Raiders add TE Humphrey

The Raiders added veteran Tory Humphrey to the mix at tight end as they began a three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday.
Humphrey, 6-foot-2, 257 pounds, played with both the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints, giving him familiarity with both general manager Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen.
In 31 games with nine starts, Humphrey has 13 receptions for 181 yards.
He joins veteran Brandon Myers and second-year players David Ausberry and Richard Gordon at a position that at the moment looks as if it will be done by platoon this season.

If Marcel Reece stays at FB, it changes our offense. If we don’t add a few guys like Shockey & Shaincoe at TE, it changes our offense. You’re not going to see a clone of the 2011 Texans

Veteran receiver Mike Sims-Walker will participate in the Texans’ mandatory minicamp on a tryout basis, according to Terrance Harris of SportsRadio 610 in Houston.
“He looked pretty good,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Tuesday. “Obviously jumping out here in this heat we are having right now is pretty tough. Thought he did some pretty good things but we will go back and look at the tape and all the periods and see how he did. It gives us three days to evaluate.”
The Texans have only two receivers who have ever played in a regular-season NFL game: Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter.
The Texans kicked Sims-Walker’s tired on May 30, the same day they looked at running back Justin Forsett, who has since signed with the team.

Exactly. You see the Raiders WR Corps is developing quite nicely I think. The same size and type of WR is coming along quickly. If CP3 can throw BB’s, and I don’t see why he can’t, then this could be something to behold for the next 3-4 years.

Carson Palmer came out of retirement and a dusty couch and threw for an avg of almost 300 yards per game in 9 starts last year. That was without DMC, and Ford for the most part, and Murphy hurt too.
Now imagine with a beefed up line: add Briesel and Bergstrom. Now add a stud possession receiver in Juron Criner that gives him legit 4 wideout playcalling options.
Now imagine he’s got a full offseason to redicate himself to the game and workout with his young WR crew. Also imagine him being fired up to play instead of talking about the game like he could take it or leave it, like he was happier windsurfing.

CP3 was on a pace for 4700 yards if you extrapolate his 9 starts. Off the couch, outta retirement with no offseason to prepare.
Last year, there were 4 QB’s who were at 5000 yards or close to 5000. And these guys were glorified by the press. No one really had much to say about CP3 though.

It’s early, but there isn’t one football review of T. Pryors body of work that suggest he’ll open up the season as anything other than the #3 QB. Accuracy is a big deal. Remember Jamarcus’s accuracy? That was brutal to watch. Not comparing the two, but if you don’t have accuracy, you just got no chance. Sorry Pryor, go to work. Earn the b/u spot.
