Is this version the Directors cut? Or, does it at least have the bloopers, at the end when the credits roll?

Slowlondo McCheesy has had a history of this behavior dating all the way back to his college days. Thuggish, hood rat, stupid, moronic, dense, borderline retarded, call it whatever you want.

It has no place in the new organization. You see how many LBs they have in camp this year? There is a good shot he could be gone this year.

I understand why Raider fans are attempting to defend Slow or at least downplay the significance of this ‘incident’.

No one wants the 8th overall pick in the draft turn out to be a bust due to immaturity, lack of commitment or character issues.

No one wants to see Slow perform poorly on Sundays.

Yet that’s exactly what the Raids have gotten out of Slow so far.

We’ve seen the lack of hustle. We’ve seen the incredibly inept Stafford whiff at the most crucial, game determining time.

We’ve got to wonder why Slow needed an entire week away from practice and the team to supposedly attend a funeral, only to be arrested for this absurd thuggery.

This kind of nonsense is intolerable and indefensible.

Now we’ve got to deal with the very real possibility that Slow will be suspended and not be available to play.

And on top of all that, there’s now also the durability and health concerns.

Can Slow turn it around ? Sure.

Will he turn it around ? I wouldn’t bet on it.

At this point, Slow should be regarded as a complete bust. He is not a player the Raids can count on for making any contribution.

Slow was drafted to be the cornerstone of the defense.

He’s been nothing but an immense disappointment.

My guess is that even if he is found not guilty and somehow manages to avoid a suspension, we’ll see the same lackluster play or maybe even a trip to the IR list.

I’ve moved on from Slow. Unless there’s a near miraculous turn of events, it’s probably in the Raids best interest to do so as well.

We’ve got to accept the reality that stories and careers that start out like this rarely turn out well.

Raids need reliable contributors, not headaches.

    99,

I have not seen one person justify McClain actions that night.

He clearly could have made better decisions..

But to jump all the way to he needs to be cut is not good business. The only way he needs to be cut is if he is not one of the 5 best LBs on the team. It’s as simple as that. I have a hard time believing that we all of a sudden have 3 LBs on the team better than 55. And that’s not to say he is some pro bowler or anything. But I haven’t seen anything to suggest Goethel or some converted rookie are better options in the middle of our defense than 55.

  14. alex7 Says:

    JHill

rational, unemotional talk like yours is rarely welcomed in here :)

Agreed that it makes little sense to cut Rolando until we find a guy that’s at least average at MLB.

It won’t take much, but right now we don’t have that luxury yet.

  15. R8ER MIKE Says:

IMO. This is wake up call. He will be a BEAST this season. He has a lot to prove this season if for nothing more then to quiet his critics. I hope he will learn and grow from this and become the next Ray Lewis. Then again I am home and high as a kite so ………

  16. DonManoukiansNeighbor Says:

I hope he’s a beast as well and I’m sitting at home 40 pounds over weight drinking a soda.

  17. 8RaiderReign8 Says:

To be honest I don’t think the video is that bad… It looks like a regular scuffle and a one-on-one fight which is pretty respectable considering the situation (the hood)

  18. alex7 Says:

McClain is either football dumb or just socially dumb.

If he’s football dumb, he won’t realize that this new regime has little patience for him and his long-term financial security is about to disappear if he doesn’t get it together.

If he’s just socially maladjusted, he’ll play his a%% off this year knowing how much is riding on the results.

We’ll learn alot about him this season, one way or another.

  19. 8RaiderReign8 Says:

Looks to me like he was like Ray-Ray. Wrong place Wrong time. Just hope he learns and grows from all of this.

  25. RaiderLen Says:

By the looks of the video, the “plaintiff” was the aggressor, by initiating the fight.

The fellas that witnessed His ass beating actually pulled the “defendant” off, and discouraged the kicking acts.

It doesn’t show Romac, so I have no opinion as to what transpired with Him.

