Its more for all the games. I just got the Raiders.
Ok, so $100 is just to watch Raider games? Sorry bro, just asking…can’t really access anything from work

I had to do it cause Im overseas. No other way to watch the game without pop-ups.
Plus, I like to watch them a few times over.
That is true, I forgot you were overseas.

“Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.” Mahatma Gandhi
Winning teams have players that make plays when given the opportunity. We used to know what that looked like.
This blog is home to officially the dumbest fans in sports. Im convinced.
You guys are so trained in the Al Davis way.
According to the mob, “Reggie is to blame” because he didnt mortgage the future even more and go sign another bust free agent.
According to the mob, “The coaching staff is to blame” because our players once again showed no heart and folded in the second half.
I used to be anti-Knapp until I saw the way CP3 was being treated by you dolts during the preseason. Despite 3 dropped TD passes, you guys wanted him gone. So I started to question why everyone hated Knapp, especially since we were moving the ball fine. You guys had made up your mind long before a ball was ever snapped and so despite anything our players do wrong, you will stick to your belief on the matter rather than actually watch the game from an objective viewpoint.
NONE of you are qualified to judge talent or break down a defense, yet you think you can just by looking at the raw numbers. If youre one of those people, consider yourself stupid as FVCK. Think about it again, you are literally judging people in a position that you have never done yourself and dont have the slightest clue on. That is the definition of stupidity.
Here’s a bit of info for you losers, coaches dont throw away gameplans mid-game. Especially when they are working. If the team is moving the ball down the field, and a player fumbles the ball (Streater) you dont scrap the gameplan that you spent all week preparing. You stick with it and hope the players dont screw up. If they fumble the reverse (Reece) you dont scrap the gameplan either. If your DBs miss 4 easy tackles against Reggie Bush, you dont scrap your defensive gameplan. It was working, your players werent. You stick with what you prepared for just like Miami did against us. You idiots dont have a clue how a game plan is prepared during the week. Yet you think that there is some sort of magic halftime adjustments that we should have made. We had nearly 200 yds of offense and were winning at the half. If DMC catches the easy screen we are up 14-7 and getting the ball back. YOU DONT NEED TO ADJUST ANYTHING. Miami sure as hell didnt. They stuck with their gameplan because they knew eventually we would fold just like we always do. Our opening drive of the 2nd half Palmer misses Moore on a wide open play. Again, what is their to adjust when all you need is the QB to make a basic throw.
But after a while, when the mistake begin to pile up, what the hell is a OC supposed to do. You dont set your scheme up planning on it not working because your guys choke. Mistakes happen, sure, but when they happen on nearly every possession, the OC’s hands are tied. I know this may be a surprise to some of you clowns, but there is no magic 80 play just sitting in the back of the playbook that the coach is saving for when times get tough. This isnt Madden on the XBox. You score points with 10-15 play drives. If that is too much to ask, then your players are garbage. The only time you see plays of 20 yards or more is when their is a breakdown by the other team. There are no plays designed for more than that. Coaches are too conservative, all of them. But none of you jackals would know that. The typical Raider fan wants all go routes on 1st down every drive. And if that doesnt result in a TD. Then they want that other magic play that all good OCs just keep in their back pocket and save for only when things get rough. Its a magic play that is so “creative” no defense can stop and no offensive player can screw up.
The bottom line is that the opposing team made plays when put into position too. We found ways to drop passes in the red zone. They make less mistakes than we do, and make more plays. Yet some of you want a system designed where DMC doesnt have to catch that ball and the OLine doesnt have to block for him the rest of the game. If youre one of those people, slap yourself for being so dumb.
4 guys had a chance to tackle Bush on his first TD. But that isnt enough apparently. Tarver should have called a “different special scheme”.
Reggie Bush runs a 64 yard TD. The Dolphins dont commit a stupid penalty. We run two huge punts back, and our guys get called for penalties and its brought back. That is the difference between a winner and a loser. If you cant see that, you are dumb as hell.
Our players find ways to lose. Always have and always will until we turn over a new leaf.
The average so-called Raider fan here would rather lose the Raider way, then win by any means necessary.
The Raider way constitutes 40 yard bombs on first down and lord knows what other magic you guys expect out of our limited roster. We have the worst average starting field position in the league.
Sorry, this is the NFL. That crap doesnt work anymore. Al was welcome to get out of the owners box and onto the sideline himself at any time if he thought his system was so great. But he didnt. He sat there and meddled and micro managed from afar. Newsflash, that isnt how you win in the NFL and Reggie isnt going to be that kinda guy either.
Palmer isnt blaming the system. DMC isnt blaming the system. Yet you guys are. So if you disagree with DMC, you are dumb as FVCK. DMC came into the league a ZBS running back. He’s excelled in it before. But the dummies will ignore it because it doesnt fit the agenda.
