Raideraholic,

Yes, I’m watching the same games you are. And in game one I saw an injured long snapper with no backup on the roster, which would doom the ‘85 Bears, let alone us.

In game two I saw an offense where seemingly most of our star players were just off. Palmer was 50%, he’d missed guys who were wide open all day. McFadden took a pass right off the numbers on a play that would have been a touchdown, a pivotal touchdown in a game that was close and where momentum was everything. The play calling is not be blame in these instances.
———————–
Honestly, I hope the problems we had over the last couple games are correctable. Nothing I would love more than to see a great underdog story. I think are problems are unfortunetley pretty deep. Play calling is part of it but not all of it. As you said there has been poor execution as well.

I would like to just say the SD game would have been different with Condo and Maybe the Raiders were just gassed from the Humidity on sunday. I just get the impression if it’s not one thing it’s going to be another.

I have been a fan for a long time, and as you know this last decade can really suck the kool aid out of people if you know what I mean.

Appreciate your positivity, I just need to see it translate on Sundays.

-----------------------------------------------------

Very well said Raideraholic! Couldn't agree more.

We can talk about schemes and coaching forever but I think we have to deal with the reality that this isn’t a talented team. We got by last year because the AFC West was a very weak division, none of the teams were good. McKenzie had to get rid of Wimbley and Rout because they were way overpaid and didn’t have the draft picks or cap space to bring in better talent. We don’t want to hear it but this is a rebuid project. It’s going to awhile to bring in the right players to fit the new schemes and find difference makers. The lack of difference makers is the biggest issue with the Raiders. Name a difference maker on Defense? On offense who is there beyond McFadden behind a below average offensive line? When the only top players at their position are your punter, kicker and long snapper you are not going to be a good team no matter who is coaching.
---
Good post, but i contend that there is a case to still be made that we could be explosive on offense.

Palmer i believe is still more than capable of getting the job done at a high level and DMOORE has proved he is a stud at WR. Meyers looked good last Sunday-no drops and 6 cathces. Than u still have DMAC...who has the potential to be as explosive as anyone in the league...we're all waiting to see it actually happen.

Will they do it? That's the question.

It's already Wednesday and already we're starting to see a few guys make a case for how we're gonna win this Sunday.

By Saturday we'll see a huge % of guys predicting a victory.

It's kinda cool i guess but we always buld it up only to be dreadfully let down...

That's been the pattern and Reggie and DA have done nothing to change it thus far.

Such is the life.

Just traded Gronk for Big Ben and Dwyer in my fantasy league. Expecting huge numbers from them both. Big Ben big first half numbers, 250yds 3 TD's. Dwyer solid numbers in second half clock eating mode, 75 yds on 16 carries, 1 TD. That way when we lose, I'll have atleast won a meaningless Fantasy game. Of course I sure as hell hope I'm dead wrong!!

Knapp had a brilliant plan to have Palmer try throwing lefty this week to try something new. Mastermind.

Or the brilliant plan was start Leinart???

Seymour Bush Says:

The interior of the Raiders line is getting manhandled. It wasn’t nearly so bad in the lst game, and lets face it Solai is a load. But it might be becoming painfully obvious that Wisnieweski is not very good.
-----------------------------------------------------

To his credit it was his first game action. Briesel, and Cooper I do think are liabilites. I always thought Barnes was career backup. his replacement Young, who knows yet? LT is solid, and looks to be so for some time. Solai is a beast. But opponents D-line is getting to far into our backfield, no hats on linebackers. So no lanes to be had for a northbound runner like Dmac.