    Did I miss anything?

  26. guest123 Says:

Total agreement with Raiderman99 on RoMac

It’s time to cut the losses. Time to move on from the hope that he’s going to someday adjust. Time to recruit rookies and free agents and groom them to take over. Even if he’s not the 5th worst LB on the team, he will be shortly if Reggie keeps cycling in new talent. It’s only a matter of time till he gets his walking papers. Just like J Russell.

  27. lefty12 Says:

He was 22 and supposedly screwed up.Big deal. All that should matter to any of us is how he plays. My original question was why wasn’t he at this weeks OTAs when his court hearing wasn’t until Thursday and he isn’t even required to attend that?BTW,is saying someone is acting like a street punk racist?

  28. R8ER MIKE Says:

As far as cutting Slow, obviously that’s something you want to avoid doing unless you have an adequate replacement in place.

  34. RaiderLen Says:

Romac has to play His way off the roster, provided other issues don’t sideline Him.

I don’t get the sense that He’s a distraction at work, so as long as He shows up and performs better than other potential replacements, he’ll have a Job.

Dude is young. Hopefully it works out.

  35. guest123 Says:

I know it’s probably exaggeration, but I personally blame RoMac for that Miami beatdown the following Sunday. All that week was a media circus and Hue was in full spin mode not answering whether or not McClain would play. The team as a whole came out flat and got mauled by a bottom of the barrel QB in Miami’s Moore. We were still in the thick of the playoff chase back then and we needed that game badly.

So it may go to far, but I blame RoMac for his actions and letting the team down and causing the disruption to team continuity and focus if only for that week.

Yes, it is. The GM’s too.

The GM and coaching staff would have to be completely incompetent not to be concerned about Slow’s future as a Raider and making every effort to prepare for that eventuality, should it come to pass.

The truth is Slow would probably have already been released if not for his guaranteed money and lofty draft status.

The lack of hustle, poor play, character issues, legal problems and looming durability issues would have been the ticket out of town for virtually any other player.

Slow gets another chance. Personally, I don’t think he deserves it or will make the most of it.

Either way, it’s imperative that Reggie and the staff make preparations for life without Slow.

Slow might not be available – even if the Raids haven’t come to the conclusion that it’s in the organization’s best interest to move on from him.

The guy was injured. Sat out the Denver game, saw how we got chewed up without him, took a shot, sucked it up and played the rest of the season.

Played hurt in the Houston game.

I don’t think guys like that can be called lazy.

I don’t think Romac is Lazy. (Devil’s advocate)

  93. arkraider Says:

Monumental first round busts happen to all teams, not just the Raiders. That’s why most sane people refer to the draft as a crap shoot. You win some and you lose some. It happens to all 32 teams. I think that if we can come up with a suitable replacement for 55, Romac will find himself on the next train out of town. His lackluster play coupled with his off field distractions will purchase the ticket, but only when a replacement is found. I hope he turns it around but I have very little hope of that happening. But if he’s the best we can obtain this year then we’ll have to roll with him. If he doesn’t change and make improvements on and off the field I doubt he will be wearing the silver and black next year. But it seems very likely that he’s ours this year because even with all his problems he’s likely the best we can do this year.

I hope he can turn it around, but I’m not holding my breath.

Yeah its for real. It would be kinda awkard now if we do end up bringing in TO, but there would have to be some serious injuries before I see that happening

I think if a team gets TO they’l be getting a guy who has been humbled by the lack of interest and would give a ton of effort to prove people wrong. But…we seem to have a pretty decent receiving corps already so I guess we can survive w/o him.

Just out of curiosity where did this talk of Sanchez coming to Oakland come from? Guys were talking about that earlier today.