The OLine is not doing their job. Its not because they are not capable (tho that is debatable) it is because they are just getting beat off the ball like a bunch of pu55ies.
Teams know our OLine has no push. They will continue to key in on DMC. They will continue to give us the soft pass. And if we continue to drop passes, miss blocks, and make mistakes, we will find ourselves down in the 2nd half where we will be in pass-only situations. And then our OLine really goes to work in trying to get Palmer killed.
You guys are mad that Reece has no special packages. Blame Reece. The lazy fvck held out of the OTAs when everyone and their mother knew he was in a position he could not win. He had no reason to hold out other than to avoid being there. He eventually got his deal, just like he always was going too. But blame Reggie, just like you blame him for Wimbley getting out of dodge. As if Reggie was going to “convince” Wimbley to take a pay cut of several million dollars. This is beyond asinine.
But go ahead and blame a system you arent qualified to pick apart. If what Im saying here pisses you off, it is because the truth hurts.
And if youre one of the idiots clamoring for a mid season scheme change, do the gene pool a favor and castrate yourself. Im tired of sugar coating things for you dumba55es. Nothing but a bunch of $50 a month internet connections and 10 cent brains. Im done playing nice, if you say something stupid, Im calling you out for it.
Im done with this blog. I dont mind being around idiots. But this place takes it to another level. If I continue to sit here and try to convert the stubborn and dumb into educated and informed, then Im a idiot no different than the rest of you.
This transition to respectability is going to be tough for a lot of you to deal with. You think our 8-8 team last year should have been 10-6 when we easily could have been 4-12. I feel everyones pain. Im hurting just like the rest of you. But you wont see me boo’ing my coaching staff and causing a player revolt. We’ve tried that in years past and that got us what? Nothing.
Hue had the same problems. Our offensive players let him down plenty when it counted. You wont remember that. Just like you wont remember that he wanted to gut this roster as much as Reggie does at the moment.
Its time the players look themselves in the mirror and decide who they are.
They watch the film. And it doesnt lie. They know the mistakes they are making. The coaches are pointing it out. And for the first time in their careers, they dont have daddy Al to run too.
This team can turn it around at any point it wants. And it will. When it finally realizes Al is gone. They havent realized it. You guys still live in denial as well.
I hope Reggie stays the course and doesnt buckle to you jackals that plan on boo’ing our team off the field against Pitt. Cause Im sick of the losing attitudes. Im sick of Tommy Kelly whining about not knowing what happened. You know damn well what happened fat-boy. Your mates made Reggie Bush look like Earl Campbell on his first TD run. Your D-Line got just one sack on a rookie QB that wont win 4 games total this year. Our LBs were out of place and let them walk down our throats on the opening drive. Our CBs played 15 yards off of one of the worst WR corps in the history of the league.
Cant convert on 3rd down? That is because on 3rd & 7, DHB runs a 5 yard route. And instead of just falling forward and easily picking up the next 6 feet needed, he dances around and two guys have the time to swarm him. You guys want deeper routes? Their are WRs running longer routes. But they run them sloppy. And Our OLine has to hold up for longer to give Palmer time. He’s going to his hot read because in obvious pass situations, our OLine doesnt hold up to a simple 5 man rush even if the RB stays in to help. It is 6 against 4 and we still get beat. But I know some of you have trouble counting so Iets ignore our O-Lines inability to win the battle even when they have the numbers in their favor.
The moment you start blaming the coaching staff, something you are not even remotely qualified to do, instead of blaming the players for obvious errors (penalties, lazy routes, dropped passes, turnovers, missed tackles, missed blocks) then you are advocating the old way.
Lose field position, lose the turnover battle, and lose the penalty battle and you will never win more than you lose. Those are all player mistakes. Our list is so long of mistakes we make during a game, I can no longer sit back and ignore it. Winners make the plays. Losers find ways to run lazy routes, drop passes, turn the ball over, commit critical penalties, and miss tackles.
But keep ignoring it. Al did. So you will. It is what you are all conditioned to do so you will continue to do so. Boo our team and make the home field an away game and see just how fast Mark moves the Raiders to LA. Give him a “reason to commit the treason”, and he will do it.
Knuckleheads. All of you. But look at me, Im expecting a smarter player and a smarter fanbase. I must not have been paying attention the last 30 years.
September 18th, 2012 at 12:20 pm
I’m reading all these post saying fire Knapp fire DA fire RM they need to go lets get Hue back blah blah blah. The next guy it not the coaches it’s the OL fault it’s the DB fault its our LB’s fault blah blah blah. When you are at this high level of play it comes down to coaching your player and setting up a good game plan that’s what wins games. You look at New England when they have a player that gets to big for the team the cut him and plug in the next guy. It comes down to coaching and game planning at this level. You decide where the problem sits.

