Stupar says he’s on practice squad

Linebacker Nathan Stupar said on his Twitter account he signed with the Raiders practice squad this morning.

Stupar had a big game against Seattle in the preseason finale with 11 tackles. He was the lone Raiders draft pick who failed to make the 53-man roster.

I’m not singling you out RRS,but it is pretty funny how whenever we keep a player that some people don’t like it is because they are on scholarship. It can’t be because the coaches see things slightly different and believe the player is just better than others.

  • RaiderRockstar

    Question:

Can any team pluck a member of the PS from the Raiders?

    ***

Yes, if he goes to thier 53 man roster

just cant jump from one PS to another!

he lacked the one major thing I like in qbs the clutch gene.

    *************************

    Mistic,

Than what was with your fascination of Soup?

The guy has around a 31% winning percentage in December for his career, compared to close to 60% in September.

He is maybe the most unclutch QB in the NFL.
    ======================================================
JCs production was in-line with his paycheck. The Raiders could have used the extra money to strengthen other positions or wait for a better QB to come along.

Carson is a good QB, I just wish he was 27 or 28

LOL that is the funny. Yeah for civil rights!

  • Just Fire Baby

Mistic places more value on if a guy throws a meaningless TD at the end of the game, than if he actually played good enough for the 60 minutes, to actually win the game.

I also posted his CAREER numbers, but yes he was one if the top in the nfl before he got hurt

    Thanks RRS,

I’m guessing now if the Raiders have a guy on PS that they really like but still developing, they could match an offer?

  • RaiderRockstar

    @ Lefty

this is Leinart’s 7th year in the league. If he was a rookie, 2nd or even 3rd year player making those mistakes or being that injury prone it’s not as big of a deal imo

how many FA visits did ML have before he signed here? how many offers on the table? How about the year before that?

Leinart had WR’s Boldin & Fitzgerald in AZ, ya know?

he flat out sucks, even if he is a system fit.

Kyle Boller was a system fit too in Hue Jack’s offense. Did you guys want him starting when Campbell went down?

only 1 guy did … Jhill

  • Mistic1 Tha Supavillain

I didn’t compare jc to breeze or Rodgers I did post the numbers last year that he had a higher 4th quarter rating higher than them last year before he got hurt. That’s all.

Jc doesn’t play here our playoff dreams broke in two along with his collar bone & the season was over, so was hu jck.

He did well here & should be respected as we havnt had a team that has looked as good since his injury.

Wish him well & let it go..

I’m out fellas do yourself a favor & check out tahj Boyd at Clemson. He is Jeff Garcia with a stronger arm & better feet

I see in 2010, in Raider games we were losing by 1-8 points, he put a 70 QB rating, but in games we were losing by more he posted a 98 QB rating.

Which comes as no suprise to me:

  • Mistic1 Tha Supavillain

No matter what anyone tries to say about jc he did more to lead to wins than his predecessor & his replacement.

That can’t be disputed it’s a matter of historical record.

I don’t know the exact amount, but it’s obvious that Seymour and Palmer have the highest salaries on the team, both journeyman veterans who, at least with Seymour, had some good seasons. I don’t know how much of % they both amount too in the overall payroll and caps, but I am sure is significant, and how much of those salaries are owed if they are waived or retired, in the case of Seymour.

So it would be obvious that Raiders fans would expect these two players to excel and put their respective units on their backs. If let’s say, either one of them still has another excellent year left in their tanks.

I know this is unrealistic for Seymour with arthritic knees or tendonitis to lead with his on the field play, for what it seems in pre-season, we’ll probably see limited action until he finally breaks down.

With Palmer, if indeed has another pro bowl-season like, it would merit the hope, but that was a long time ago, and he has been more in a decline in the last four years. Whether or not he has another one left in him, he’ll be highly exposed in the Knapp offense, unless DMAC is made the centerpiece of the offense, defenses will be coming after Palmer, he’d better be ready to move.

Thanks for the reply RTR, now I know.

JC was ok for this team and wasn’t consuming a huge part of the salary cap. He was a leader on a team that badly needed it.

But he’s gone now. Its Carson’s team and hopefully he plays to grade.

After last night I thought we needed an OL, a LB and an RB that are better than our last three guys on the roster. Sounds like we are on our way to 2 out those 3 so far.

    Zopi,

YOur post #71 pretty much sums it all up.

The Raiders have to get a lot of production from those guys getting the paycheck. Their play needs to match their pay expectations.

Palmer, Seymour and a few others should be among the top 5 or 10 at their position.

  • lefty12

RRS,when Leinart was in Ariz the reason he didn’t make it was he didn’t want to put in the work.He went to Hou. and they were happy with him.It was reported he realized what it would take to play in the league and he applied himself. He was a FA and followed his QB coach to the Raiders. You don’t know how many offers he had or who might have made them. What mistakes do you speak of?According to those that actually watched him in training camp,he was the most efficient QB in camp-better than superstar Pryor and better than the bum Palmer(sarcasm).Injuries happen. They aren’t the fault of the player.