Dunno but makes perfect sense. Tebow the new man in town, Sanchez outta the spotlight, all the Jets fans are gonna be screamin for Tebow like they did in Denver, cept louder. But RegMac gotta a Jets guy here in personell and can you imagine a trio of USC QBs’? We could run Trojan offense (please no) and the press would eat it up. Sanchez would definately be #2. It will happen.

Why is everybody so surprised that he hasn’t shined at MLB. Just because he was a 1st round pick doesn’t mean he’ll be successful. Think back, JaLoser. In Romac’s case, he’s an ILB in a 3-4 NOT a MLB. If they switch to a 3-4, he’ll do just fine. If not, he’ll be adequate until they find a real 4-3 MLB.

Reggie is giving this kid one last year as the QB of defense. If he wasn’t he would have signed a couple of decent MLB free agents early. He didn’t which supports my assertion.

The thing that gets me is how arrogant Slow is when it comes to how he treats fans or reporters. This points to his stupidity since that’ll only increase the pressure from the raider nation to push out of town.

    Grog,

I doubt Reggie wants Sanchez and I doubt NY fans want Tebow as a first stringer. I think NY fans are tired of underperformance of QB’s the past few years. Tebow has that cramped left handed throw, and doubt he will straighten it out soon, even with “God’s” assistance.

He looked totally lost playing the Pat’s that fielded a a so-so defensive in the playoff game.

The last thing Reggie wants is another USC prima donna like Sanchez who can’t get past his college stardom and make it in the bigs.

  192. Bob Marley Says:

Seems that Knapp has adjusted his offense and plans to install Houston’s version of the WCO, I think that’s great news, love the way Kubiak runs it.

“Palmer’s West Coast cram sessions included several incarnations of the scheme.

However, a primary focus was the 2010 and 2011 Houston Texans.

Palmer watched every game the team played the past two seasons.”

I’m not a “West Coast Offense” expert by any means but Kubiak’s version is closer to Mike Shanahan’s, it’s based on a strong running game featuring ZBS blocking, play-action passing, bootleg and more shots down the field.

When looking at the WCO coaching tree, 2 coaches stand out Mike Shanahan and Mike Holmgreen, Kubiak learned from Shanny while Knapp learned from Mariucci who learned from Holmgreen, he ran a more conservative version with shorter routes designed to make yards after the catch.

I hope Knapp’s experience in Houston (and Shanny’s offense) leads him to craft an improved version of his own.

  202. GG Says:

Over the past few seasons the Raiders have been working to build a solid corps of receivers. Several times over those seasons they have thought they had a group with which they could succeed. But it never seemed complete and each year they were yet again looking to fill a void through the draft or free agency. That missing piece at wide receiver may just be Eddie McGee.

To say McGee has flown under the radar would be an understatement. He came to the Raiders as an inexperienced, unheralded, undrafted free agent and earned his way onto the team’s practice squad last season.

    Star-divide

He never got the call to join the team last season and was eligible for the rookie minicamp last week. But he had a hamstring strain and was relegated to rehabbing. It was to be his first as a Raider because when he was originally signed, there was a lockout going on.

Then Monday came the first OTA and he could only watch as the rookies and veterans got to show their stuff. Most notably rookie Juron Criner who put on a show, making several acrobatic catches. Criner is someone with whom McGee is in direct competition for a spot in the Raiders’ deep receiver rotation. And McGee can only watch.

“Sitting back and watching is hard.” Said McGee. “I hate watching practice and not being involved. I hate watching. Last year, I mean, I didn’t hate it but every time you see somebody out there, not necessarily your teammates but other guys, you watch practice or just watch games in general, you wanna be out there. I have a long memory so I’m sitting there watching plays and making [mental] notes and waiting for my chance to get back out there.”

McGee has been waiting a while to find his niche as a football player. The former quarterback didn’t play a single snap at wide receiver in high school and didn’t make the switch until his senior season in college. He was recruited to Illinois as a quarterback but was relegated to a few wildcat plays in games for his first three seasons there. Then he made the tough decision to switch to receiver as he thought it was in the best interest of his future in football.

