Going Back to Gregg Knapp's Offense has always been a plan for disaster. If you remember the last time he was here this all feels a little familiar. Fire Him now! As you heard them say during the game he learned something new in Houston (they fixed his bad offense?). No they didn't. Go back to blocking the way we know we can with the people we have. and let the coach we already have Al Saunders put a more appropriate offense in. At least one that is interesting to watch. This loss was all coaching. Lack of aggressive play calling. Allen has probably a lot to do with that being a defensive coach saying just don't hurt us.His defense was much better but philip rivers passes were on the money.

Hue had his flaws but his system was a much better fit for these players. They would have been better off sticking with Hue for another year and getting a new DC. Trying to cram this outdated "West Coast Offense" down everyones throat isnt going to work. Knapp has never been anything more than a mediocre OC, what made them think this time around would be any different?

Not sure why we messed with an offense that was so potent at times last year. Put last years O on the field with this years D, we win a LOT of games. Knapp is a complete idiot. His playbook reminds me of Tecmo Bowl or something. Just give it to DMac every single time; no need to throw the ball down field. No need to run a 3+ yard route when it's 3rd & 3; just run a 1/2 route and we'll leave it up to our Special Teams (which is MISSING a key player!!) Speaking of ST's, Steve Hoffman, if you're not fired by now, you should be this time tomorrow. Our ST's has underachieved up to this point and yesterday just brought it to light on national television. Dump Hoffman and Knapp ASAP (although i guess we're stuck with Knapp meaning this season could be over before it even began)

Defense WAS pretty stout. Phillys just threw perfect passes all game long. Offensive game plan was BUNK, and we can't seem to just get IT together. We always look so unprepared and commentators can't help but laugh. Dilfer and Berman went out of their way (I thought) to try and positively spin the Raiders play so far, but they ended up sharing chuckles after the half.

I was screaming at Streater to put 2 HANDS ON THE BALL, during that 1st drive......"BALL OUT"......GAWD DAMNIT! ! !
So it's gonna be one of those games is it? and it was......

Good Morning/Afternoon Nation!!!
First off...F the dam OPD and the P Lot staff for f'ing up another opening ninght/day experience! Took 2 hours to get in yesterday...2 hours!!!
2nd of all...sorry to DMAC, and others because my phone was tweaking bad...received a bunch of VM's but no missed calls, and I couldn't call out!
(and then someone dropped a whole tray of meat)
After that, it was like the Keystone Cops out there for a bit! But, yes, in year's past...that kind of game would have been more embarrassing!
I said it during the 3rd qtr that I could not believe that I wasted a day off...however, deep down, I would not give up a game day/night experience for anything!!!
With that said...GO RAIDERS (For Life and Beyond)!

I forgot, in past years a game like this would have been an absolute ROUTE. I'm talking 30-40 pt loss. the fact that we were in it and had a chance, an outside chance, but a chance to tie at the end says a lot about this years team i think...

I could be wrong but I looked for him and didn't see Wiz out there. He is our best interior lineman if he's healthy he needs to be on the field. I don't care how good his backup played preseason, it preseason. Having Wiz's toughness and intelligence in the middle of our line would/will help both our run and pass game going forward i think. Also, Palmer needs to at least make throws deep to keep the defense honest, second half they loaded up on DMC. Palmer had a good stat line, I thought he played OK, needs to take more chance (having D Moore and Ford's speed out there will help keep defenses honest). I thought playcalling was ok not great but definitely not terrible. I mean the one risk he took in the first half completely backfired for a 25 yd loss and that's not his fault as the play was wide open if reece and jones connect thats a huge gain. After something like that happens its normal to get a little conservative. Definitely became one dimensional which is concerning but when we get our players back i think that will change. Anyone who says you can't win in this league with a run heavy offense I personally believe is wrong because the Texans are run first (they actually run the exact same offense as us) and they are a favorite to win it all. Baltimore has been run first for many years and look how many wins they have. SF is run first and they are winning right now. Last yr before mcfadden got hurt we were run first and we were 5-2.
I honestly believe if Condo doesn't get hurt we win this game. That was huge! not only because they had GREAT field position everytime, but that also meant we started from the 20 EVERY time and driving 80 yds in the NFL is not easy. Lechler's the best punter in the league I have to believe if he's able to get off those punts he switches the field position battle and that would have changed the whole game. I thought our defense played pretty much lights out. gave up a few big plays, but unlike years past, we didn't let those big plays turn into TD's (except once). to be put in the situation our D was put in today against a very potent offense and only give up one TD, that was impressive to me. Talk about the pass rush all you want, yes that is important, but what do ALL of the best defenses in the league have in common, they are all stout against the run. OUr defense was really stout against the run today. I saw a completely different Rolando McClain than the past two years. He was shooting gaps, smashing running backs at the line of scrimmage, very promising. as the article says our LB's were ALL OVER THE FIELD today. Wheeler did a prettty good job on gates too, not great but pretty good. A lot of Gates plays came against our safeties (which isn't good) but our LB's were money tonight and if our D can play like this all season, I know our special teams isn't gonna play that bad, it's literally impossible, and our O will find a rhythm especially when we get our best players out there. We will be OK. there's no reason to hit the PANIC/"let's throw TP in the game" button. Calm down with all that. We ran a pretty conservative game plan and Palmer still almos tthrew for 300 yds without his #1 and #3 receivers, c'mon with all that bench palmer talk. It's week one. I don't think the panthers are talking about benchin Cam Newton right now and Palmer's stats were better than his. It's week 1 ppl. New Orleans and Green Bay both lost, I don't think they are panicking right now. That's just my thoughts on last night. Feel free to dissect and disagree.
