seems like they threw out the staff without really acknowledging key coaching staff to retain – in particular, Fassel. Im not second guessing Hue, but the Knapp one is going to be a head scratcher, particularly if you need ZBS personnel the next year.
as for Seattle, its meaningless, and Seattle gets up for this game, EVERY year (AFC West beefs, never having won a SB in that span). They realize there is a SERIOUS Raider fan base – Raiders have recruited up in Wash for years, Ben Davidson, Lincoln Kennedy, Kaufman, etc.

Although its a pre-season game, you understand that the rah-rah approach works and momentum goes a long way…if you are a once great team trying to re-boot, you have to get these guys to acknowledge rivalry intensity and play accordingly.

The Good:
Our starting D was pretty good.
Penalties were way down.
Lee and McCann were on a mission, and it showed.
Bilukidi’s got the potential to be beast with some more seasoning.
Pryor has some potential when he’s not breaking out the Barry Sanders to avoid getting sacked.
The Bad:
Our backup o-line sucked. Fortunately, they’re all getting the axe except Bergs (and maybe Barksdale).
No good running backs after DMAC and Taiwan.
The Ugly:
Roscoe Parrish: Two punt returns, two fumbles, one plane ticket home. We can ship him his stuff. Maybe.

the entire organization knows the ST coach was instructed to simply put out there all the bottom-of-the-roster guys to see if any of them would stick via special teams.
The end result of the actual ST performance was of no consequence, only the individual evaluations.

sam bradford threw 3 tds today against the ravens backups and rams fans are goo-ing and gaa-ing over how good they will be this year.. in a way, its almost better to see the bad things so you know who to cut and who keeps playing when youre down by 21.. todays loss was good for some of our guys so they can dig in and grind harder come week one!!!!

That was putrid. Pryor was the only player on offense that did anything that even approxamated an exciting play when he shook off a tackle and made a nice throw down the field.
I think we wasted an opportunity to let pryor play when palmer went to the bench. lienart came into the game and on his first pass did his best matt lienert. Bouncing the ball of a defenders helmet on a screen attempt. We didnt find out any new information about him, and playing pryor with an entire oline that will be cut tomorrow was useless.

If Hue is still the HC which he should be this O would be a well oiled machine instead of a ? Tonight we have received proof, pryor should be 2nd on the chart. lienart best value at this point is as a pseudo coach helping the guys that may have to actually play learn the offense.

I liked hujac a lot when he first arrived. i thought with he and Al Davis together they would do well. Hu Jac proved he could lead an offense, but he was a TERRIBLE GM. It is becoming more clear by the day that hujac as talented as he was in some aspects neede davis to run everything else. For a while davis supplied him wtih a solid qb and explosive weapons, and would not allow hujac to bring in palmer and other bungles as he wanted.
Once Davis passed hujac went ape. He made the ridiculous trade, made some horrible post game gaffs with the media, and almost had a mutiny after he benched and discarded his team leaders in the middle of the night.
Oh what could have been, hujac and davis needed one another

Mistic…. Ill take CP3 over JC anyday and what did it really cost us? Guess we’ll never know but Huejax was a Rookie HC and was gonna make mistakes as will DA but imo he would have learned a great deal from his first year and would have been primed and ready for this year.

All Preseason zero inside running game. The teams are waiting for the RB cutback in the zone scheme. The Raiders gotta move the D-line round around abit for a crease open up but it is not happening. Raiders a throw first team? It may have to go that way.

Hujac was a very talented play caller but he made sevarl crucial errors was davis passed. He simply couldnt stay.
1.) Going too far with the water works after the win in texas
2. Trading for carson palmer especially with such unfavorable terms.
3. discarding and undervaluing the team leader jc
4. the mysterious benching of DHB and boss
5. signing tj housh
6. setting the all time penalty mark
7. failing to bench romac
8.failing to improve the defense
9. throwing players under the buss after the final loss
10. throwing coaches under the buss after the final loss
11. saying he wanted more power
hujac went off the rails after davis passed, but at least for a few weeks we were reminded of what real raider ball is

Palmer cost us Nate Solder and some random mid-2nd-rounder which over half of don’t make an NFL team for more than 3 seasons.
That’s not too much to give up for a legit QB that is the difference between playoff potential and 6-10.
The Cards gave up more for Kolb.
The Broncos used up as much for Tebow.
The Jets used up as much for Sanchez.
The Bears gave up WAAAAAAY more for Cutler.
Redskins gave up 2nd and 3rd for McNabb.

you can’t really fire a DC mid-season unless there is a better candidate in house that can just take the current team philosophy and improve it a little.
You can’t make wholesale changes to a unit mid-way through a season.
Just doesn’t work like that.
And it’s not like there were incredible DCs just standing around with no team to coach.

PMan…watching paint dry was better than this.Kids have got their tits in a tangle over our soon to be cut players getting smoked by what appears to be a very desperate Pete Carroll.
