Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 51-yard field goal and Nate Kaeding countered with a 23-yard chip shot to account for the first half scoring.
The Raiders had the lone turnover of the quarter, a lost fumble by Rod Streater on the opening drive after the Raiders had driven 46 yards to the San Diego 30.

I love the way Palmer looks in this game so far. He is under control & spreading the ball around. He has not forced the ball into coverage & is playing a very solid game. If Palmer can become that guy on a consistent basis we can build on his effort.
Avoid the turnovers & even if we loose I will se it as major improvement.

Nice to see Gio 2 steps behind as per usual. Our secondary is garbage and will hinder us for the entire season. Weakest link in the chain is the pass defense in a passing league. This ain’t 1987….

Ok we are behind but I see a lot of positives so far.
1. DHB has clearly arrived and needs the ball more
2. Dmac looks fantastic and has not limped yet
3. Burris looks like he can play
4. romac look reborn
5. wheeler is super quick and our lbs unit is worlds better on the whole they are crushing the chargers run game. When was the last time we could say that
6. Palmer looks sharp and in charge. We are behind so he needs to resist the urge to force the ball. Keep taking the single coverage options and let the play makers do the rest. It will be rough with out ford and moore, but DHB and dmac can be enough as long as we dont turn the ball over

I wish he could just be the guy that he was for the first 14 mins of the game, when balls start bouncing off defenders its usually bad news.

Go for broke trying to do too much. He will definitely need those big runs…we obviously miss Bush punishing tacklers. Its going to be a frustrating, but in some ways hopeful season. Hang in there….lot of football left in the season…
Still a lot of baggage , in terms of cap space, and lost picks. – really need to get a succession of great picks that stick. Too many stop gaps – Hanson, Bartell, Giordano – imagine if we took Mark Barron, Alameda T’Amu and a elite corner like Janoris Jenkins….so it’ll be an up and down year again…unless McFadden breaks off an MVP type injury free year.
