Every single coach has to be in sync with the GM, head coach, and the system. Al liked to take care of the Raider greats and give them jobs. But let's be honest, in the past 20 years that's probably hurt us more than it helped us. It's probably one of the reasons why guys like Petrino, S. Payton and Wisenhunt said no, and why Parcells and Belichick would never consider. You want your staff. Your guys. You get some o-line coach that's planted by the owner, you're wondering if he's double crossing the other guys and going to ownership behind their back, etc. It's just not cohesive. This is the NFL.
