Sebastian Janikowski missed a 30-yard field goal and Jason Hanson connected from 41 to account for the scoring in a first quarter that was mostly two possessions.
Carson Palmer was 4-for-5 for 51 yards on Oakland’s first series. Faced with fourth-and-1 at the 13, coach Dennis Allen opted to take the points _ only to have Janikowski inexplicably miss a chip-shot attempt.
Detroit drove 57 yards in 12 plays to set up Hanson for the Lions’ field goal.
Bad news for the Raiders _ four pre-snap first-quarter penalties. Two false starts on Mike Brisiel and neutral zone infractions on Matt Shaughnessy and Dave Tollefson.
Oakland’s second possession resulted in a single first down _ a 12-yard Palmer to Rod Streater pass. Streater has three catches for 42 yards.

Honestly I like the fact our D looks drastically improved. If all we need is our offense to score 20 or so a game.
Il take that vs watching our Defense choke year after year…..

Staffords one flaw is conditioning. Hes a bit of a fat-body so hes not too durable.
If that is your QBs one and only flaw, yeah, Id say hes pretty damn elite.

Stafford needs more post season wins to be considered on that level, and he must stay healthy for a good stretch.

What do I expect? I expect a real Raider fan to appreciate the fact that Knapp has made the right calls and put us in position to score on 95% of our drives this preseason with the ones in the game.

How good is this defense when we have horrible int. that gives ‘em short field…and we still don’t let ‘em in the endzone?
I know how it goes…when we do well it’s only preseason….but if we suck in preseason…..it’s alarming and matters so much more.