Riff,
McFadden targeted 25 times with only 15 receptions. These are not down field passes here either. I would say at least 6 drops for #20 thru 2 games.
Our 2 best receivers are catching the ball 50% of their targets as well. Palmer has been off at times so maybe half of those are drops. That’s alot!!

Your post did touch a nerve about the players not producing…
No one is going to argue with you that any 1 player on this team has played a great game yet. But, the coaches aren’t free of blame no matter how you spin it.
Special teams as been epic fail, fielding punts inside the 10′ twice, returning ko’s out of the end zone when we’re struggling mightily w/ field position, db’s lining up behind the sticks on 3rd down…bad gap control and Reggie cutting potential for cheap free agents who can’t produce….there is plenty of blame to go around, to defend this unproven staff so vigorously seems contrived.

He said today that if the team sticks with the system they might as well trade Darren McFadden.
I think I’ll take his opinion over the two magpies Heckyl and Jeckyl, aka Raider Riff and Sullivan44.

You’re full of schit. Last year was a hybrid of zone and power. The plays that Mcfadden ran effectively were as a result of the coaches actively involved him in the scheme selections and inserting plays that complimented his skill set.
The Head Coach and Al Davis both said the same thing. Get your fake, twisted, skewed commentary outta here.

So what now? If guys are getting blown off the line and consistantly “NOT” beating the man in front of them, dropping passes, missing tackles, bad angles….Etc.
It seems to be either “attitude” isn’t there, or the “talent” isn’t.
If it’s talent, that’s one thing…But how do you fix attitude? It’s gotta be about MORE than just winning doesn’t it to develop that attitude of PRIDE, playing for each other “Us against the world, Defend our House”
The Coleseum has been a Bed and Breakfast for the opposition who come, eat all our food, Wipe their A$$es on the bed sheets, and steal everything that ain’t nailed down.

