    10-6

  2. 504 Raider Says:

This roster far from set. about 4 of these guys getting cut/traded by Monday and we will see 4 new faces. Book it.

  3. GG Says:

King on IR = 2013 starting punter

  4. ottocrat Says:

Thank you for your time Mr. Parrish, now get the hell out of here.

  5. Just Fire Baby Says:

I would be suprised if Curry is ready after 6 weeks.

  6. Just Fire Baby Says:

    LOL at the King love.

His first game (Dallas) he had a punting average that would have put him DEAD LAST in the NFL in 2011.

Next game, he has a punt blocked and shows no skill, pooch punting.

Next game, he hurts his foot with no contact.

  7. AmysInCharge Says:

Parrish was still trying to put his helmet on when The Turk cut him.

  8. R8RNAZ Says:

Gotta develop young talent. King might have it. Better than being left high and dry next year, but whi givves a f..k about next year because 9 10 12 is all that matters today!

    It is the truth.

  10. GG Says:

Explain putting a reserve punter on IR? King is clearly talented, and the ‘next-gen’ Raider punter. They don’t want him being picked up by another team. Lechler off-contract end of this year. Reggie can save another 5M or whatever on the cap.

  11. Raidernationdave Says:

    “Terminated WR Roscoe Parrish (8)”

    ++++++++++++++++++++

    Was he hung or shot?

  12. Klas Tjorborn Says:

At least we had guy name Roscoe that we can make fun of.

  13. YoungAmerican Says:

I don’t know if he’ll be the 2013 starter, but he at least gives the Raiders some flexibility at the position. He’s talented enough to stash on IR for the year and see what he has in training camp next time around.

  14. Raidernationdave Says:

Next years punter. SL will retire after this year.

  15. mcfadden20. Says:

Damn Underwood was looking good , too bad he got injured on that one that 1 tackle

  16. Klas Tjorborn Says:

Loved the Lechler but Reggie knows he can’t pay big money to punter. We get one more season at least.

  17. backstageatapuppetshow Says:

I don’t want another punter who out kicks his coverage….

I understand we may have had 2 of the best punters of all time on this team….but we out punt our coverage too often…

A punter with a powerful leg might be the most overrated thing in the league….IMO, especially if he can’t pin the returner into the sideline….

  18. Raidernationdave Says:

O will go ballistic if SL’s back next year. DA won’t do that to O.

  19. GG Says:

    #16 spot on

  20. 504 Raider Says:

Turk: Roscoe, put your helmet down. Bring your playbook.

  21. backstageatapuppetshow Says:

Even Al should have known this…

  22. GG Says:

Also keep in mind the new IR rules are in effect this year, they’ve been agreed to by NFLPA and NFL. A person on IR can come back and play this year within 21 days of coming of IR.

  23. backstageatapuppetshow Says:

Lechler is great at hitting them high and pinning the return man….not speaking out against him….just against punters with powerful legs and no concept of what they need to be doing…

  24. backstageatapuppetshow Says:

    King is a perfect example…

  25. Just Fire Baby Says:

Explain putting a reserve punter on IR?

    **************************

Wel we IR’d Jeff Otis once and put him on the practice squad twice.

Didn’t mean much of anything did it?

  26. Raidernationdave Says:

    From the Raiders web site:

“The Oakland Raiders Friday announced 22 transactions, reducing the team’s active roster to the regular-season limit of 53 players.

The team waived 17 players, terminated one veteran, placed three on reserve/injured, and placed veteran linebacker Aaron Curry on reserve/physically unable to perform. Curry is eligible to return to practice as early as Oct. 16, the day after the conclusion of the NFL’s sixth weekend. Once he returns to practice, he will be allowed to practice for up to 21 days prior to returning to the active roster.”

    Terminated?

  27. rob_raider Says:

Nix will be replaced and then put on practice squad. I predicted a long time ago he could stick.
5 DTs means Seymour could be done.
Only 5 LBs and 7 CBs means reggie looking for someone to take DVD or chekwa. New LB on the way.

  28. Intrepid Says:

    Klas , you still awake?

  29. GG Says:

Carrier will go to practice squad. If another team doesn’t snatch him. Remember DA said something about not playing some players in fear they perform well and get picked up from waivers trying to stash them on the PS.

  30. YoungAmerican Says:

5 DTs means Seymour could be done.

    ================

They’ll be closely monitoring the amount of snaps he takes this season. Not a 3-down player anymore.

  31. rob_raider Says:

    I think Seymour may retire.

  32. Just Fire Baby Says:

I still stick with my stance that we won’t bring in anybody of the street who will play anything besides ST.

  33. YoungAmerican Says:

5 WRs makes me think they’re still looking to add another piece in the passing game.

  34. rob_raider Says:

Carrier could be a TE. He’s big and tenacious.

  35. Rezinator Says:

Only surprise for me was Stupar, thought he earned a spot with his performance in Seattle. 11 tackles yesterday…

  36. GG Says:

Armando Allen (HB) we should snatch up from waivers. Bears crazy to waive him.

Also, maybe we can try to trade for Pierre Thomas or better Travaris Cadet from the Saints.

  37. The Wrath of AL Says:

Rolling the dice on lonyae miller hope we don’t crapout

  38. rob_raider Says:

I don’t know about a wr. If healthy we don’t need a vet blocking time for the guys we have.

I don’t know about a wr. If healthy we don’t need a vet blocking time for the guys we have.

