Quarterbacks rotation announced, two players out for season
By Steve Corkran
Sunday, August 12th, 2012 at 12:31 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Carson Palmer will start Monday night’s exhibition game against the Dallas Cowboys, with Matt Leinart taking over and Terrelle Pryor finishin up.
It’s safe to assume that Palmer won’t play beyond the first quarter, if that much. Leinart likely will play through the end ofthe first half, perhaps into the third quarter, with Pryor getting plenty of reps.
As for the running backs, Allen said Darren McFadden will see some action. To that, McFadden said he welcomes the chance to play in a game for the first time since he suffered a season-ending foot injury last October.
“I was thinking about that last night,” McFadden said. “I’m really anxious to get out there. I’m very excited about it. It’s like a rookie all over again. Just anxious and eager to get out there.”
– Allen said that rookie linebacker Mario Kurn and rookie wide receiver Duke Calhoun suffered torn anterior cruciate ligaments in their right knees Saturday.
Both players are slated for surgery to repair the damage, and they are out for the season, Allen said.

Kind of sucks worrying about if the #1 RB is gonna make it through the first preseason game.
Probably gonna be like that all season.

Hey guys are going to get hurt. This league boils down to the healthiest and deepest teams are the ones that make it.

Pryor looks impressive athletically vs 3rd stringers, trade value goes up, and we trade him for a 3rd-rounder next April.

What we can count on, is Reggie finding solid replacements for guys who go down.

Lonyae Miller will look strong Monday night and a recurring quote will be “See, I told you McKenzie knew what he was doing not going after Benson.”
solid RBs = dime a dozen.

True TxRaider
this will be the first time since the Bruce Allen Raider days that we’ll actually gleam some talent from FA cuts.

Taiwan is way too fragile to be a dependable healthy for a full season kinda NFL RB. And the guy we got from Panthers is no better. and we know how fragile DMC is, right? These guys are all like Ferraris. Fast but always in for repair at shop! Am I wrong?
I know in 2012 RBs are dime a dozen but just saying we need solid healthy BMW kinda RBs : not as fast as a Ferrari but fast enough and not always in need of repairs.
Thoughts?

Easy does it DMAC. We don’t want you to get a blister on your big toe, which as everyone knows would put you frail ass on the DL.