Riff, I said the exact same thing a few years back. Basically other teams make plays, we don’t. Watch the Miami game: they make every play. Every play! We don’t. They win. We lose. The idiots here used to blame Davis. I said Davis and his little walker with the tennis balls on the legs, isn’t the one who missed the tackle at the 5 yard line with time running out. The “fans” here went nuts.
They want to go to the games and boo their heads off. I said when was the last time you saw fans booing their heads off and a team thriving? You see it, it is just the opposing team that is the one thriving. I really do believe we have some of the stupidest fans on earth following the Raiders. Unfortunately.

Losing is a cancer. Unfortunately, two 8-8 seasons didnt change the culture in the locker room.
Some of these guys either got to go, or they got to finally realize Al aint going to bail them out with another coaching change.
Its time for these guys to grow a pair.
Someone on this team needs to step up and do something about it. Romonowski knows what he would do, he said it the other day, he’d find a weak link and go kick the sh!t out of him in front of everyone. It’s not uncommon on a football team for their to be fights, we are in desperate need of a dust up.
September 18th, 2012 at 12:55 pm
I liked Romo’s analysis. it combined the players stepping up, DA finding a way to get his message across and getting back to power running. As he said the NFL stands for not for long .. Thought DA took a good first step in having them all watch film together, now we will see how the other pieces fall into place.

I don’t thinks there is any common football sense if one thinks Hue Jackson lost the team and he was a incompetent footall HC after one year. He was 8/8 his fisrt year at HC. He was 8/8 his first year his first year at OC. Yet, A minority of Raiders supporters would like to support a theory a first year HC coach must do much better to keep his job. where is the logic in that theory!!! Support that theory!!!!!
NFL HC coaches don’t live in a Harbaugh wonderland. He is a exception to the rule. Harbaugh also inherited a really good, hard nose players on DEFENSE, OFFENSE, and SPECIAL TEAMS.
I do not want the Raiders to fail because I wanted Hue Jackson to stay or to make a point about my view. I wanted the Raiders organization to make good choices for the best interest of the Raiders. My point is the choices they made at the time the Raiders had great chances of making the offense even more productive under the same scheme was junked. The time to reinforce a new defense under the same HC that produced one of the top offenses was junked for an unproven HC and scheme. Timing is as crucial as change!
Do I believe DA and Knapp are aweful coaches. No!!! Do I believe this was an aweful time to make a change from Hue Jackson to DA/Knapp. Yes, aweful, aweful aweful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…
I will Never support this decision but I will move on from here and support our new coaches. Oh, one last shout out on the same issue. Mark Davis your decision to make changes on you fathers first hand exchange to you SUCK BIG TIME!!!!

No holds barred. Start calling out the pu55ies that need to step up. Let them know we are sick of it.

Maybe they have another team they can turn to…like the niners for instance. I don’t have the niners love cuz i’m not anywhere near the Bay Area, I willingly chose the Raiders…almost better said; they chose me when I was a very young lad.
For those of us who are getting older and have waited a long time to be competititive…as they have been last 2 yrs. it’s hard to stomach being told we have to wait a few yrs. longer. It just is.
As far as our 8-8 being a “mirage” I say that’s b.s. The way the team choked away wins against Detroit and Buffalo and Denver?…We should have won even more games if we had but an average defense. The naysayers say we could’ve just as easily been 6-10 but that’s just a case of looking at the glass half full and ignoring what really went down.
That being said “you are what your record says u are” so let’s not diminish the 8-8 becuz it fits a certain agenda of trying to say we were crap anyways.

one of the glaring disappointments for me is the lack of turnovers caused by our defense. IMO, wheeler could have changed the game if he held onto the int from tannehill’s first pass. The thing is where are the hits that cause a fumble or the tips that lead to ints. Playmakers are playmakers regardless of defensive scheme. I feel our dbs blitz with a lack of passion, they just take up space . We’ve blitzed enough these 2 games and noone makes anything happen on D. God knows that our defense has been on the field enough. There have been many opportunities for that big hit to cause a fumble or a cb to jump a route they have seen 6-8 times already. We need playmakers on the defensive side of the ball..its been too long

