Heyward-Bey ordered back in court July 23

Thursday, June 28th, 2012 at 10:54 am in Oakland Raiders.

Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey was informed at a pre-hearing conference Thursday that he is due back in court July 23 for his next go-round as a result of his being charged with driving under the influence.
Heyward-Bey went before Judge Donna Little at Superior Court in San Francisco on Thursday morning. At that time, Judge Little told Heyward-Bey that a jury trial will be set July 23 unless the case is resolved.
Assistant district attorney Alex Bastian said by phone that Heyward-Bey was present Thursday and that Heyward-Bey is slated to appear again in Dept. 17 at the Hall of Justice in less than a month.
The Raiders start training camp in Napa on July 29. Raiders coach Dennis Allen last month said that he and the Raiders are keeping tabs of Heyward-Bey’s legal issue.
“It’s a situation that we’re aware of and we’re monitoring,” Allen said. “We’ll see how the whole legal proceedings carry out and then we’ll kind of go from there.”
Heyward-Bey, 25, was arrested and charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and one count of driving while having a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher, in the early morning hours April 7. He was arraigned May 31 after blood-alcohol tests revealed 0.12 and 0.13 levels.
Heyward-Bey could not be reached for comment. Last month, he said: “I just kind of regret bringing bad attention to the team.”
He entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment, which he did not attend.
Heyward-Bey’s lawyer, Ivan Golde, said Wednesday that there might be some procedural issues related to the traffic stop and arrest.
“After investigating all the procedures and all the chain of events, it appears not everything was done according to the rule of law, and there may be some questions that need to go before a jury,” Golde said.

    DJ,

You can compete with friends. We all wanted to be top dog (bonuses and recognition), but we were always welling to help and understood that it was a business/ job and we all had to make money.

You have a great job DJ. Don’t you enjoy what you do?

  • DJ Johnny

I do but it’s very fragile. You can get canned at any moment. Stations get sold, formats change, bad ratings and u could be out etc. etc. etc.

Were always thinking about what we’ll do next when that happens and on air jobs are getting more scarce everyday due to automation and syndicated shows eliminating the need for local announcers.

Unless your Howard Stern or some other big timer your job is never safe.

  • DJ Johnny

I wish you gentlemen a very pleasent good evening.

Being better than the San Francisco team is the business model for professional sports in Oakland. Prove me otherwise, or just shut up and take that to the bank. No Oakland sports team has succeeded long term without being dominant over the SF team in their sport. NO ONE!!!!!! EVER!!!

  • http://www.Raiders.com KoolKell

No, I think you have to be dominant in your division. Of course when the A’s and Raiders were great, they were better than the SF teams, and everybody else.

Watched those replays from the Packers game (thanks for the link).

Yes it is true Huff looked awful. Yup, also 6 DB’s on the field was an awful alignment. And also yup, Rolando was out of place.

But we have discussed that particular play a ton in here, and yet everyone either blames Rolando or Huff.

Did anyone watch “Missile” Mike on the play? Never heard anyone complain that the play in essence was ran RIGHT AT HIM, and he did the same exact thing Rolando did, ran into the wrong hole, ran up on one of his own players, and was pretty much a non-factor on the play even though he wasn’t blocked.

Dude, I think the onus is on you to prove your point, which strikes me as a little off the wall. You got some secret documents stashed somewhere? Otherwise, all you’re doing is citing some historical data which may be entirely coincidental–to wit, that when one franchise is up the other is down. Are wins and success in the Bay Area a zero sum game? In other words, is there a finite amount of success in the region? That would be truly remarkable.

There’s also an implication in your rather strained perspective that Oakland teams try to mimic/copy/benchmark? the SF teams. But with McKenzie’s ascendancy–and his clear intention to emulate the Packers–that theory is easily disproven.

So back to the drawing board for you I’m afraid.

Good morning Nation! You’re right JFB, MM34 does tend to over-shoot plays or hit the wrong gaps, maybe lack of experience or lateral quickness.

  • TxRaider210

Does anyone know if Tarver was at Stanford with Harbaugh, or was he in SF already?

No! Tarver was with SF when Harbaugh was at Stanford.

Tarver was only with Stanford for one year….under David Shaw.

I honestly thought that my marriage was healthy. i loved my husband with all my heart. we was married 8 years and have a 3 yr old son. we bought a house 2 months ago. i told him i was pregnant…then he starting acting strange. he didn’t want me to keep the baby. one day i decided to tell him i could not go through with not having the baby (about 2 months pregnant), then he tells me he doesn’t love me anymore. 2 days later he tells me he cheated on me and wants a divorce. he has since (2 weeks) been really cruel, cussed at me, told me he was going to file kidnapping on me, and has generally acted like i am a doormat. the other woman even contacted me and told me she is going to be my children’s stepmother. i know that the affair was not very long because he met her 3 months ago. i don’t know what has happened to my husband. i cannot eat or sleep and only have a sister with minimal finances. i completely alone and scared. i needed help because i don’t know what to do. he filed for a divorce with a lawyer. so 3 days later a friend told me about a spell caster dr.marnish@yahoo.com, i contacted him and told him my problem and what i wanted and after 3 days he brought my husband back and made my husband a changed man, he is now a good man.