“At this level the more you can do, the more valuable you are,” said McGee. “So I just thought, I talked to my coaches, my family and everything, and just had a conversation that the more valuable you are, the more you can do, the better chance you have of being successful and making it to this level and making a stand at this level.

“I’m the type of guy that’s just all about the team. Doesn’t matter if I have to go and play H-back, I don’t care, I’ll do it.”

The transition to receiver is one that has been asked of many athletic former quarterbacks. Those who are more successful have been known to resist the idea. Recent examples would be Tim Tebow and current Raider Terrelle Pryor. But the transition is often a very successful one. Some examples include Hines Ward and former Raider Ronald Curry.

McGee sees his quarterback experience gives him a decided advantage as a receiver.

“I kinda look at the game as a receiver from a quarterback’s perspective. Knowing what coverages and what the quarterback should be thinking on that play. Just knowing hots and those type of responsibilities helps a lot too. So I think that my quarterback history helps me as a receiver.”

But uncovering a guy like McGee, who was a little-used quarterback in college with limited experience as a receiver, isn’t easy.

Then to make matters worse, any opportunity to impress upon an NFL team would have to wait for the 2011 NFL lockout to end… and he had no way of knowing just how long it would take.

As the lockout dragged on, McGee watched as there was no post-draft flurry of undrafted free agent signings along with no rookie minicamp. Then OTA’s were lost and minicamps. It wasn’t until just as training camp was to begin that a deal was struck. And that’s when the long wait ended and his phone rang.

“I came out the lockout just waiting to get a call, my agent was on the phone with teams… The Raiders were very interested. I felt like it was a good situation to go into and just made that decision.”

At the time McGee arrived, the Raiders had another receiver in Chaz Schilens of whom they had been hoping would be the big red zone target they needed. But Schilens was rarely healthy enough to play and the team had reached the end of their patience with him.

McGee is being seen as a strong candidate to be the kind of receiver Schilens was supposed to be for the Raiders. The hamstring tweak aside, McGee is seen as a guy that can bring the level of talent Schilens had, sans the injuries.

“I appreciate it, It’s a great comparison. Chaz is a great player, he’s a great guy. But I’m just out here trying to do my own thing. Everybody’s going to have their expectations and I appreciate that but I try not to feed into what other guys think. I’m just out here trying to be productive.”

“I’m just a guy, hard working guy, blue collar guy, make the plays when they’re supposed to be made, when they need to be made. [If the] ball’s thrown my way, catch it and just do my job. I’m the type of guy who just goes out there, balls to the wall, full speed every play. Just doing my job, catch everything, block whoever.

“I think I can do it all– speed, hands, jump ball. You know I think I got all the SS, all the tools. You know, like I said, when a pass is thrown to me, it’s my job to make the play so I do.”

McGee wasn’t always this confident in his abilities as a receiver. He worked hard to get here. He admits he was very raw coming into camp last offseason and credits Raiders’ former wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal (now with the Jets) for his development. The fact that, despite how raw he was, the team still kept him around on the practice squad, is a strong indication of the level of potential he possesses.

He progressed through last season but was looking for ways to continue to get even better in the offseason.

“I talked to Carson before the end of the season saying I would like to work out with him just because that’s a great quarterback. The more I can learn from him the better I can be so I hit him up, he told me he was gonna be in LA so I flew straight out there.”

“There was a couple of other guys down there, [Denarius Moore] came out, [Darrius Heyward-Bey], came out. I was out there, Dave [Ausberry] was out there too… I was out there for about a month, man. Just trying to learn as much as I can from him and workout and just finding my craft… We worked out about three times a week. We picked it up as we got closer to reporting here”

In addition to his working on his receiving skills, he has also packed on a few pounds of muscle mass. According to the 6-3 receiver, he has gone from his weight last season of 208 pounds to 215 pounds. It shows too. A lanky receiver in last year’s camp, he has now filled out his 6-3 frame and looks more like a receiver than a quarterback.