That said, I know enough about football to know that with next to no draft picks, and have to bleed off an alarming amount of ‘talent’ due to cap issues, there is no way we were going to compete for playoffs this year. We weren’t a playoff team last year (despite what the delusional amongst us say) and even if we had beat SD and made it in, we would have been destroyed at NE just like Denver was.
Even IF Reggie had played the Al Davis Cap Roulette game and signed a high price FA or 2 and mortgaged the future even further, we still would have zero depth at almost every position, and even if we could sneak in to the playoffs we aren’t ready to compete with the top clubs in the NFL.
I would rather take my lumps why Reggie cleans house for the next year or 2, and build the team correctly than the alternative, which is Al Davis’ method, how easily 2 losses cloud your judgement of the last 20 years of mediocrity (at best). Reggie will have this team set as a perenial contender in 2-3 years. If you are worried about what other people think of your football team, then you have a lot bigger problems that you should seek help for.

Nobody has a better opinion on the Raiders zone blocking scheme than the Fullback voted to the NFL’s 2000 All Decade Team … Lorenzo Neal.
He said today that if the team sticks with the system they might as well trade Darren McFadden.
I think I’ll take his opinion over the two magpies Heckyl and Jeckyl, aka Raider Riff and Sullivan44.
***********************
Our very own OLine Coach from last year Bob Wylie disagrees with you and Lorenzo Neal. He says he ran the ZBS last year with great success for McFadden.
************************
It is true that Bob Wylie ran a combination of BOTH ZBS & Power Smash-mouth blocking. I can’t say under which scenario DMac was successful at running the ball. Taking that comment by Wylie at face value, how does one explain the utter failure we are now seeing from DMac & the O-line? Is Pollack a really bad O-line coach? Is Knapp just calling terrible unproductive plays? Have last year players been replaced by the pod-people? Just what? The one thing for sure is that this years O-line play is horrendous and without an effective O-line runners will not be successful & QB’s will get sacked & be very ineffective. So exactly how do we explain how everything offense has turned to crap? I’m open to considering plausible suggestions. So far, the popular vote seems to fall on the head of Greg Knapp & his vision of offensive football. Anyone?
September 18th, 2012 at 1:23 pm
Johnny, Im with you. We have the talent to win 12 games.
****************
I don’t believe that to be true. Palmer and McFadden could be considered “Elite” players (this is debatable), there are MAYBE 5-7 more players that could start on the majority of NFL teams, MAYBE. 40-45 players on the 53 man roster are mediocre at best.

********************
I’ll explain it again… This is almost a completely different OLine from last year… here is my earlier post
‘Actually it WAS the players. Veldheer is the only constant from last year. you are underestimating the challenge of switching positions on the oline.
First change, Coop to LG from RG (the left and right side of the oline has been described by NFL Olineman as being as different as writing with your right and left hands) Coop is getting older, and his ability is fading.
Second change, Wiz to Center, wiz injured most of the summer, Parsons to center, no continuity at the ANCHOR of the oline
3rd change Breisel – he has actually been an upgrade over coop at RG, but it is hard to see when the unit as a whole is struggling
4th change – Barnes injured (and not very good to begin with) replaced mid-game by Smith
As you see, there has been a great deal of change in our oline, even though its only “1 player”. Our oline will improve as the flux stops and they gel into 1 constant unit week in and week out.
They should slide Wiz back to his more natural guard position, start parsons at Center, and Cooper can be the swing guard. I think they will end up making this move very soon.”

I agree 100% 51. Where is that Raider smash mouth get the f*ck outta my way attitude? How can we continue to get violated in our own house? We must return to the old Raider rebel bad azz demeanor. The question is HOW?
********************
That mentality died in the 70’s. It’s the pussification of America, combined with the fact that these guys play ball for the money first, and even if they didn’t the OWNERS do. It’s the way the game is now, those ‘rebel’ teams are never coming back
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Good Point, it seems like the Ravens have stolen some the old school Raider mentality of physically abusing the other team until they wilt. I sure wish our Raiders could get that back again! Hoping for a miracle on Sunday against Pitts.

