Raiders sign WR/PR Parrish

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, August 28th, 2012 at 10:53 am in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders just confirmed the signing of veteran wide receiver/kick returner Roscoe Parrish. Practice begins in about 15 minutes, so we shall see if Parrish also has arrived, passed his physical and is ready to join his new teammates.
The Raiders released offensive lineman Zach Hurd to make room for Parrish on the 75-man roster.
Parrish was released by the San Diego Chargers on Monday, and the Raiders pounced in a hurry. That’s understandable, given kick returner Jacoby Ford and punt returner Denarius Moore are battling through lingering injuries.
Parrish, 30, is a seven-year veteran who spent all his time with the Buffalo Bills. He caught 134 passes for 1,502 yards for the Bills.
However, he made his biggest mark on punt returns, where he averaged an impressive 12 yards per return. He also has the ability to return kicks, so he might be asked to handle both duties as long as Ford and Moore are on the mend.

the Mayor has benn looking good IMO. He will be dropping that miniker by game 2.

You drive a hard bargain….so we can call it a deal.

  23. Rezinator Says:

Cooley is a pass catching TE. Runs good routes, has great hands, nothing special on blocking. He is injury prone and has had a couple of concussions in career.

    ——————————-

No doubt…turnovers are EVERYTHING in the NFL. All I am saying is that Goodson looked MUCH better the last game compared to the AZ game coming off of the concussion from Wheeler. He hit the hole hard and was running DB’s over in the flat. His ball protection was 1000% better. I would actually like to see him get some shots at the goal line with the beer truck blocking in front of him.

my logic is if you have more talent at another position (DL in this case)you keep those guys. In the event of a RB emergency there is always the waiver wire (and Marcel). I say Keep the known commodities with upside-Cumbie for example.

Also, I think this year it may be just as likely Seymour breaks down as DMAC does. just food for thought when thinking about depth at positions.

It’s probaly easier to find a RB on Waivers than a decent DL. Just sayin

Reece has never had to carry it 25 times in a game.. lets alone 6-8 games.. we need 3 rbs just in case.

I agree with that list. I think that Gordon/Ausberry are on the bubble if Reggie finds a TE he likes.

24 offensive players (TE is the only bubble spot for a FA)
26 Defensive players (I think we find at least 3 FA’s for depth and special teams.)
3 special teamers (Condo, Jano, Lechler locks.)

When has it been temporary? If dmc and dr.jones go down for a while we’ll have to add a rb off the couch.
    —————
absolutley, I’m just saying to do that when the time comes. Unless there is someone worth adding now of course.

  113. KoolKell Says:

Just watched the game last nite. They looked pretty good. Got a better feel for the offensive scheme. TJ has me feeling a lot better, Streater is our #1 possession WR, imo.

  114. itzSteve Says:

McCann is on the bubble to make the team as a DB depending on how Roscoe works out.

How many players can we put on the practice squad?

  115. zopi Says:

I have a feeling that Seymour will not last this season, with arthritic knees or tendonitis, whatever, not much of a loss or worry, tough. Looks like there are plenty of better DTs available. Seymour would probably be better off retiring if his knees continue to be his issue.
