Raiders make four moves

Press release Saturday afternoon from the Raiders . . .
The Oakland Raiders have made four roster moves prior to their Week 2 contest at Miami Sunday.
The team on Saturday promoted both cornerback Coye Francies and long-snapper Nick Guess from the team’s practice squad, placed wide receiver Jacoby Ford on season-ending reserve/injured, and placed cornerback Ron Bartell on the NFL’s new reserve/injured list that allows him to return later this year.
Francies (fran-SEES), claimed by the Raiders off waivers prior to the final preseason game and waived on Sept. 6, was added to the practice squad on Wednesday. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Francies played in eight games with the Cleveland Browns from 2009-10 and spent training camp with the Seattle Seahawks this season.
Guess was also signed to the Raiders’ practice squad on Wednesday. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound rookie was in training camp with the San Diego Chargers after signing this offseason as a non-drafted free agent out of Tennessee.
Ford, who injured his foot in a preseason contest at Arizona Aug. 17, underwent surgery on Tuesday. Bartell fractured his shoulder blade in the first half of Monday’s season-opener vs. San Diego.
Bartell under the new NFL rule is allowed to return to practice Oct. 27 and could play as early as Nov. 11 at Baltimore. Each team now is allowed to designate one player with a major injury, defined as a setback that keeps that player from practicing or playing for at least six weeks from the date it occurred, as eligible for reactivation later in the same season.

Im a kebab person myself. I eat it multiple times a week. There isnt much variety here in Italy so Turkish food has had to substitute for all the Japanese, Mexican, Korean, and Vietnamese food I used to eat.

I am concerned about the Miami front 7. They have a pretty good defense against the run.

She’d have to qualify as hot first. Ive seen her in person, like most celeb’s you meet, they arent as good in person.
The only one Ive ever met that surpassed preconceived notions was Pam Anderson. She was uncomfortably beautiful to stand next to. Had almost a aura about her.
Most everyone else Ive met was a huge letdown. Biggest one ever was Tyra Banks. I used to have a HUGE crush on her.

I don’t know if true..but his contract was WAY OVERDUE to be restructured.
There is a lot of money on the floor to be cleaned up.

It’s not me. My kid’s life is too valuable to be wasted/ sacrificed for greed, beliefs, etc.. I lived in KY, Ohio, and I know there are some great people who are not interested in politics, culture, etc… They just want to farm/ hunt, work, own a home, and have some fun. They don’t understand or have a clue about foreign policies or what the gov is doing (unless it involves their town), and they only know what they hear from media/ teachers/ parents/ etc.
I feel sorry for those kids and their families.

Seriously about Balfour though, I have never seen a closer so incredibly animated and seemingly insane on the mound before.

He tried to keep Moss. He tried to talk AD out of drafting Jamarcus and instead getting Megatron. He tried to modernize our D scheme by bringing his dad in.

When is the last time a good or great QB came from a situation in college where they were surrounded by superior talent and everything was perfect? I cant think of one.
The guys that seem to survive the NFL meat grinder are the ones who have faced real adversity, have played with inferior talent and had to learn to lead them and make those around them better, and didnt have the sense of entitlement that comes from being raised in Orange County and then playing at USC.
To be honest, Palmer is the only QB I can think of off the top of my head that has played at an elite level in his career to have come from that posh upbringing.

And I don’t “love” the ZBS, I honestly don’t know enough about blocking technique to have a dog in the fight.
If we run ZBS, I am down with ZBS. We run power, I am down with the power.
But either one doesn’t limit an offenses ability to score, IMO, if done correctly.

Yea man I wasnt too happy myself but I could only imagine howe mad I would have been if I would have been able to make it. For sure missing a real Pass Rusher on the D-Line. Barnes looks like he’s wearing Ice Skates and Briesel isnt helping too much either. Im a big Streater fan but we need to stretch the field alot better than we did last week. Im worried about Miami’s Defensive line. I seen alot of Positives but way too many Negatives…..Yessss I call Miami a must win… I do not want to be 0-2 facing Big Ben

