Klas, you are a sh!tbag tr0ll on a new alias.
true or false?
September 16th, 2012 at 8:45 am
Riff.
Just so you know, I enjoy the back and forth, no hard feelings right?.
That being said, you told us that on MNF the Chargers were taking away the deep ball by playing 2 deep Safeties and we could not run right at them because their LB’s were selling out to stop the run, so Knapp kept calling plays over the soft middle which was wide open.
Question is, wasn’t that SD’s Defensive game-plan all along? and didn’t we play right into their hands by taking what was there?.
You know, they were probably happy to let us dink and dunk and pick up some yards, limit us to FG’s if possible……..as long as we didn’t establish the running game or make big-plays down the field?.

Hey Becker, good morning!
Question:
Why don’t you ban KK when he uses racial slurs like “cracker” or “sand monkey” ?
I look forward to your reply…

Did you blame Gruden for Gannon getting hurt by Siragusa? No. So why blame the DA for a freak injury like Condo’s. It’s just not a common thing.
$$$$$$$$$$
I blamed DA & Hoffman for an injured Raider, or I’m blaming them for not having a player prepared (Goethlel). It’s simple so don’t make it rocket science.
It’s a fair question to ask our coaches:
If our backup LS doesn’t practice during the week, what else are we not practicing?

If that’s all it takes, it’s going to be a long year. Tired of the excuses. If this offense doesn’t produce, it’s a failure. End of story. Don’t care if the defense did this or that. We have the players to be successful. If it fails, it’s on Knapp. Plain and simple.
I think some folks like to look through rose colored glasses as a coping mechanism. Then once the coach or player is realized, all hats are off and the dissing begins. See it all the time in here.

———–
Hard feelings with you? Not at all. My life is great. Its sunny and Im eating Italian pasta tonite. Nobody on a blog is going to get me that bent out of shape.
I just know youre one of the smarter members here. Ive put things a million different ways to get you to see what is up and yet you still want to find a way to blame Knapp instead of just letting the evidence make the decision for you. It’s not your style.
But to answer your question….
SD’s gameplan was indeed that all along. But it is highly likely that they were expecting CP3 to eventually fall into his old ways and not be able to hold back from sending one deep. He did it a couple times in the preseason where he was baited into an INT.
SD doesnt have a bunch of pro bowlers on their team. They had to try and work with our weaknesses. Testing Palmer’s discipline and shutting down the run were their top two priorities.
Once they realized that CP3 wasnt taking the bait, they moved the safeties up and the CB’s relaxed a bit. But they never relaxed their LBs. It’s all on tape, go watch it again.
When they moved the Safeties up, CP3 did what elite QB’s do and he tried hitting them where it hurt. We had guys stretching the field on over half of our pass plays. That is why it is so funny when people call us a dink and dunk WCO. It didnt look like that to me. It looked like a Sid Gilman / WCO hybrid. But in reality, those two systems are more alike than the average fan knows. They both operate on the same principles, just one stretches the field wide, the other deep. Both are intented to dink and dunk until the defense cant take it anymore and they start to tighten things up, then you hit them deep. And you can do it on any play because on every play, someone is going deep. And with a QB of Palmers caliber, he knows before the ball is snapped what the D is trying to do. He rarely gets fooled by a team that lacks talent like SD did. You have to have talent if you really want to disguise things the way Pitt and Baltimore do.
If a defense ABSOLUTELY refuses to bring their safeties up (which is highly unlikely after youve scored on 3-4 early drives) then any OC will gladly just rack up the field goals. Long dink and dunk drives eventually take their toll on a defense and by the 2nd half, they are tired and the run game will open up. That is why defenses ALWAYS adjust and dont just let another team FG them to death.
The problem with us is, most teams expect us to implode so they dont have to adjust. We stop imploding and we will start dominating again. We have as much talent as anyone in the league. We may not be deep, but we are beyond capable of a SuperBowl run if we start playing to our potential.
How is that for a breakdown?
September 16th, 2012 at 9:15 am

I didnt like Knapp either. Then I started doing some research. The evidence changed my opinion. Its a shame that you will stick to your beliefs regardless of what transpires.
You want him gone after 1 game, yet we’re supposed to give DHB, Kelly, and the rest more time? These guys have had all the time in the world under the old reggime. Its time to put up or get out. Right now, Knapp has the tools and he’s been pulling his weight, the others havent.
From what Ive seen, Im confident that Knapp isnt a bad coach, and wont forget how to coach over the course of the season. He’s gonna be here a while. Boo him all you want and see if that makes it better.
Meanwhile, Reggie will be getting players in here that dont choke when needed most.