ROD WOODSON was with the team last year. HE said on Football hr.. that DMAC is not a ZBS runner. He is a north n south.. straight track speed. He is not a cut back .. shifty type runner.
and some of u fans got it twisted. Everyone here is big time Raider fan aside from a few trolls. y do u think there was over 2,000 post on that sun night blog? We want to see progression, not the opposite way on offense. Fans are just tired of the same crap. They even asked ICE CUBE on first take if he was gnna wait for the rebuilding. No, I really DO know. We have a brutal schedule which includes the most travel in the NFL, we have like 6 games on the eastern time zone (we have won 3 of the last 21 games in the east), we have very little depth, and even the starters (defense far worse than offense) aren’t great players. I expect this team to get better as the year goes on, as bad habits are broken and the players acclimate to the scheme (scheme does matter to a degree). I expect a pretty large improvement in penalties (as much as 50%!) I expect that we will stop seeing the same disturbing trends in games that we have watched for years, the defense quitting at halftime, stop stop stop HUGE gain. When you see these things, happen, and then you begin infusing talent in the offseason the team will grow into a REAL contender.

THere was a reason why Mr. Wiz Senior left the team as well.
DMAC is on record saying he was comfortable with the zbs. He said it wasnt till HUE came and asked him what he was comfortable with and it was power runs.. and runs to the outside where you didnt have to make a choice after the play was developed. You guys keep saying he does are just gonna keep seeing the same result. DMAC now is just towing the company line that the zbs doesnt bother him. ON sunday i saw DMAC come back to the sideline on the bench talking too REECE. REECE kept on agreeing with him then just did the SMH like they couldnt believe how bad it was the offense sucks. Probaly missed hue. FInally got away from knapp then stuck back with him
Week 1 last year DMAC rips off large run at broncos
week 2, he was all over the damn place
week 3. Rips off a 70 yarder against jets
Against the pats on the firs drive he had more then a 20 yard run
Two weeks into this season .. doesnt even have like 32 yards rushing in over 25 carries. HMMMMMMmm
September 18th, 2012 at 1:49 pm
Week 1 – Raiders playing OL out of position because of injuries, starting WR group was well, who?? SD tee’d off on McFadden and the oline. smart plan. ST’s hand SD the game.
Week 2 – Raiders play against one of the best Dlines in the NFL. ST’s again suck, defense gives up a ton of yards on the ground, McFadden drops several key passes and Palmer misses several key open WR’s.
HMMMMMmmmmm

That was all last year too. Nobody played in Posistion on the OL.. and that was with a Rookie OL and in 10 the OL was worse with no center.
last year was a patchwork OL with some of the same guys VELDEHRE, Wiz, Satele, Carlie, and Barnes. sorry hmmmmmm Fact is ZBS doesnt fit mcfadden and u will probaly continue to see it.. till they start dialing up his favorite run plays
September 18th, 2012 at 1:53 pm
Miami’s LB’s completely dominated our WR/TE blocking on Sunday. Schmitt got in one good block, Meyers is a pretty bad run blocker.
September 18th, 2012 at 1:54 pm
the proof is on film this year. You would have seen at least a 15 yard run from DMAC by now. NOPE nothin. There was some holes but as LO pointed out DMAC took the wrong hole then ran into traffic.
He needs to know where he is running before the play begins.
September 18th, 2012 at 1:55 pm

Hate to say it, but McFadden in just as much responsible for his decision making then the line was for their blocking. I’ve watched both games several times and McFadden was clearly hitting the wrong hole and putting himself right back into defenders.

