WR Moore injured in practice

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, June 12th, 2012 at 2:22 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Projected starting wide receiver Denarius Moore suffered what appeared to be a right hamstring injury during practice Tuesday, though coach Dennis Allen didn’t seemed overly concerned.
“He’s going to be fine,” Allen said. “We’ll evaluate it. Usually those things take a couple of weeks or so, so we’ll see where he’s at.”
Moore got hurt while making a sharp cut on a down-and-out route midway through practice. Quarterback Carson Palmer pump-faked and then pulled down the ball once he saw Moore get injured.
A trainer quickly came to Moore’s aid, placing Moore face down on the grass and working on his hamstring. The trainer eventually escorted Moore into the locker room, from which he didn’t return.
Moore has about six weeks to recover from his injury before the Raiders begin training camp in Napa on July 29. He likely won’t be allowed to participate in the final two days of the three-day mini camp this week.
He was unavailable for comment after practice.

The dude who had his face chewed off in Miami is alert and following the Heat’s championship run.

That was probably the best thing that has happened to the guy in a long time. Probably get some money out of this deal. Yeah, he had his face chewed off, but the publicity he will receive probably beats being homeless.

DHB is not tht good! He is not better thn D Moore. He is not better thn FORD! If Criner is the real deal, then let him be the big body target. Moore is the deep threat and Ford is the slot wr tht breaks big plays whn the ball is in his hands. Criner gets more snaps now tht Moore is hurt. DHB got stats because evrybody else was hurt! He doesnt have good hands and his route running sucks! Run Ford until he gets hurt. Play the man and get him the ball. DHB is called DHB because his name is long, not becuz of his great play. Palmer is talking up Moore, Ford, and Criner. DHB only beats these guys wth his contract! Lol!

Raiders interested in RB Cedric Benson

    By Jon Becker
Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at 3:32 pm in Oakland Raiders.

With both Steve Corkran and Jerry McDonald on vacation this week, we’re a little slow with this news. Sorry!

It sounds as if the Raiders may not be content with their running back situation behind starter Darren McFadden. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Raiders are showing interest in free agent running back Cedric Benson.

Benson, who has topped the 1,000-yard mark the past three seasons, has not drawn much interest from teams. He’s had off-field problems each of the past two seasons — assault charges that resulted in Benson being suspended for three games this season.

McFadden, who missed nine games this past season with a foot injury, is at full strength now. However, he’s missed at least three games in each of his first four seasons in the NFL. And, with Michael Bush leaving the Raiders to sign with the Chicago Bears, Oakland is left with second-year man Taiwan Jones and ex-Carolina Panther Mike Goodson as its primary backups at running back. Jones had 16 carries for 73 yards for the Raiders in 2011, while Goodson had no carries with Carolina.

Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has maintained throughout the offseason that he doesn’t have the financial flexibility to sign big-name free agents. Given the lack of interest in Benson, though, it’s unlikely he would be seeking a huge payday.

With that in mind, do you think the Raiders should sign Benson

Don’t know anything about him and heard about him running over some big names (pola-whatever steelers,ed reed ravens) but further comments both here and at Silver and Black Pride hint at him being a journeyman at best and not a selfless player(bit of a primadonna).