The wide receivers who are virtual locks to make this Raiders team are Denarius Moore, Darrius Heyward-Bey, and Jacoby Ford. Juron Criner is this year’s draft pick and has looked fantastic thus far. If the team keeps five receivers, the final spot is between McGee and Louis Murphy. After that, there are a few other hopefuls including Duke Calhoun and UDFA’s Rod Streater and Thomas Mayo.

Before and after OTA practice last week, McGee ran light sprints and agility drills to work out and test his tweaked hamstring. He says it is all just precautionary and give him no pain.

His waiting and watching period will end soon and the coaches and the rest of us can finally catch a glimpse of the receiver the Raiders have been hoping will be something special.

People often questioning McClain’s (22) maturity, attitude, judgement etc, need only to look at Ray Lewis back then, he was 25 and already a superstar, that didn’t stop him from hanging out with the wrong crowd and making extremely poor decisions.

Thank you for pointing out again that there are different “versions” to the WCO and how the ZBS is “crafted” and implemented.

Each “version” seems to have the name of the person who created the version attached to it.

Hence the “Holmgren WCO” or “Shanahan ZBS” etc. etc.

I’m thinking we’ll see something that could be referred to as the “Knapp ZBS” or more specifically the “Knapp ZBS-Raider version”. It won’t actually be called that but I think we’ll see an offense specifically geared for the players we have and their abiities and strengths…as Knapp has alluded to.

DMAC is a unique gamebreaker. Not everyone has a guy like that.

Tyvon Branch Says Things In Oakland Are Different This Year and the Defense Is Looking to Redeem Itself

    May 16, 2012 – 9:20 am by Chris Fedor

The fact that Al Davis won’t be around in Oakland isn’t the only thing that will be different for the Raiders in 2012 and beyond. After yet another disappointing season and another season where Oakland ended up watching the playoffs from home, the Raiders brought in a whole new regime. Reggie McKenzie was brought over from Green Bay to serve as the team’s new General Manager and his first hire of a head coach was former Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. While Allen’s hiring didn’t capture a lot of headlines, it looks like it was the right hire for the Raiders and for want they want to be. A season ago, the Raiders gave up over 27 points per game and were one of the worst defensive teams in the NFL. If they want to re-commit to excellence it has to start with an attitude change and a toughness that has been lacking the last few seasons. Perhaps Allen can change that.

Dennis Allen joined 95.7 the Fan in San Francisco with John Lund to talk about how the new players look, if Dennis Allen is paying more attention to the defensive side of the ball because of his background, whether a long-term deal will get done after getting franchised this offseason, on the struggles on defense a season ago and how different things are with all the changes.

On how the new players look:

“Everybody is looking good. I’m excited. We’ve got a new defense, guys are out there making plays, been attacking the ball and I’m excited about it.”

If Dennis Allen is paying more attention to the defensive side of the ball because of his background:

“He’s been keeping an eye on both sides but he’s a defensive minded coach so he’s been paying a little more attention to us I think. It’s hard to get a gauge on it. Today was my first day of OTA’s so it’s hard for me to get a gauge on him. He’s a good coach and it seems like he knows what he’s doing.”

Whether he would like to get a long-term deal done after getting franchised:

“I hope so. I try to stay out of that. That’s what I’ve got my agent for. I’m just focusing on the football side of things so I hope something gets worked out but if not, it’s a business and I understand that. I’m just here to make plays and win games.”

On how bad the defense was a season ago:

“We struggled so we definitely want to go out there and redeem ourselves. We have some new guys in here and it’s a whole new year. We can’t dwell on last year, we just have to stay focused and push forward. Everybody buy into this new defense and we have to go out there and execute.”

