is anyone else kinda surprised at the chosen games for the first monday night? i mean is the bengals/ravens game really that big of a draw? and two 8-8 teams from last year in the raiders/chargers? weird choices if u ask me. i’m like al david. i always suspect conspiracy. i get nervous that they “know something” and are setting us up for a tough start, trying to keep us from a hot start. but that’s probably cuz i’m too used to us not winning lately. and if we’re good, then it doesn’t fuking matter what they do.
or, by giving us a not-too-good chargers team at home, and miami next week, maybe they want us to do well, so they can make a big deal about al davis dying was a good thing for the raiders and they want to rub his legacy in the dirt. i don’t know. maybe i’ve been brainwashed by idolizing al for so long. FUK ‘EM ALL!

Well this is it, game day. time to put up or shut up. Honestly i see this season as a rebuild, i would be pleasantly surprised if we win more than 6 games this season. I do think the defense will be improved in terms of being disciplined and assignment ready, i am not sure the talent wont limit them however. The db’s in particular are quite unspectacular.
On offense it starts and ends with carson palmer, not for this game but for our season. we already know what dmac can do when healthy, we already know that DHB is our best receiver. we also know that the rest of the recieving core is fun to watch when healthy. what we dont klnow is which carson plamer we will get fom season to season, game to game quarter to quarter or even play to play.
Hopefully carson will figure out that he doesnt need to be a super star and just manages the games. these chargers are beatable and our last starter owned them. carson played his best game against them last year as well.
I hope he can play well in this game going in with confidence, and will be able to use it as a spring board for a decent season.

Saints place Johnathan Vilma on PUP list so he is out at least 6 weeks. It would be funny if he spent his 6 weeks on the PUP list and then The NFL got the appeals court ruling overturned, and Vilma had to start his suspension over.

Well this is it, game day. time to put up or shut up. Honestly i see this season as a rebuild, i would be pleasantly surprised if we win more than 6 games this season. I do think the defense will be improved in terms of being disciplined and assignment ready, i am not sure the talent wont limit them however. The db’s in particular are quite unspectacular.
On offense it starts and ends with carson palmer, not for this game but for our season. we already know what dmac can do when healthy, we already know that DHB is our best receiver. we also know that the rest of the recieving core is fun to watch when healthy. what we dont klnow is which carson plamer we will get fom season to season, game to game quarter to quarter or even play to play.
Hopefully carson will figure out that he doesnt need to be a super star and just manages the games. these chargers are beatable and our last starter owned them. carson played his best game against them last year as well.
I hope he can play well in this game going in with confidence, and will be able to use it as a spring board for a decent season.

you dont have to view it that way, even if we only win 6-8 games, if there is discipline smart play, turn overs are low, i will see it as improvement and improvement alone can also be enjoyed

Why should this be a rebuild year? If they can stay healthy the receiving corp is the fastest and one of the best in The NFL. We have the best RB in the NFL and a couple of pro bowl caliber O linemen. We have a good solid D line and we are real good at safety. Carson has been a successful QB in the past. The other positions still need to prove themselves, but that doesn’t mean they are going to be bad, so why should this be a rebuilding year?

It’s an offensive league now. Nothing wrong with a great defense but SB Champs had a very poorly rated D and GB (15-1) had worst stat D in the league…it DID however catch up to em in the playoffs.
A very good offense and an “average” d (stat wise) that forces some turnovers is a good recipe for success nowadays imo.

did you see the pre season? offense was completely lost. The team has also turned over the roster and it is razor thin, we really need depth.
I see this as a rebuild as carson learns the offense the oline gels to the scheme and we continue to evaluate hold overs from the hu jack era

Preseason means nothing. Just look at The Jets. The Raiders, or any other team except maybe Seattle, and we see how it went for them yesterday, is going to show you anymore than they have to in preseason.