Post 106 exactly.. thats why he is not comfortable with it.. then he ran as Lo pointed out 30 yards sidewise to get two yards up field lol SMH

To say that McFadden wasn’t cutting last year thru holes doesn’t sound right. He was switching direction and splitting defenders when it was there. Bouncing outside on inside running plays and making several cuts past the dline. It wasn’t just run straight at the A gap and blast thru for a huge gain.
An example on Sunday was in the first qtr at the 2:21 mark on 2nd and 1 Streeter and Hagan had sealed the entire left side of the field. If Darren had made one cut to the outside he was all by himself. He took it up inside and got the first down, which I’m cool with. I know it’s easy for me to see it in hindsight, but he was missing holes on a lot plays this week. Got nothing to do with the ’scheme’.
September 18th, 2012 at 2:06 pm
Some raider fans are just expecting change. Fact is its a 50/ 50 crap shoot. You guys wanted a GM.. well u got one in Mckenzie. in 3 yrs I hope its alot different. Only time will tell. Im not wishing change.. except the offense thats it.

I had the same feeling before the game I have now (blowout loss), but John Marshall put 8 on the line and stood up linemen and blitz McNabb all day…. the eagles said they were shocked and never seen that on film.
I really think thats the defenses best hope, some crazy blitz packages like falcons had last night.

Walter Football has us slated as the #3 pick…. This is what he has to say about why we will pick so low.
Oakland Raiders: Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
The Raiders are a mess right now, and part of the problem is Carson Palmer, who simply lacks the arm strength to be successful in this league. If Oakland continues to lose and ends up with a top-three pick, there is no doubt that it’ll take a quarterback. In fact, the Raiders may have to move up to No. 2 to ensure that they can obtain Tyler Wilson, much like the Redskins and Browns did last year with Robert Griffin and Trent Richardson, respectively.

This from the NFL stat guy. But we dont need that stat to know everything is working fine, right ?

More good news for the Raiders…
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer (toe) is dealing with turf toe and will be limited in practice early in the week.

That Walter Football guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Carson Palmer has his faults, but arm strength is not among them.
September 18th, 2012 at 2:46 pm
Purple,
Walterfootball has hated Palmer every since I’ve gone to that site. Be careful using them for fantasy projections, they are very biased towards specific players.
September 18th, 2012 at 2:46 pm
Raiders dont need anymore slow ..statuesque qb’s. we need guys who can roll out of the pocket. Athletic qb’s like Rodgers, Luck, Rg3, alex smith even.
any of those types in the draft next year? I also hear we have a guy named pryor
September 18th, 2012 at 2:47 pm
He did not get to my question, so let me make it clear where I stand. We have had 94 pass attempts and 30 rushing attempts in 2 games. How does the OC come up with this game plan when you have a top notch RUNNING BACK in Darren McFadden? How is DMC supposed to get in the flow of the game? This is outright stupidity that we are watching on offense. P.S. Richard Seymour is a CANCER!
September 18th, 2012 at 2:48 pm
I wouldnt say Arm Strength is his biggest weakness at all but there is a lack of velocity on some of his deep passes.
I do think that Reggie wants his own QB and Geno Smith would be nice.
“Smith is 66 of 75 passing for 734 yards and nine touchdowns through two games. He’s got as many passing TDs as incompletions and his 88 percent completion percentage leads the nation.”

The issue is, are his stats inflated due to garbage time receptions, or is he a true difference maker? will the system change to accommodate him or is he already out of here because he hasnt adjusted to this style of WCO?
Thats why the Wilson or Geno Smith mocks are going up

