McClain’s statement to media

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 at 1:42 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain emerged from the locker room and gave a 36-second statement regarding his legal issues:

“I’m aware of the bad publicity that I’ve given the Raiders. I’ve talked to coach Allen, I have the support of the Raiders, my teammates, as well as the coaching staff. I apologize for the bad publicity that’s been put out there, but I mean, it is a legal process so I can’t talk much about it. But I think in due time, the Raiders and the Raider fans that are out there, it is what it is, I can’t really talk much about it. But it will be resolved in the near future.”

McClain took no questions.

    Deuce,

Mike Brown and SVG are the same guy.

Someone who doesn’t have a ring so the players get all diva on them.

Lakers could have been up 3-1 but Kobe wants to be “the guy” in the last 2 minutes, and there goes the game. SVG was going to stop Kobe from trying to be the man the last 2 minutes against Durant and his 7 foot wingspan? You’re on crack if you think that’s the case.

Lakers need a Deron Williams type if Kobe is going to stay more than they need a coaching change. Someone who is not scared to look off Kobe and throw the ball inside to the Bigs. Someone who can make guys like Westbrook and Tony Parker play defense instead of outscoring and outplaying our PG so bad.

You’re clueless about the Lakers If you’re trying to tell me Mike Brown was the problem.

    —-

I didnt say he was THE problem. He is just a part of it.

Bottom line. Period. He is NOT a head coach.

He is the Norv Turner of the NBA.

SVG is known in the NBA for his knowledge, ability etc. He burned his bridge is the only reason he got fired. Common knowledge.

Gasol gots to go he’s damaged goods, Bynum needs an azz beatin I mean attitude adjustment. It looks like Kobe doesn’t like Bynum and ignores him a lot, bynum sences it too and gives no effort instead of bustin his azz and playing hard. If he didn’t mope around and just crashed the boards and blocked shots there would be less tension. Bynum isn’t hungry anymore and gasol is gone.

    ++++++++++++++++++

Replace Kobe with a star PG who is willing to feed Gasol and Bynum on the blocks = much closer to a title than any other scenario.

Kobe, would you like to go play in NY with the Nets????

With a salary cap at about $60 million and Kobe eating up $30.2 next year and $32 the year after…..hey Kobe, if you want to win more titles you are going to have to cut your salary in half to get another good player in LA. Jim Buss has made it clear he will not be paying luxury taxes for much longer. I know you blew a crap load of endorsements with the 30 second romp in Colorado, and then your wife took all your schyyyyt in the divorce, but hey, that is a your problem, not an our problem! Take a pay cut and win some more rings. KG did it.

  • DennisAllensVisor

The Lakers need to trade Bynum/Gasol.

Get Dwight. Sign Garnett. Amnesty Artest.

They’ll be right back in it next year. Like always.

  • DennisAllensVisor

I agree Dakota, the SMART thing to do would be trade Kobe.

    But thats not happening.

If it wasn’t for a few legal issues still hanging over his head the statement should have been, “I apologize for the bad publicity that’s been put out there (by me).”

    I doubt it.

Does not sound like he is sorry. Or is it just me? Anyone else agree?

  • Raidernationdave

    Goodell speaks….

  • J Hill

Kinda agree, Dakota, but Kobe isnnot waving his no trade clause to go to Brooklyn and play with Lopez.

Deron Williams would be my priority. I might even be inclined to trade Bynum for him if they throw in their 1st rd pick.

Wouldn’t be so quick to amnesty Artest, and I think KG is already a Laker.

  • Hot Shot

Well MCclain I hope if you stay a Raider you can turn things around on and off the field.Better do something cause you have about ran out of chances.

Why is KG already a Laker?

He is currently on a better team, he is a celtic, he publicly denounced the Lakers when they tried to trade for him in 2007.

Where is this info coming from Jhill?

  • Raidernationdave

Goodell is chirping how he got over on the player’s association and stuck it in without any lube at all and how the player’s took it all in.

Damn trade Kobe that’s hard to imagine, he would kill us everytime we played him. We got to get more weapons. Because of Bynums attitude this yr I can do with out him hope kupcheck and buss agree. No way to Garnett r u serious lol I’ve been hearing his name today to la but fugg him never liked him and never will. All bark no bite, ill stay with Artest over that struck match any day.

Probably using the same evaluation chart that has you getting Bynum AND Gasoft, lol.

Well its as easy as Dwight is head & shoulders better than Bynum [as evidenced in the playoffs] & the Lakers destroyed Gasol’s trade value. He is 40 million dollars of crap right now.

Not hard to figure out buddy. Take off the purple & yellow goggles, reality is much better :)

  • hwnrdr

What did Shaq say after the game…bynum, or Gasol…make your decision and stick with it!
If that is true, I’ll stick with Bynum, get a true Point Guard, and find womeone to replace Gasol…
Bynum and Gasol to Orlando for Howard? Buwahahahahahaha!