Not early on. Not with the way their LBs were playing.
All we had to do, if everything else wasnt falling apart, was continue running just to keep them honest and in case they tried to relax their LBs. The ZBS would have taken care of the rest, especially late in the game.
But for what they were doing and what we were doing, Power or Zone, it didnt matter. We werent going to be able to run either way until they got tired or they relaxed their LBs. That required long drives of just exploiting the soft spots in their coverage.
If you think that power running from the start would have changed things, youre dead wrong.

Counter what? We have the talent to dictate. They had inferior talent. Its up to us to execute so that they counter.
There is no counter for players that cant execute. Not during a game at least. Roster counters are done in the offseason. We have who we have. Its time they show up.

September 16th, 2012 at 9:29 am
I hope I am wrong, but when it comes to McFadden, he didn’t do so hot last time Knapp was here, or even with cable. Then Hue came in and started calling plays that he liked, and BAM! he explodes into scene. Now Knapp is back, and after the first game, we already see the same. He might benefit from the passing game, but when it comes to the run, I don’t think he will be the beast he was last year. Plus if Knapp rides him the way he did last week all season, McFadden won’t last past week 5.

It means that Reggie reviewed the season with DA and found Knapp to be the problem. So yeah, you can say you were in line with our GM and you were right.
But if things continue like Monday and the preseason, when they sit down and review the tape, Reggie and DA will see that the right calls were made at the right times. And if we just had players that could run the right routes, Knapps offense would have worked.
If our players continue to not execute, it will be them that are long gone and not Knapp. Im 100% confident in that.
Knapp isnt just going to forget how to coach. And Reggie isnt going to let the players off the hook.
The old guy is gone. Its modern football now. Players will be held accountable. I know none of us Raider fans knows what that looks like so it is difficult to adjust too and handle, but in time, you’ll see I am right.

Are you kidding me?
Ours didnt work because Streater fumbled. Then the Reece play.
Then when they moved the safeties up, DHB ran the wrong route and later dropped a catchable (but difficult) ball and so did Streater.
Our gameplan worked to perfection, we never executed to force their adjustments. So they didnt have to adjust. Our game plan got us exactly what we wanted, we never seized the moment.
If you really dont think I answered your question, Im seriously beginning to have my doubts about you.

Take the UNDER in today’s Raider vs Miami game!
September 16th, 2012 at 9:48 am
Today is Knapp’s judgement day – at least by the fan base. If he loses, everybody will be screaming for his head. If he doesn’t win convincingly, his head will still be in jeopardy. If he wins big time, the patience he’s been asking for will be granted. In a sense, even though it is really how the actual players execute, if the fan base is not satisfied with the game’s results, SCHIT WILL HIT THE FAN. Reggie & DA may not respond to the fans but the fans will let them hear them by NOT attending future games. Blacked out games are not good for business & Raider management knows that.
I personally do NOT have confidence in Knapp. I thought all along that Saunders should have been named OC if for no other reason of consistency. Reggie & A thought differently. I just hope DA’s friendship with Knapp doesn’t come back & bite him in the a$$. We’ll all know soon how to react to Knapp’s Dink & Dunk O.

September 16th, 2012 at 9:51 am
If we’re gonna lose today than I hope it’s big.
I’d rather lose by 20 pts. than lose by some last second fg today….or a Jano botched 40 yarder or something.
Reason why is if it’s close, than everyone will say all the “good things” we can glean from the game and how we “essentially won” and how things are looking up, and it’s “still early’ and all that other b.s.
If we are to lose big, than it would be a huge humiliation and make people realize what we’re doing is not working and we need to change some things.
Of course i’d rather we just win the dam game.
September 16th, 2012 at 9:52 am
Knapp still thinks we are in presea, he will show a little more of his playbook today.
I want to see improvement game to game.
We should look better in all facets of the game today.
Especially want to see a good half time adjustment scheme.

