McClain’s statement to media

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 at 1:42 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain emerged from the locker room and gave a 36-second statement regarding his legal issues:

“I’m aware of the bad publicity that I’ve given the Raiders. I’ve talked to coach Allen, I have the support of the Raiders, my teammates, as well as the coaching staff. I apologize for the bad publicity that’s been put out there, but I mean, it is a legal process so I can’t talk much about it. But I think in due time, the Raiders and the Raider fans that are out there, it is what it is, I can’t really talk much about it. But it will be resolved in the near future.”

McClain took no questions.

    Deuce,

Mike Brown and SVG are the same guy.

Someone who doesn’t have a ring so the players get all diva on them.

Lakers could have been up 3-1 but Kobe wants to be “the guy” in the last 2 minutes, and there goes the game. SVG was going to stop Kobe from trying to be the man the last 2 minutes against Durant and his 7 foot wingspan? You’re on crack if you think that’s the case.

Lakers need a Deron Williams type if Kobe is going to stay more than they need a coaching change. Someone who is not scared to look off Kobe and throw the ball inside to the Bigs. Someone who can make guys like Westbrook and Tony Parker play defense instead of outscoring and outplaying our PG so bad.

You’re clueless about the Lakers If you’re trying to tell me Mike Brown was the problem.

    —-

I didnt say he was THE problem. He is just a part of it.

Bottom line. Period. He is NOT a head coach.

He is the Norv Turner of the NBA.

SVG is known in the NBA for his knowledge, ability etc. He burned his bridge is the only reason he got fired. Common knowledge.

Gasol gots to go he’s damaged goods, Bynum needs an azz beatin I mean attitude adjustment. It looks like Kobe doesn’t like Bynum and ignores him a lot, bynum sences it too and gives no effort instead of bustin his azz and playing hard. If he didn’t mope around and just crashed the boards and blocked shots there would be less tension. Bynum isn’t hungry anymore and gasol is gone.

    ++++++++++++++++++

Replace Kobe with a star PG who is willing to feed Gasol and Bynum on the blocks = much closer to a title than any other scenario.

Kobe, would you like to go play in NY with the Nets????

With a salary cap at about $60 million and Kobe eating up $30.2 next year and $32 the year after…..hey Kobe, if you want to win more titles you are going to have to cut your salary in half to get another good player in LA. Jim Buss has made it clear he will not be paying luxury taxes for much longer. I know you blew a crap load of endorsements with the 30 second romp in Colorado, and then your wife took all your schyyyyt in the divorce, but hey, that is a your problem, not an our problem! Take a pay cut and win some more rings. KG did it.

Get Dwight. Sign Garnett. Amnesty Artest.

Well its as easy as Dwight is head & shoulders better than Bynum [as evidenced in the playoffs] & the Lakers destroyed Gasol’s trade value. He is 40 million dollars of crap right now.

If the Magic want them both, then they will have to settle for some junk from the Nets because that isn’t going to happen. The Magic want Bynum and Gasol for Dwight and Turkeylugeegee and his horrible contract…..at least Jim Buss’ made up money issues will stop that bad deal!

  33. J Hill Says:

Boston is not resigning KG. They’ve made that perfectly clear.

    Publicly denounced?

I think the team that he would be coming to would be a lot better than the onenhe would have come to then. Especially since the trade would have cost Bynum and Odom, and we didn’t have Gasoft.

Where do you think KG is headed, Dakota?

  34. DennisAllensVisor Says:

    Thats funny though..lol…

Andrew Bynum & his 16 & 11 for one of if not THE best PGs in the NBA…. AND a 1st round pick lol!!!

  35. Raider Dell Says:

    Dakota,

You can discuss players, ownership and place blame on all, but the bottom line is this: Brown is not a winning coach. I have yet to see as the coach for Cleveland any passion from the players and ditto with the Laker players. His offense sucks, no substitution flow and no adjustmenst on the fly, as the game progress, whether in regular season games or playoffs.

The Lakers are less athletic, concerns me, yet they went in this short season with no plan. All the trades are mixed to me and served no purpose to the eventual outcome a Championship.

I said at the beginning, I was not happy with Brown, and my opinion played out with this current Laker team. Brown has had Lebron and good players surrounding him and now Kobe, with the same players and Brown is like a fish in a bucket.

Don’t care how many players lakers get, Brown will never lead to much.

No reply is necessary, just my thoughts to you.

  36. DennisAllensVisor Says:

You talk about Turkoglu having a bad contract?.. Have you peeped out Artest & Gasol’s $?!?!?!

Little to no return. Artest hasnt shut anyone down in 2 years. Gasol has been driven into the groung by Kobe & his ego.

  37. DennisAllensVisor Says:

I forgot though, Bynum has ‘potential’…

  38. J Hill Says:

    Deuce,

I disagree with you that Howard is head and shoulders better. Purple and gold glasses have nothing to do with it.

There isn’t one GM in the league who would give up Bynum and Gasoft for Howard. Especially coming off back surgery!

  39. Raidernationdave Says:

Kobe could pass MJ in title’s and it still wouldn’t make a difference because he’ll forever be seen behind the GOAT.

It’s for this reason alone that Kobe should retire and move on before “the bad memories of a washed-up former superstar trying to make it one more year with another team” syndrome begins to set in.

Coach Brown is a lump…..it is embarrassing that every time the camera finds him he is squinting up at the scoreboard while mouth breathing just trying to look like he is thinking about something, when in fact he is completely clueless when it comes to in-game adjustments.

    Should have hired Rick Adelman.

I think the thing we’ve also got to understand is that we’re starting anew. We’re not going to take into account past sins necessarily for everybody’s actions. – DA

    @silver

this is what Reggie & Dennis are thinking. It didn’t happen under our watches. same thing with Underwood

everybody gets a clean slate since 01/05/2012 (the day Reggie was hired as Raiders GM)

    so, really?

DHB is the only guy on thier crap list with that DUI arrest last month – yikes!!

Its not surprising that all the McClain haters are not liking his statement, anything he would of said you would find something wrong with it, but it is what it is and he cannot and shouldn’t talk about it until its resolved.

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    How about this:

“I apologize to the Raiders’ organization, Nation and fans for the negative impact and publicity my actions have brought. Hopefully, all matters will be resolved quickly and in a way that I can prove my worth to all parties involved – especially the Organization, Nation and fans. I look forward to contributing to the team in the most constructive and selfless manner as possible, in our efforts to reach the playoffs and the Superbowl.

I thank all who have faith in me and will work for all who don’t have faith in me, to be the best player and person I can possibly be.”

Can comments on this blog be used against McClain in court? I would think that “fails to maintain spacial awareness in pass coverage” ought to be especially incriminating.