On how different things are now with the passing of Al Davis:

“It’s definitely different. I’m not going to say it’s better or worse but it’s definitely different and these guys have us running a lot more and the tempo of practice is a little faster so it’s definitely different. (Host: How different is it off-the-field and around the facility without Al Davis?) It’s a little different. Like I said all new coaches. I don’t think it’s just the passing of Mr. Davis. I think it’s the whole new coaching staff and everything changing from top to bottom, even new strengths coaches. It’s just a different feel in the whole building.”

Why? Because he is half his size and he can?

“I hope so” doesn’t sound like we’re working on it or we hit a snag in negotiations. Perhaps Bcz is correct in that nothing is in the works and it’s simply not a priority to Reggie?

  279. John David Booty Says:

Good stuff, don’t know if this was posted:

The Oakland Raiders took the field for the second day of Organized Team Activities (OTAs). These were the first set of practices to include the rookies and the veterans and gave the players an opportunity to work on plays and chemistry on the field. “I’ve liked our effort,” said Head Coach Dennis Allen. “I think our guys are flying around, they’re working hard. What we preach is to get a little better every day which is what they’re doing, so I am pleased with the guys’ effort.”
“It’s just the second OTA, but just a really good chance for us to come out and work on all of the little things we’ve been working on in practice and the meetings and the playbooks,” said QB Carson Palmer. “Just a chance to really get on the field and run around and make some plays.”
Palmer continues to be excited about working with RB Darren McFadden, who was injured during in the same game in which Palmer debuted. “He caught a screen today and did something that probably not anybody else in the league can do,” said Palmer. “You can’t watch him, in my position [as quarterback]. You’ve got to go through your possession, your footwork, your hand placements, and then do the bootlegs and not turn around to see what he does. That’s the hardest thing for me right now, is you want to watch him because he’s so electrifying and he can do so many different things. It’s been great to work with him.”
McFadden has moved past his injury and is excited to be back out with his teammates, running full speed. “I’m going out there playing like it never happened,” said McFadden. “I’m not going to worry about it. My thing is just go out there and play hard. I can’t control the things that happen when you get tackled; I just go out there and play hard every play.”
In addition to working with McFadden and the veteran receivers, Palmer was particularly impressed with the Raiders fifth round draft pick out of Arizona, WR Juron Criner. “Made a couple great catches,” said Palmer. “I think he proved that if you give him a chance, he’ll go up and get it. So he’s an exciting young guy. It makes other guys at the same position realize that there’s going to be a lot of competition there. So the thing he has to do is continue that and carry that through the rest of these OTAs.”
Criner impressed the veterans and the coaches during practice. “I think every day he gets a little bit better,” said Coach Allen. “He’s learning more what to do, so I was pleased with the way he practiced today. It’s not a whole lot different than what we saw on him on tape in college. So that’s what we expect out of him.”
Criner was confident after the second day of OTAs and wants to have the same success every practice with the Silver and Black. “I feel like it was a good practice, but that sets the tone for how I need to practice the rest of the time here, years to come,” said Criner.
Palmer emphasized to Criner the importance of not being content with one good practice, but using it as a standard set for every practice. “That right there sets the standards,” said Criner. “You expect nothing less from yourself, and [Carson Palmer] was just telling me if you go a practice without making a play, you should be mad at yourself because you expect to do that day in and day out.”
Criner is taking full advantage of his time with Palmer and listening to his advice. “He’s just been bringing me along,” explained Criner. “You know he’s been around for awhile, he’s seen plenty of young players that show up and think they arrive and then they start to fade out. He was telling me that I need to have that consistency, day in and day out.”
Veteran DT Tommy Kelly sees potential in a few of the other Raiders rookies, draft picks DT Christo Bilukidi and DE Jack Crawford. “They’re big and raw. They’re young boys,” said Kelly. “The more they play, the more they’ll pick it up. I was trying to tell them today just put your hands on somebody. You’re 6’5”, 6’6”, 320-something pounds. Might as well use it. It looks like they have the tools to play on this level.”
The team was encouraged by the fact that it was a seemingly penalty-free practice. “The good thing is there wasn’t a lot of false starts and silly penalties, and that’s something that coach came in on the first day and really harped on,” said Palmer. “We’re not going to beat ourselves; we’re not going to give up the yardage that we’ve given up in the past. It’s good to see that we’re changing up snap counts and doing different looks and formations. Penalty-free day and that’s always good, but a lot of football to go, a lot of OTAs left and a lot of work to do.”
Coach Allen has a lot he wants to accomplish during OTAs with the overall goal of getting better each day. “I’m looking for guys that know what to do, they know how to do it, how we’re coaching them to do it, and they can execute it under pressure,” said Coach Allen. “So our guys are doing a good job, they’re working hard to try to get better. That’s really, at the end of the day, that’s what we’re focused on.