    ++++++++++++

If the Magic want them both, then they will have to settle for some junk from the Nets because that isn’t going to happen. The Magic want Bynum and Gasol for Dwight and Turkeylugeegee and his horrible contract…..at least Jim Buss’ made up money issues will stop that bad deal!

  • J Hill

Boston is not resigning KG. They’ve made that perfectly clear.

    Publicly denounced?

I think the team that he would be coming to would be a lot better than the onenhe would have come to then. Especially since the trade would have cost Bynum and Odom, and we didn’t have Gasoft.

Where do you think KG is headed, Dakota?

  • DennisAllensVisor

    Thats funny though..lol…

Andrew Bynum & his 16 & 11 for one of if not THE best PGs in the NBA…. AND a 1st round pick lol!!!

  • Raider Dell

    Dakota,

You can discuss players, ownership and place blame on all, but the bottom line is this: Brown is not a winning coach. I have yet to see as the coach for Cleveland any passion from the players and ditto with the Laker players. His offense sucks, no substitution flow and no adjustmenst on the fly, as the game progress, whether in regular season games or playoffs.

The Lakers are less athletic, concerns me, yet they went in this short season with no plan. All the trades are mixed to me and served no purpose to the eventual outcome a Championship.

I said at the beginning, I was not happy with Brown, and my opinion played out with this current Laker team. Brown has had Lebron and good players surrounding him and now Kobe, with the same players and Brown is like a fish in a bucket.

Don’t care how many players lakers get, Brown will never lead to much.

No reply is necessary, just my thoughts to you.

  • DennisAllensVisor

You talk about Turkoglu having a bad contract?.. Have you peeped out Artest & Gasol’s $?!?!?!

Little to no return. Artest hasnt shut anyone down in 2 years. Gasol has been driven into the groung by Kobe & his ego.

  • DennisAllensVisor

I forgot though, Bynum has ‘potential’…

    RRRRRIIIIIGGGGGHHHTTTTTTT………

  • J Hill

    Deuce,

I disagree with you that Howard is head and shoulders better. Purple and gold glasses have nothing to do with it.

There isn’t one GM in the league who would give up Bynum and Gasoft for Howard. Especially coming off back surgery!

  • Raidernationdave

Kobe could pass MJ in title’s and it still wouldn’t make a difference because he’ll forever be seen behind the GOAT.

It’s for this reason alone that Kobe should retire and move on before “the bad memories of a washed-up former superstar trying to make it one more year with another team” syndrome begins to set in.

There is 1. His name is Kobe Bryant.

You have no choice but to get rid of Gasol’s contract.

Only way to do that is to attatch it to your most valuable piece..

Sorry bro, Bynum cant hold Dwight Howards elbow sleeve’s.

Men lie, women lie. NUMBERS DONT.

  • backstageatapuppetshow

McClain apologizes for the bad publicity, but not for his actions.

This is typical of an individual attempting to take responsibility for something in which they do not feel truly responsible for….

If you do not believe it, then don’t say it.

Sell crazy someplace else, we are all stocked up here!

  • J Hill

16 and 11 isn’t bad when he’s playing with a guy that takes 30 shots a game and won’t pass him the ball.

  • Dakota

    Dell,

Thanks for depressing me. I agree 100%, but I know Brown will stick for another year or two because Jim Buss will not eat his contract. I am ignoring the Coach Brown problem, because if I don’t, I will get down.

Coach Brown is a lump…..it is embarrassing that every time the camera finds him he is squinting up at the scoreboard while mouth breathing just trying to look like he is thinking about something, when in fact he is completely clueless when it comes to in-game adjustments.

    Should have hired Rick Adelman.

  • hwnrdr

you know what Dave, and that is where he will be better than MJ…because MJ just didn’t know when to fianlly quit! He tarnished his legacy coming back to the who? The Wizards?

  • J Hill

So numbers back up your head and shoulders better claim?

We are talking about this year and the future, not 2 years ago and the past bruh.

I think their numbers were pretty similar this year across the board.

And one of them isn’t coming off BACK SURGERY!

  • Raider Dell

    Dakota,

Sorry for depressing you, just trying to keep it real.

Brown is Cable’s clone. Watching the Lakers all year was like eating tough barbecued meat, with grizzle all over.

  • Dakota

    Back surgery is scary.

  • RaiderRockstar

silver was hoping the Lakers being eliminated would cut down most of the Laker blog comments, LOL

    sorry pal!

  • DEATHROW 55

U think Darren Williams could or want to play in la with Kobe???

  • Silverandblack666

Wow really the Lakers are done folks!

Put a fork in it its almost football season.

DA is not saying much about #55 right now but see how that tune will change if he is found guilty.

For me its not as much about his criminal issues as it is about his poor play on the field.
