You know, one thing about The A’s, adn as a fan it frustrates the he!! outta me…we can never get used to a player doing good beacuse F face Beane will trade him away or release him! How long was Jeter in NY, along with Rivera? How long was Andrue Jones and Chipper Jones an Atlanta Brave?

  • DMAC

Seahawks acquired TE Kellen Winslow from the Buccaneers in exchange for a conditional 2013 seventh-round pick.

Steve Corkran: Teams have a need for more than one tight end.

    ***

pick two out of four, Raider Nation

    86 David Ausberry
    81 Kyle Efaw
    82 Richard Gordon
    83 Brandon Myers

    —-

    Meyers / Ausberry

    Havent seen Efaw.

Gordon will have a shot at making it if he can play the backup FB effectively.

  • lefty12

I’d like to see Beane operate with some decent owners instead of the jerks that own the team now.I think he’d be really successful.

  • hwnrdr

    Fair enough…
    Wolf needs to GTFOH!

  • RaiderRockstar

Q: On a different McClain subject, how does he look?lighter, swifter, un hampered???

Steve Corkran: Looked much the same as last year. If McClain can play well, he will be on the team. If he plays the way he did the past two seasons, he likely won’t be around long.

    ***

    OOooff!

    ==========

I think he likes to work under schitty owners, that way he can be the talk of the town if his low budget team is playing well.

  • DMAC

    But I do agree.

  • lefty12

Fisher bothers me as much as or more than Wolfe.Wolfe is the mouthpiece, but Fisher is the one with the megabucks who refuses to spend any.

Beane and that Moneyball crap need to go.

  • RaiderRockstar

Steve Corkran: Cornerbacks are a huge question mark. Need evidence that Ron Bartell and Shawntae Spencer are going to be better than what the Raiders had last season.

    ***

    uh oh!

Corky don’t know schit about football. He just trying to do his job.

    Agreed!

  • RaiderRockstar

Steve Corkran: Miles Burris was pretty active with the first-team defense.

Steve Corkran: Richard Gordon will make the team.

    interesting!!

KK-it isn’t Beane’s fault his employers won’t allow him to spend the money necessary to keep players. It is obvious he knows how to acquire talent. If he was allowed to keep guys,he would field a good team regularly.

Beane certainly has a great eye for pitching, but he lost some respect w/ me for hanging on to that dead weight Barton.

  • http://www.Raiders.com KoolKell

Lefty, That Cesespedes? guy is the first Legitimate Right Handed power the guy the A’s have had since……………………??

  • RaiderRockstar

Q: If there was one guy on defense who needed to have a huge year for the Raiders to make the playoffs who would it be?

Steve Corkran: Richard Seymour. He disappeared at times last season and wasn’t the playmaker he is paid to be.

    ***

    see this, Mr Brown?

  • lefty12

DMAC,I agree about Barton and it is true BB makes some bad moves, but by and large he does a good job with what he is allowed to do.

  • lefty12

    Didn’t Willingham bat right-handed?

True, but it’s always tough to get attached to certain players, because they might be traded by seasons end.
You never know what might happen to Reddick?
    Remember Carlos Gonzales?
It fk’n sucks to bloom your youngsters and when they finally play good they get traded away for more prospects.
Doesn’t make any sense to me, but I know spending that $$$ has a lot to do w/ it.

  • DMAC

    271
    yes sir

And they should of resigned him and let Coco walk. WTF was Beane thinking?

  • DMAC

    Anyways I gotta roll.
    Peace!
    Ya’ll be safe.
    Its been nice chatting hardball.

  • RaiderRockstar

Q: How did Goodson look? Any glaring issues (fumbling aside) you see in his game thus far?

Steve Corkran: Dropped two passes, attempted to one-hand another one. Looked fine running, just not receiving.

    ***

Goodson still has hands made of brick? smh

  • lefty12

DMAC should we blame Beane or the cheap ownership group he works for that won’t allow him to spend the money to sign guys long term?

Not really. It isn’t Beanes fault, owners Fisher and Wolff don’t want to spend money.

Imagine what Beane could do with a legit payroll.

  • RaiderRockstar

Moore, Lechler, Janikowski, Kelly, Seymour, Reece, Tonga & Mitchell = not present at OTA’s today

    Exactly.

Give Beane a legit payroll to play with and let’s see what he can do.

  • Raidernationdave

I asked Cork a few questions.

I asked if the Raiders were pursuing a MLB, whether Steve preferred boxers or briefs, and how the Raiders were using Bilukidi.

He didn’t answer any of em.

  • DonManoukiansNeighbor

    I asked steve:

    Steve
Would you consider sponsoring an octagon match between Sully and 666? You could sell tickets and give the money to charity.

  • lefty12

    Dave-he doesn’t know the answer to all 3 questions.LOL

  • DonManoukiansNeighbor

    Oh! And:

Steve, would you take Carson as your first Qb in your fantasy draft?

  • RaiderRockstar

Q: Are there any rookies besides Criner that are making some kind of impression?

Steve Corkran: Receivers Rod Streater and Derek Carrier.

Q: what is the injury status of Matt Shaughnessy? still rehabbing on his own? will he be full-go at OTA’s any time soon?

Steve Corkran: Not quite 100 percent, wrapping up his rehab from the shoulder surgery last season.

    get well soon, ShoNasty!

Calhoun was turning heads last week, Carrier today!

    competition = cool

How long before we make the switch to Cook as our closer? He has some nasty stuff.
I think Balfour is trade bait right now and Fuentes is not the answer.

    ^^^^^^^^^
I said the same thing on the radio 95.7 the last couple of weekends.

Cook is the future closer and probably will be closing by the 2nd half of season and after the trade deadline especially.

Beane should try and trade Balfour for hitting prospect or even a decent SS prospect.

If Allen fails…is Shaw the next in line as Raiders head coach or would Shaw be Knapps replacement as OC?

Steve Corkran: Michael Huff looks just fine. He will not be moved from safety because of the coaching change. Mike Mitchell is recovering from a knee injury.

Cork on Aaron Curry “He’s too inconsistent.”

    JFB will love that!

  • lefty12

A 3rd baseman is needed before a SS.Supposedly we have some hotshot SS prospect at AA I believe.

The A’s have some OF prospect named Taylor (Michael I think??) that my buddy (A’s fan) was wanting to see on Saturday along with Manny.

What a disappointment he was. I am not sure I have seen such a lazy, non-determined OF. He did hit a double off the wall, but he literally jogged after balls and never made any effort other than to collect it and toss it to the cutoff man.

    Maybe he was dinged.

    ^^^^^^^^
Taylor and Carter are both stiffs as major league players and are going to be career Minor Leaguers.

If you want to party, New Orleans is the game. If you want to watch football, its awful. Went to a MNF game there and they sat our Booster Organization at the top of the Dome near the A/C vents. Players looked like ants. The Saints do that to reduce the possibility the visitors can here their fans.

  • RaiderRockstar

Q: Is Phillip Wheeler looking like a solid addition to the LB corps?

Steve Corkran: Absolutely. Very active and athletic. Fans are going to like Wheeler.