U.S. Aid to Israel: What U.S. Taxpayer Should Know

This morning as I was walking down Shuhada Street in Hebron, I saw graffiti marking the newly painted storefronts and awnings. Although three months past schedule and 100 percent over budget, the renovation of Shuhada Street was finally completed this week. The project manager said the reason for the delay and cost overruns was the sabotage of the project by the Israeli settlers of the Beit Hadassah settlement complex in Hebron. They broke the street lights, stoned project workers, shot out the windows of bulldozers and other heavy equipment with pellet guns, broke paving stones before they were laid and now have defaced again the homes and shops of Palestinians with graffiti. The settlers did not want Shuhada St. opened to Palestinian traffic as was agreed to under Oslo 2. This renovation project is paid for by USAID funds and it makes me angry that my tax dollars have paid for improvements that have been destroyed by the settlers.
Most Americans are not aware how much of their tax revenue our government sends to Israel. For the fiscal year ending in September 30, 1997, the U.S. has given Israel $6.72 billion: $6.194 billion falls under Israel’s foreign aid allotment and $526 million comes from agencies such as the Department of Commerce, the U.S. Information Agency and the Pentagon. The $6.72 billion figure does not include loan guarantees and annual compound interest totalling $3.122 billion the U.S. pays on money borrowed to give to Israel. It does not include the cost to U.S. taxpayers of IRS tax exemptions that donors can claim when they donate money to Israeli charities. (Donors claim approximately $1 billion in Federal tax deductions annually. This ultimately costs other U.S. tax payers $280 million to $390 million.)
When grant, loans, interest and tax deductions are added together for the fiscal year ending in September 30, 1997, our special relationship with Israel cost U.S. taxpayers over $10 billion.
Since 1949 the U.S. has given Israel a total of $83.205 billion. The interest costs borne by U.S. tax payers on behalf of Israel are $49.937 billion, thus making the total amount of aid given to Israel since 1949 $133.132 billion. This may mean that U.S. government has given more federal aid to the average Israeli citizen in a given year than it has given to the average American citizen.
I am angry when I see Israeli settlers from Hebron destroy improvements made to Shuhada Street with my tax money. Also, it angers me that my government is giving over $10 billion to a country that is more prosperous than most of the other countries in the world and uses much of its money for strengthening its military and the oppression of the Palestinian people.

I can’t shake the feeling now that the Raiders don’t have winning is their primary objective this yr.
Just the way Knapp talks and DA talks and what Reggie is saying…DA didn’t even say he was disappointed at his presser.
It almost looks like they are more concerned about setting up this new “system” and if we win…well fine, if we lose…well ‘how is the system coming along’?
It doesn’t make sense to me…but that’s the vibe i’m getting. I’m sick of fighting it.
The reason they signed Branch is he’s one of the guys they see in the future here. I don’t get Seymour still being here though. DMAC is part of the future and there are some others.
Like I said, it doesn’t make sense to me but that’s what I think is going down.

DJ, keep your head up bro. If they weren’t so concerned about winning this year, they would have parlayed some of their proven vets/stars for future draft picks. They didn’t. Heck, they have even said they feel the team can compete now. Mark Davis also said as much. I think the expectation is definitely to win now while setting themselves up for future success as well. I think we’re used to a balls-to-the-wall style from Al Davis. The new regime is trying to make sure we don’t mortgage the future for a risky gamble now.

I’m a fan of Carson Palmer and honestly, if i were him..i would get the hell out of here.
While DA and Knapp are dicking around with installing this “new system” Palmer is gonna be straddled with a team that is going nowhere and a management that is just fine with it.
Palmer doesn’t have much more time to leave a mark; which he undoubtedly would like to do. How he can’t see the writing on the wall is perplexing, but he would do well to try and be available for a different team that cares most about winning NOW.
Maybe he’s just settling for what’s going on cuz there really is nothing else out there for him…I don’t know.

Tomorrow is Knapp’s judgement day – at least by the fan base. If he loses, everybody will be screaming for his head. If he doesn’t win convincingly, his head will still be in jeopardy. If he wins big time, the patience he’s been asking for will be granted. In a sense, even though it is really how the actual players execute, if the fan base is not satisfied with the game’s results, SCHIT WILL HIT THE FAN. Reggie & DA may not respond to the fans but the fans will let them hear them by NOT attending future games. Blacked out games are not good for business & Raider management knows that.
I personally do NOT have confidence in Knapp. I thought all along that Saunders should have been named OC if for no other reason of consistency. Reggie & A thought differently. I just hope DA’s friendship with Knapp doesn’t come back & bite him in the a$$. Tomorrow will tell.

Are you an American? I’m Arab/ American (my parents were immigrants who were naturalized citizens). They immigrated from Palestine, not from Jordan.
The new countries, borders, and names to the area were given after the end of ottoman empire/ arabic revolt/ Balfour promise.
My point as an American is we should focus on us more and not support other countries with their wars regardless of who they are (Palestine or Israel) when we don’t have free health and free upper level education.
Don’t they have free health in Israel? Why should we support a country that has free health when we tell our people we can’t afford to have free health and education unless we increase our taxes?
