Gannon briefing team on dealing with media
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, July 29th, 2012 at 2:51 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon is in Napa and currently addressing the team regarding dealing with the media.
Gannon will leave shortly after his talk and fly to Miami and do the same thing for the Dolphins.
When Gannon was with the Raiders, his press dealings ranged from humous to dry to contentious, depending on his mood and how the team was playing. He’s become much more expansive since becoming an analyst for CBS as well as being a co-host for a Sirius NFL radio show.
His specialty during his regular Wednesday press conferences was checking his watch as the questions droned on, the better to exit stage left and get on the practice field. Will be looking to see if any Raiders employ that strategy this year.

Bring on camp!

Rich Gannon was at Raiders camp?
hope he stopped by Pryor’s locker to offer a few words of encouragement

Feeling pretty optomistic about this team, but then I always do this time of year, and why not? Raiders have lots of young potential talent blended with some good veteran leadership. This can be a competitive team and maybe even explosive. IMO the only real question marks are how the players respond to the new coaches and how fast they pick up the new schemes.

One idiot calls Criner a Diva, and You People assume he is one.
The man is trying to get an additional 10%, it’s not like he is asking for 2nd round money, and that makes him a diva?
================================================
Raider HO you are not much on thinking are you? There are 12 count them, 12 players in the ENTIRE DRAFT that are currently unsigned. One is a third rounder the rest are all lst and 2nd rounders. Then there is a 6th rounder. Criner. You can’t even really call him a 5th rounder because the 5th round came and went and he wasn’t taken. Why don’t you encourage him to hold out for lst rounder money since basically the ones left.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I agree. Then you have idiots like Raider HO who idiotically advocated just caving in to a 5th round pick to eliminate distractions. Of course imagine the message that would send to everyone that signed and showed up on time, not to mention breaking the brand new CBA which was negotiated in part to eliminate the circus of distractions of player negotiations. Raider HO is once again a proven moron.
$$$$$$$$
LMAO @ Seymour Biotch!
He is so confused he can’t decide if Criner is a 5th or 6th round pick.
What an idiot.
Still lmao

Calm down Nation. Because of his outstanding performances at OTAs, Criner’s AGENT thought he might have a little leverage to get his client some more cash(doing his job). He had a legitimate point asking to keep the $2000 allotment decline, being that Criner will probably be on the field alot this season. It was worth a shot.
Bottom line…Criner signed his contract on time, missed no practice, was not a holdout, was never going to miss any time in the first place, would never put his standing with the organization in jeopardy over $14,000.

Word to the Nation:
Give Criner a “pass” (pun intended). He signed his contract, got into camp on time, now he simply has to earn his way on to the team. Reggie did his job, Criner and his agent did theirs, so now we can just sit back and let the August drama unfold. Interesting to see Mr. Gannon make an appearance; I remember he did Packers broadcasts a couple of years ago, so I know he and Reggie have crossed paths on numerous occasions .. glad to see him back.

Welcome to the Sunday Carnival …
July 29th, 2012 at 3:28 pm
Afc every time I post a new post pops up and I’m left behind! They should of just split the difference between the guy picked before and after Criner! Simple right….. Now lets find a nt, more competition at cb & lb and acquire the coach who go ride of tiki’s fumbelitis to coach Godsen….. Cuz we don’t need Benson and Jones can be a weapon if he can stay healty! Raider on Nation! Are you ready for some football!

Ddsman = Piss-imistic (yes, that was on purpose!)
No Ddsman = Enlightened and ready for a new era of excellence!
July 29th, 2012 at 3:32 pm
Not sure how I feel, but it knida goes like this:
I always felt it was the Raiders vs the nfl.
But now I’m tryin not to feel like we’re just one of 32 teams.
The league lost a little color when Coach passed, and I hope the Raiders don’t slip into that complacency that most teams slipped into.
If we can become a powerhouse like the giants or the steelers, and stay there, then I’ll be fine.

I kinda missed this troll fest!
July 30th, 2012 at 1:34 pm
I think you misunderstand the psychology of a troll. His is an unrelenting pursuit of hot buttons, needling targets, sore spots and whatever to provoke and irritate true fans. He tries to cover this with phrases like “it’s all good”, “chillax, dude”, “just my opinion”, blah, blah blah. How good or bad the Raiders play is irrelevant to his true objective which is a neverending quest for validation via responses to his drivel. His profile says he joined in Sept. 2010 yet he was unheard of here until he finally annoyed his way out of another blog Do you seriously think somebody posting literally hundreds of comments in a couple days time is interested in a lively debate about football,or is suffering from attention deficit disorder(i.e. he needs attention)? I’m basically storing this in the cloud.
