault players didn’t perform.

2)-Al “stole” the Raiders from Wayne Valley. He was a miscreant from the start….pure evil. Any success Raiders had was due to the luck of having Ron Wolf and other advisors there to bail him out. A cruel, selfish dictatator, who in the end was a victim of dementia, as well as his ego in letting a once proud organization slip into non-relevance and mockery.

3)-Al was a great football mind. A true legend of the league who played an integral part in the NFL as it is today. 3 SB’s in 7 yr. span preceeded by numerous playoff appearances and division titles gave the Raiders the best winning percentage in sports history. Al’s main fault was stubbornly hanging on to total control of the org. when it was obvious the need was there to have others play more integral roles for the betterment of the org. In short, Al was/is a legend who kind of lost it in his final years.

Seems that everyone falls primarily into one of the above categories.”

===========================================

4) the sooner Dennis Allen and Reggie McKenzie get to the playoffs and advance th e sooner we can move on from the above.

time to turn the page - the worst stretch of football in years was on exhibition from 2003-2007 and quite frankly beyond that stretch as well. The Niners nearly advanced to the SB and shamed every Raider fan with a gutsy performance and upset over the powerhouse N.Orleans Saints. And they did so with a punishing defense.

Enough about Al Davis. New legends MUST emerge.
