A few Raiders’ pregame notes:

– Starting free safety Michael Huff and reserve cornerback and special teams player Pat Lee both missed the game to be present for the birth of their children.

– Linebacker Mario Kurn and wide receiver Duke Calhoun cleared injury waivers and were placed on the injured reserve list. They will remain there until they are cleared medically or receive an injury settlement.

– Former Raiders linebacker Rob Fredrickson, a first-round pick out of Michigan State in 1994 (No. 22 overall) was at the stadium working in his capacity as a color analyst for the Cardinals’ radio broadcast.

– Raiders other than Huff and Lee who did not play were punter Shane Lechler (knee), wide receiver Denarius Moore (hamstring), running back Taiwan Jones (hamstring), running back Rashawn Jackson (hip), linebacker Aaron Curry (knees), center Stefen Wisniewski (calf), tackle Ed Wang (shoulder), tackle Zach Hurd (head), tight end Brandon Myers (shoulder), defensive end Jack Crawford (foot) and defensive tackle Jamie Cumbie (foot).

    Dennis Allen likes Rick Gordon.

Will Ausberry or Humphrey shine tonight and show the staff they are serious about competing for the starting TE job?

If Gordon doesnt do much in the next 2 games, I think Brandon Myers wins by default. Same could be said of Miles Burris. Aaron Curry will be starter the day he’s healthy enough, unless Burris does something positive to catch the coaches attention
