By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Monday, May 14th, 2012 at 9:49 am in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders announced the signing of seven free agents who attended the recent rookie minicamp on a tryout basis:

Eddy Carmona (5-10, 203) P/K – Harding: A native of Monterrey, Mexico, grew up in Arkansas and played at Central Arkansas until transferring to Harding prior to his senior campaign, 2011. Last season, handled both punting (38.3 avg.) and kicking duties for his team, hitting 46-of-49 PATs and 10-of-13 field goals, including 3-for-4 from 50-plus range.

Wayne Dorsey (6-6, 272) DE – Mississippi: Played two years at Mississippi after transferring from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. As a senior, started six games and recorded a team-high three sacks despite having season cut short due to a broken arm sustained against Alabama.

Kyle Efaw (6-4, 247) TE – Boise State: Played four years at Boise State, seeing action in 53 games and recording 103 receptions for 1,269 yards and 13 touchdowns. Played in all 13 games with eight starts as a senior, totaling 31 receptions for 264 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns.

Kevin Haslam (6-5, 304) T – Rutgers: Another former basketball player as a 195-pound senior in high school, saw action at both guard and tackle as a college offensive lineman, and started the final 26 games of his career. Signed with Jacksonville as a non-drafted free agent in 2010, then missed the 2011 NFL campaign with a knee injury.

LeQuan Lewis (5-11, 187) CB – Arizona State: In training camp with the Tennessee Titans last season after signing as an undrafted free agent. Played two years at both cornerback and wide receiver at Arizona State, seeing action in 22 games and recording one interception.

TréShawn Robinson (5-11, 246) FB – Idaho: A four-year letterman as a linebacker, started at least one game each season. Led the Vandals in 2011 with 117 tackles as a 12-game starter, including a career-high 20 stops against Utah State. Also registered a pair of sacks and four forced fumbles as a senior.

Travionte Session (6-2, 191) WR – Nevada: Played in 42 games in four years at Nevada, hauling in 71 passes for 978 yards and six touchdowns. Recorded 23 catches for 291 yards with one touchdown as a senior last season.

    Morning RR, O, Duck, hwnrdr, KK, Nation.!

    Who is faster, Criner or Zach Miller?

    What’s up Raccoon?

    ::::::::::

    Same ol my Raider brother.

    So, O,RR, if Criner is faster than Miller, and can grasp the nuances of the NFL he looks like an outstanding pick. I am really starting to warm up to our WR group. More, DHB, Ford, Criner??
    This is the first year in a few I really don’t think we “need” a vet WR for these guys. Maybe a vet TE though.

    IMO, we drafted 3 starters. The 26 YO rookie better start, Burris is a beast and my favorite pick, and Criner was the BPA. Huge hands, and catches everything in his radius.

    well since I have to work full-time, i’m sort of limited to a weekend hunter. Then Sundays I go to church and teach Sunday School for 30 high school kids. So really, once a week during turkey season. Then one of those Saturdays my wife had a 10am bridal shower to attend. frustrating. Didn’t see anything but hens in my first few outings. Everybody else in the family was killing big gobblers during the week. was starting to wonder if I’d strike out. Saturday (May 5th?) I went out and it was all or nothing. morning broke and I heard gobblin’ quite a ways away. Never like to leave the place I set up that early when turkeys can see you before they fly down into the field. Decided to do it anyway and was able to sneak up on one. Killed probably a 19-21 pounder with an 11 inch beard. no spurs! (broke them off, fighting?). probably a 2 years old turkey, very tender. I am pleased. Always love to have meat in the freezer, from animals I killed!

    You shouldn’t be worried at all. CP3 doesn’t throw to his TE’s anyway. We just need them to block and occasionally make that catch thrown their way.

    Carson Palmer: Raiders, Bengals both won in last year’s trade

    Posted by Michael David Smith on May 14, 2012, 10:56 AM EDT

    Reuters
    After the dust has settled in an NFL trade, there’s a tendency to declare one team the winner and one team the loser. Carson Palmer says that’s not the right way to look at his trade from the Bengals to the Raiders last year.

    Instead, Palmer said on the Dan Patrick Show that the Raiders benefited from getting him, the Bengals benefited from moving on, and both teams should be happy that they made the trade.

    “In years to come, both organizations will look back and say this is the best thing that could have happened,” Palmer said.

    Palmer has to hope that becomes the case, because right now it looks like the Bengals got the better end of the deal: The Bengals drafted their quarterback of the future in Andy Dalton after Palmer said he wouldn’t return to Cincinnati, then they traded Palmer to Oakland in exchange for the first-round pick they used this year on cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, plus a conditional pick next year that will be either a first- or second-round selection. Right now the Bengals have to be thrilled with how things turned out.

    This season Palmer will try to make the Raiders thrilled with how things turned out, too.

Can’t have more than 3 shells in your shotgun. Any of these violations could result in you losing your heritage card [you get this after passing the hunter safety course], which allows you to buy the hunting permit.

    Spark in Sales of Cars and Trucks Drives U.S. Economy

    By Shobhana Chandra and Timothy Homan – May 13, 2012 4:01 PM PT

    Car sales that are running at the fastest pace in four years are poised to reverberate through the world’s largest economy as a spillover into production, profits and jobs for Americans may be starting.

    Auto purchases have exceeded a 14 million annual rate in each month this year, the strongest performance since early 2008, according to Ward’s Automotive Group. Government data show motor-vehicle output contributed half of the first quarter’s 2.2 percent economic growth.

    General Motors Co. (GM), the world’s largest automaker last year, boosted its 2012 industry-sales forecast, Ford Motor Co. (F) will add factory shifts and Chrysler Group LLC is stepping up hiring as demand rises. The resurgence — from assembly lines and dealerships to steelmakers, freight lines and loan providers — signals the U.S. is headed for lasting, robust growth, says Joseph Carson, director of global economic research at AllianceBernstein LP in New York.
    ==================================================

    Please remember that the conservatives opted to let the American Auto industry die on the vine. If we would have allowed that, unemployment would be over 20% right now, with little options on how to quickly revive the economy. Conservative policies are disasterous.

    dam, what size is your vehicle? lol

  95. RaiderRockstar Says:

    Actually,

    Boss only played in 9 games with Palmer last year.

    20 catches for 208 yards & 2 TD’s in those games.

    Your starting TE should expect a max of 3 catches per game (on average) with Carson Palmer at QB!!

    25 yards per game and 1 TD every 4 or 5 starts = no fantasy value for any Raider TE’s in 2012

    How did you cook the meat anyways?

    ***

    @HB

    haven’t cooked any yet. I just breasted it out, cut it up and threw it in the freezer.

    I usually bread it & fry it like chicken

    ::::::::::

    Soak it in this, it is awesome on Wild Turkey:

    1 c of Soy
    1 fat tbl ground Ginger
    1/2 c sesame oil
    1/2 c brown sugar
    1/2 c water
    As many chopped up Garlic cloves you like.

    Let marinade over night or at least 4 hours

    Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

    BBQ directly over WHITE HOT coals for about 5-10 per side depending on thickness.

    Do not over cook it, it doesn’t take long.

    Try this on deer, try adding green onion too.

    RR,

    I said he knows the value of a TE. Miller was a beast when Knapp was here, and Houston’s TE was their most consistent weapon behind Johnson and Foster.

    ^^^^^^^
    I hope Knapp does. Remmember people, he wasn’t the play caller in Houston, he was just the QB coach.
