Ford won’t play Monday night

By Steve Corkran
Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at 5:25 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders declared wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Ford out of Monday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
That leaves the Raiders with only three receivers at 100 percent — Darrius Heyward-Bey, Derek Hagan and Rod Streater. Denarius Moore just returned from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for a little more than a month, and rookie Juron Criner still is bouncing back from an ankle injury.
It seems likely that Moore will be healthy enough to play against the Chargers, even if he isn’t at 100 percent. He looked sharp in practice Friday and is slated to go again tonight.
For now, it seems logical that Heyward-Bey and Moore will be the starters, with Streater and Hagan getting a fair amount of playing time.

– The following players are listed as questionable for Monday night’s game: left guard Cooper Carlisle (back), Criner (ankle), Moore (hamstring) and defensive tackle Richard Seymour (knee).
Tight end David Ausberry (shoulder), kicker Sebastian Janikowski (left groin), tight end Brandon Myers (shoulder) and guard Stefen Wisniewski (calf) are probable.

– Off to practice at the Coliseum, where the Raiders attempt to simulate the conditions in Monday night’s game. I shall post something from the proceedings later tonight.

Dr Knobbert, do you wear a Copenhagen shirt when you snuggle with Kell?
    **************

no clue how u come up with this connection w/ me and kell. i don’t have a problem w/ him but i don’t see where this comes from. another desperate attempt at “entertainment” by one of beeech’s toadies.

hmm. u idolize beeech. u find his talk of dumps and weiner cleanings “entertaining”. u enjoy hearing about eating out sweaty strippers and banging them when they pass out. no, ur not gay. because u talk about strippers, like u assume all real hetero men must. yeah, that’s the way to cover up ur…..”leanings”.

oh fuk. now txraider, the “playa on a budget”, is trying to rap. and just like pretty much all texas rappers, he blows

yes, and killing lots of people w/o proof. and big dumb hats. and steers. and qu….well, txraider probably knows about that more than i do.

  11. DJ Johnny Says:

It doesn’t look to me that Seymour will EVER be 100% again.

This guy is supposed to be a main cog in the defense and he’s “questionable” w/o even being injured?

If he’s in this condition in the offseason, after not even practicing how can we have any hope whatsoever he’s going to somehow “improve” his health.

What’s he gonna be like after he actually DOES play?

Are we to expect his knees will magically become better by going out and taking a beating on em in real games?

  12. raiderkoolaid Says:

Or what if he can’t pass a physical next year, are we still on the hook?

  13. Raidernationdave Says:

    Don’t need him

  14. raiderkoolaid Says:

I hope that he is just holding back, saving it for the season. We will find out.

  15. raiderkoolaid Says:

Don’t need him, but sure could use the salary cap space to sign more players.

  16. dr_robert Says:

i said a month ago i suspected seymour might retire. think about it. he didn’t practice or play for a couple weeks. came back to practice for a couple days, and is now questionable, so he must be hurting. he’s in no condition to play hard and contribute. a move to the PUP may be imminent.

  17. Raidernationdave Says:

We were on the hook for Seymours guarateed money. I think that Mckenzie just extended the amount to two year which lowered our cap hit and lowered Seymours taxes.

    I dont, not even close.

DA, the head coach, said whoever didn’t start at C would be the backup C/G swing guy. then he answered that yes, parsons had taken most of the 1st team reps for the last two days at C. wiz is the backup for now. perhaps, if carlisle or brisiel struggles, then he would be put in at G. eventually, i could see him going to LG and carlisle going to RG, b/c i’m not sure brisiel is all that. but, i guess for now, parsons is our C. this is the raiders, the team that had otto/dalby/mosebar/robbins for like 40 years. dan turk started one year between mosebar and robbins.

This Seymour stuff has me the most concerned about everything.

To be “questionable” and not having any injury to atribute it to? Just the fact he’s got “old knees”?

The problem I have with it is that the situation just seems hopeless.

I wish there was some injury we could point to in regard to his knees…that can be fixed…

Another concern is I worry he will not only ineffective and not help us, but that he is actually a liability…

Injuries more than anything else are the main things that have sapped my enjoyment of sports.

Bo Jackson? Probably the worst. He was such an awesome freaking running back….and getting that hip injured… it robbed us of yrs. of sports joy….specifically Raider joy.

Weren’t we supposed to have this new s and c coach that would help limit injuries or at least serve to have them not last as long?

It’s not the players fault, not the team doctors fault, but dangit i want to blame SOMEBODY>
Last yr.? DMAC, Moore,….Now THIS yr. with all the injuries…
