Third quarter review: Dolphins 21, Raiders 10

After three more punts between the Raiders and Dolphins, the Dolphins finally took advantage of the short field they have been playing with for most of the game.
A punt return gave the Dolphins the ball at the Raiders 44-yard line early in the third quarter. Four plays later, the Dolphins faced a third-and-one from the Raiders 23.
Running back Reggie Bush bounced off a tackle attempt by Tyvon Branch at the line of scrimmage, then ran through tackle attempts by safety Michael Huff and Shawntae Spencer on his way to a touchdown that gave the Dolphins a 14-10 lead.
The Raiders responded with a drive that reached near midfield. Shane Lechler was called on to punt for the seventh time three plays later.
Three plays later, it was Bush again. This time, he got to the left sideline, turned the corner and outraced Tyvon Branch, Michael Huff and Joselio Hanson for a 65-yard touchdown.
The Raiders closed out the quarter with a promising drive that has reached the Dolphins 10-yard line, thanks in part to a long punt return by Phillip Adams.
The Raiders have a third-and-four from the 10 to start the fourth quarter. Denarius Moore is out right now with cramps.

No, it’s because we’re a sane organization now: one where the owner does not dictate who the offensive coordinator is. DA will be held accountable for hiring Knapp, and Reggie will be held accountable for hiring DA.

This is on the defensive play calling. Last week they allowed Gates to run in one on one coverage on 3rd downs. Now the have the DB’s playing 7 yards off of the line on 3rd downs, with everyone else on the line. Stupid defensive play calling continues. Bump them on the line. Damn..

WRs have been getting separation a little bit more than last week, but even then… with no running game, there’s only so much you can do. Cutback lanes have been clogged all day. Very unimpressive blocking, and McFadden looks lost in the new running scheme.

Plus why would you not have any packages for Terrell Pryor?! He’s not even activated. Then you cut all our DBs right before the season starts; DVD and Chekwa. This is by far my most disappointing day as a Raiders fan.

For those of you using the excuse that Hue lost to Miami, his offense looked MUCH better last year. There was explosiveness. Unpredictability. Excitement. Ability to SCORE A TOUCHDOWN. Even with D-Mac injured for half the year. With a remotely competent defense, we go to the playoffs last year. I would have loved to seen what Hue could’ve done with a decent defense and a full offseason with Carson Palmer and healthy D-Mac.

Knapp, DA and their change to ZBS has absolutely destroyed our offense. DMac and ZBS are incompatible – PERIOD. I don’t see them changing back to power blocking this year or possibly ever so that must mean DMac is not in their future. DMac will be gone next year.
I like DA but bringing in Knapp, Pollack & Hoffman, DA’s picks, was the total undoing of this team. Reggie needs to step in and fix the asst. coaching problem.

Its ironic how it seems that Coordinators that we previosly fired in the past and re-hired, have come back to haunt us Bresnahan who no other NFL team wanted. Or Knapp who other teams didn’t want. This is a tank job Raidernation. Plkain and simple. We should have seen it coming when they brought Knapp back. We wanted to believe so bad that we drank the Kool-Aid. We should have seen it when we let Wimbley and Routt go this offseason. We should smelled a rat when we cut our two 2nd year DB’s right before the first game of the season. I can go on and on,but the point is that this is the lowest moment in Raiders history.

In case you haven’t looked lately, we need a team that’ll be better than 8-8 or 9-7 to make it, what with Mr. Manning now in Denver. So, those thinking Hue was the answer–go blow.