The local media cork & mcdonald are completely enamored with palmer. In fact they have made several bold predictions about him being an instant, just add water, microwavable super star.
When asked about palmer cork pointed to his yardage totals, and 1 int. He completely glossed over the wild inaccuracy to wide open targets, the questionable decisions (palmer could easily have 3 pick but has been fortunate), or his utter lack of leadership.
further when presented with the idea that the tribune tried to sell that macfadden and palmer together were a “super duo”, at this point has been far from the truth it was simply ignored.
The bottom line is that even though media members should be impartial, these two are clearly fans of palmers. this is why their take on palmer at this point is 180 degrees different from most of the national media in terms of palmer’s performance, and where he falls in current qb rankings.
Corky also still thinks pryor will / should be moved to tight end, yet says he expects pryor to be used in “wildcat packages”. this to me shows that he is either behind the times or doesn not want to acknowledge the changing tide in football.
Today there is no wild cat, in fact teams that are on the cutting edge teams are taking real option qbs and letting them play option football. they marry the option to another base so called pro offense.
In fcat bringing in pryor would not make it a “wild cat” because wild cat is a player that is not a qb taking direct snaps. If pryor is in the game he is a qb.
furthermore I have a problem with trying to label pryor a wild cat because it insinuates that he is not a qb, and if he has any success this label can be used in luie of giving him credit for good solid qb play.
cork does not believe pryor will get ny starts if the raider go 0-5, I have a very hard time seeing this being true.
Cork may not be a fan but im sure D.A and Big mck were very impressed with the way pryor handled himself and improved over the course of the pre season.
local media was wrong about palmer, and him being a savior or the best qb we have had since gannon, and they are wrong about pryor.
Now I know why davis didnt give a rip about them or what they think.

So pull the plug on T.Pryor already? And it appears that if they dont change the offense so is Carson Palmer

Walter Football is 1 of the many websites that has us drafting a QB. Im by far not a big fan of Walter Cherepinsky but he does offer some valid points about NFL Draft Prospects.

Why would somebody who HAS NEVER played in the NFL start getting respect to replace Palmer, though?
Its like people are enamored with Robert Wilson and he hasnt even completed the season yet.
I agree Palmer isnt what he used to be , and he’s missing receivers, but Geno Smith isnt even in the NFL yet.

I like Pryor and think he’s a good guy but were in the middle of a rebuild and Reggie is going to want his own QB.

Yes, remember it well.
I gave the Raids absolutely no chance to win that game.
Still remember LMurphy’s great effort throwing 2 blocks on Miller’s 80 yard TD run.
Still remember JaMoron calling signals and having the ball snapped with 10 seconds still on the play clock when the Raids were just trying to close it out.
Seems pretty obvious we’re going to have to throw the kitchen sink at BRoth Sunday.
Seems equally obvious that he’s going to wiggle out of some sacks, extend the play anyway and torch our secondary.
But, you never know.
Any given Sunday.

Too bad we didn’t suck for Luck or RGIII last season!
===================================================
We’ll wind up with the nbr1 pick again without a clear cut franchise QB available.
Unfortunate too, not only bcz if there’s no Luck or RGIII we don’t secure a franchise QB, and the trade down that Reggie will make will be less lucrative.
=================================
One we will need to find out if pryor can carry the mantle. second there is geno smith and ej manual both maybe on the board when we pick, as both have been erroneously ranked behind bray, wilson, and barkley…..yawn

Patriots just released WR Greg Salas (Hawaii). He was Rams 4th round pick last year, broke his leg, then Patriots traded a 5th for him. Now he was just released. Reggie should pour him a cup of coffee…the kid can play outside and some slot.

Manti Teo … I will take him a true 3-4 ILB, put him and McClain in natural positions. then Miles and Curry outide. Defense solved. NT – Bilukidi/bryant ends: crawford, houston shaugnessy. rotation: toffelson

SaintKaufman, The playcalling is indefensible! McFadden was so burned out from the Monday night game that he had nothing in the tank left in Miami. Knapp better realize he is blowing up our offense!

Quick question.
Game time.
Dropped ball.
Player gets flag for late hit.
WHO’S IN CHARGE RIGHT NOW??
see?
Not who’s supposed to be in charge, but in your mind, right then, who did you feel would step up and take charge?
Why do I not see DA in that position?
DA looks lost on the sideline. Shows little to no emotion. In the PC he comes across as meek, and quite honestly, weak.
Not the HC we needed at this stage.