If this latest allegation is true, I don’t think anybody would even give us a 7th-rounder for him. Threatening a defendant before a trial is crossing the line into “too stupid to live” territory. Who would want that on on their team?

Right. He will tell me how I am ‘boasting’ of my customers product or something… lol

Im not trying to sell anything, I just saw a few people mention pools being expensive, and pools are my business. Thought I could hook some of my nation brethran up! I get no compensation for it.

  343. guest123 Says:

I think that’s the answer: Put him as a healthy scratch for all 16 games and a warning to the others. It’d be worth the developmental spot that would open up at ILB for somebody.

  344. Raider O Says:

Thank you Bcz. I appreciate the info and your help.

  345. Dakota Says:

Might want to wait and see if McClain is convicted before talking about how long he will be suspended.

I know the NFL has suspended players like Pacman Jones without convictions, but I don’t think Slowlando has the type of history for that to happen…..maybe next time he pulls this crap, but not this time if he isn’t convicted.

I thought Rapethisburger was the only player ever suspended before a conviction?

Romac’s pending charges aren’t very severe in the state of Alabama. I doubt if he gets more than 4 games, and he may get as few as only 1 or 2 games. The Raiders can tack their 4 games on to whatever Goodell levies though.

So based on bama law, how much time can he get?
How much is it going to cost him in lawyer fees etc to get off?

  361. bcz24 Says:

McClain’s charges in the Al I think don’t even carry jail time…. He will be back in the NFL by october. As much as we dislike his character, he is still an NFL calibur player, and plenty of teams could find a spot for him, IF we even cut him

    @Bcz

I think you’re right. Worst case scenario would be a 5 game suspension, reduced to 3 games after an appeal with the NFLPA

If there were no jail time involved, why did his co-defendant (who was charged with less serious crimes) just plead out to 90 days in jail?

  365. RaiderDuck Says:

    New post.

  366. bcz24 Says:

Looks like McClains co-defendant actually got 90 days for the assault charge, but I think even the plaintiff stated originally that McClain didn’t hit him, he just threatened him and held the gun to his head. I guess we will find out in a few hours.

  367. Thec Says:

Until we get a suitable replacement i am not cutting anybody including McCheese. Hopefully one of the guys we have emerge as a viable replacement…

  368. Dakota Says:

Slowlando can still get out of this….the jury will be told that his “friend” just cut a deal, so his testimony will be looked upon skeptically. Especially if he told the police a different story at the begining, it will impeach his credibility as a witness.

The “victim” has a financial incentive to blame Slowlando, so his testimony is shaky too….and I am willing to bet the “victim” might have some prior history that might impeach his credibility
    too.

Slowlando still has decent chance, just from what is being reported.

Now, the state might have other witnesses from that night too that have not been reported on…..then he might be sunk.

I am still shocked that firing a gun near someone’s head is just a misdemeanor lol….in most places that is aggravated assault. It would be an attempt by physical menace with a deadly weapon to put another in fear of imminent serious bodily harm.