    ===================

Not necessarily a WR. I still think the Raiders might be looking at Evan Moore, who was signed as a UDFA by the Packers in 2008. They don’t need a guy who can start, but if Moore and Ford are touch-and-go from a health standpoint this season (like they were last season), they’re down to 3 WRs. Will need someone familiar enough with the offense to be a change of pace in the passing game.

  40. rob_raider Says:

Armando Allen is really good but small. I’d like us to get a between the tackles guy like Michael Bennett. It’s ok if he doesn’t play but if needed he can carry it 20 times. Goodson jones and DMc all injury risks.

  41. panzor Says:

i agree totally hope he’s PS bound

    ==========

Seriously? Michael Bennett is 33, and going to jail for wire fraud.

  43. GG Says:

Thinking also return guy as depth RB.

I dont like anyone we’ve had returning kicks apart from Ford, but he’s now constantly nicked. Could end up on the bubble ultimately.

  44. panzor Says:

    Nathan Stupar i mean

  45. rob_raider Says:

Reggie trying to hold on to DVD and/or chekwa b/c they may be tradable. Frenzies played pretty well as a corner. Lee has played well. McCann made a nice play on the ball and is our return man now.

  46. Just Fire Baby Says:

Told everybody that Goodson wouldn’t be waived.

I don’t think it was even considered.

  47. YoungAmerican Says:

Kahlil Bell might be the best fit for the Raiders offense.

That said, I think they intend on getting Marcel Reece involved more than they led on this preseason.

  48. Marks hair Says:

We’re cheating.. underwood & king are fine..

  49. rob_raider Says:

Lol. I meant how Bennett was when he was here. A back u knew could handle it but it was no big deal if he sat.

They should have taken a shot with Burfict.

  51. KoolKell Says:

Stupar’s name kind of surprised me.

  52. GG Says:

#48 i imagine Underwood will be a candidate for the new IR rule…being eligble to return to the 53 man roster.

  53. Marks hair Says:

    Nobody dropped a solid te?

  54. rob_raider Says:

Stupar sucked the whole time even the first part of the game last night. Then suddenly he started getting involved. Light went on. He could come back after DVD or chekwa are dealt.

    ===============

Evan Moore. More of a TE/WR hybrid player, though.

As I mentioned above, he was initially signed as a UDFA by the Pakcers in 2008, during McKenzie’s tenure there.

  56. Just Fire Baby Says:

DVD or Chekwa aren’t being dealt.

Who would give up ANYTHING for them?

  57. YoungAmerican Says:

If the Raiders are still looking to add a DE/OLB, Adrian Hamilton was cut by the Cowboys. He was impressive this preseason.

  58. Raidernationdave Says:

Nope….just a bunch of solid deuces.

  59. rob_raider Says:

No way we roll with 7 CB’s and 5 LB’s. 5dt’s makes sense b/c of Seymour.

  60. Raidernationdave Says:

    Impressive players don’t get cut.

  61. TxRaider210 Says:

Reggie aint done gents, would have liked Kilgore or Stupar to make it though.

  62. Just Fire Baby Says:

When Curry comes back, they will probably drop a DB, as the same if Jacoby can take over the return role, McCann could be cut by the end of September.

  63. RaiderDuck Says:

List of Players Who Shouldn’t Get Too Comfortable:

    Jamie Cumbie
    Coye Francies
    Lucas Nix

Cumbie and Nix could easily be re-signed to the PS if they’re bumped off the roster for someone else.

  64. Mr Green Says:

RegMac is bold. Keeping King is smart. But keeping the OC is unbold.

Like I said in my post game report live from Seattle last night, I’ll repeat, I want to see the Raidahs butt roast the chargers to dispell any doubt that Knapp is screwing up the offense. A butt roast is a must. A flat out roasting. Nothing less will be satisfactory.

  65. 504 Raider Says:

Saints have 5 tailbacks on roster and DA has major ties to the team. Maybe Reggie working on something for Pierre Thomas or Chris Ivory?

Also backup center/guard Matt Tennant was waived. A pretty solid player IMO.

  66. ron69 Says:

    Some Roster breakdown

Qb’s let’s hope Palmer doesn’t go down or will be a long season
    Rb’s same with Mcfadden
Te’s Not solid but not need to.
OL’s above average starting unit below average depth
Wr’s I think they are overrated i’d rank them about 20 from 32
Dl’s keeping 5 dt’s means they are not confident in Seymour’s health still team’s best unit
LB’s Wheeler has pro bowl potential could be best player by the end of the season i don’t like Burris too much but he won’t see the field against passing teams
DB’s cb’s easily team’s worst unit, after Bartell there are a bunch of number 4 and 5 cb’s sad to see Pat Lee is going to be the nickel corner.
ST’s after Lechler and Jano this is a highly suspect unit.
    Best case scenario 9-7
    worst case 3-13
It means we could easily go 6-10 and won’t be surprised.
Depth is a big concern here

Hello all, making my debut on this site, although I’ve been reading it for awhile. Raiders team could win the West or be dead last and a top 5 pick. Have to stay healthy because depth is a huge issue, especially at major skill positions. The Gut has a bit of work to do and this roster will not be the one to start the season. It’s round 2 of our offseason bargain hunting.

    _______________________________
He should retire but will hang on to collect $15M this year before signing with NE Patsies to retire as one. I sound like a broken record but we have AD to thank for Seymour’s contract situation to put us in this kinda bind. Another genius move which in terms of worst AD moves doesn’t even come close to his all time masterpiece of Walker’s contract but close.