Oakland Raiders DT Tommy Kelly agreed to a restructured contract that will free up $3.45 million in cap space for the team. In the restructure, Kelly reduced his base salary to the league minimum ($825,000) and the remaining $5.175 million was split between a $2.175 million signing bonus and a $3 million roster bonus, both of which will be prorated over the next three seasons. Kelly’s cap numbers in 2013 and 2014 will both increase by $1.75 million, reaching a high $11.099 million next season.

Riff,
I hope you are right. But I doubt it. I want to score points and win games. I don’t like to fire coaches and lack stability, but that’s not an excuse to tolerate losing and problems. You win the game by scoring more than your opponent, so if you are having issues with scoring, then you have a huge problem that will cost you your season.
Dude, I’m sick of losing!
———————
Does it not sound like Im sick of losing? Im as sick as you are.
Im also sick of not holding the players accountable. Lets try something new for once. We cant blame Chucky B anymore.
You are so focused on scoring. You think Knapp isnt? How is he supposed to do that with 3 botched punts and two fumbles in the first half?
I’ll say it again, you are asking for magic if you want a team that doesnt have to execute in order to score. You cant win games when losing both the field position battle and turnover battle.
You’ll see, when Knapp is still here next year and some of our “athletes” are not.
Or, we can boo our team at home games. That seems to be what most here are advocating. Boo Knapp til he gets fired. That is treason. Straight up treason.

DMO is going to ball out.
One thing that is forgotten in all this is the chemistry between QB & WR’s.
Also what is underestimated is the chemistry between the WR’s on the field, these guys make each other better when they play.
The biggest benefactor with DMO coming back, should be DHB.
I expect ALL the WR’s to play big today.

We sure showed up at Miami last year huh?

How about when DHB fumbled within the 20 against Detroit on what would have been a score that would have put the game away.
Our players let Hue down then too. If they dont shape up, they wont be around next year. Reggie aint no dummy. He can watch film and isnt in love with any of these guys the way Al used to worship them.

We’re stopping Bush and still getting our A$$ kicked.
September 16th, 2012 at 10:23 am
Looks like Joe Montana at QB for Miami.
September 16th, 2012 at 10:23 am
Ever been in that situation when your car is an old piece of sch!t but you have some financial trouble and need to nurse it along for a year before getting a better one?
That’s the 2012 Oakland Raiders. Reggie patched together a team with scotch tape and popsicle sticks because he had 47 cents in cap space.
September 16th, 2012 at 10:24 am
Not having real Corners is going to kill us all season.. Match that with lackluster playcalling and we can be in for a long long season….
September 16th, 2012 at 10:24 am
If Tannehil can throw for first downs, we are in trouble….
September 16th, 2012 at 10:24 am
Burris goes out, run game stiffens up. Geez, I might know what Im talking about huh?

Really? Seems like Tannehill, who was in college last year, is the guy we need to stop.

It’s starting to look that way, no?
September 16th, 2012 at 10:24 am
Pat Lee benched. Joselio Hanson is a natural slot guy forced to the outside. This will be a long day.
If Tannehill is doing this imagine what Ben Roethlisberger and Peyton Manning will do
September 16th, 2012 at 10:24 am
wow…havent seen the pass d this horrible…ever
September 16th, 2012 at 10:25 am

September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am
Miami stinks….. even if we win we still are no playoff team.
September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am
Oh good, now we can go on a 93yrd drive to prove a point.
September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am
Outcoached once again
September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am
Our DBs are getting more aggresive. Theyre going to go deep soon.
September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am
Is it just me, or are we playing noticeably better run defense when some combo OTHER than Seymour-Kelly is in?
September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am
reggie doesnt get a pass…al manipulated the cap every year…reggie just isnt smart enough
September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am

September 16th, 2012 at 10:26 am
Absolutely no passrush still.
September 16th, 2012 at 10:27 am

All those two have ever been interested in is rushing the passer and they aren’t very good at that anymore.
Plus I really believe they both believe that, as veterans, they’re “above” coaching.

September 16th, 2012 at 10:28 am
Just tuned in…7 zip already and Miami driving? Who scored? Looks like no pressure in Tannys face. If Raiders don’t score in the 1st half, I’m out..don’t want to waste my Sunday. I’ll have to adjust the record to 3-13 if they lose this.
