Raiders sign So’oto, waive Ihenacho

The Raiders signed former Green Bay Packers linebacker Vic So’oto Tuesday and waived Carl Iheanacho, the club announced.

So’oto, 6-foot-2, 255 pounds, played in seven games with the Packers last season after being an undrafted free agent out of Brigham Young. He was placed on injured reserve Aug. 31 with an ankle injury and released Sept. 10 following an injury settlement.

A second cousin of Junior Seau, So’oto had seven tackles and one sack for Green Bay last season, playing on special teams and defense.

Ihenacho, out of San Jose State, a defensive end by trade, moved to linebacker this season and played sparingly through three games.

The Raiders also released defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga from their practice squad.

Wide receiver Tori Gurley sent out a Tweet saying that he signed with the Raiders. A team spokesperson said no announcement was forthcoming Tuesday.

    Seymour got the only sack, in the clutch, too.

    The thing I like most about the O was the fact we were running no huddle. No sure why we did not do that more last year. Hope it becomes a staple where we run it every game.
    ==========================================

    We did run it a bunch last year, the problem with it is it becomes predictable. You are only going to run so many no huddle plays, not your entire playbook so teams will eventually catch up to what you are most likely to run.

    And he was responsible to the 10 yard holding penalty.

    Didn’t Burris get his hands on Rapistberger on the Steelturds’ last drive?

  • Thec

    JFB, agreed…Would like to see some of those new 2 TE sets. Myers contrary to my comments is athletic enough. Want to see him, and Auz on the field at the same time.

    BTW CPIII is ballin…Audibles are fan fckintastic..

  • J Hill

    Criner might not ever see the field as well as Hagan is playing that role.

  • J Hill

    He even showed some yacability on a catch.

    How about that there?

    ++++++++=

    The last thing we need is anything close to predictabilty. A good mix to keep the opposing Dline tired, and off balance will be good enough imo however, CP looked awesome running it.

    “old up there. Slow your roll. Palmer had 2 good qtrs last game BUT:

    1. He is very familiar with the steeler D
    2. Troy Polamalu out
    3. James Harrison out.

    4.Before you go making other excuses the Steeler D without Polamalu and Harrsion is like the Ravens without Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. You think the Ravens would have beat the Pats without them? No!

    I hope Carson builds on this win but Mr INT is bound to show his face anytime now.”

    You are a complete dolt!

    We were missing our 2 starting corners, Jacoby Ford and couple of others. Stop it with the 13 year old girl whining about Palmer he is the QB.

    Look at how horrible Vick and Newton are playing they tare throwing 3 or 4 INT’s a game and n o one is calling for their heads.

    Shove it up your fat lazy ass with your anti Palmer rhetoric!

    LOL you must be one of those “in Reggie we trust” D-bags.
    The starting CB’s are not much better than the back ups so cut the nonsense. Palmer had a good half a game. Calling plays. Once again i hope he builds on that but the last few years he has been inconsistent.

    I’ve been thinking about our TE’s after reading the great comments above….

    Myers, Aus, Gordon.. all have proved threats early this season. What a problem this can pose to opposing DC’s.. You can’t ignore them no matter who lines up and especially with CP3 at the helm.

    3 and 2.. two tight end set w/ Myers and Gordon/Aus.. Reece and Dmac in the backfield… DWow wide..

    Yeah…

    Oh, and ESPN just went there. They say if owners don’t demand the regular refs, put an asterisk by this season. Here we go folks, hack media trying to discredit this season and throw their weight around to get what they want.
    ========================================

    yeah put an asterisk because their darlings

    Pittsburgh 1-2
    New Orleans 0-3
    New England 1-2
    Green Bay 1-2

    are on the slide, and they have no nuts to slobber on (Brees, Brady, Rodgers, etc)

    loving it!!! Even Deion was answering “who?” – when Marshall Faulk said The Raiders are a different team when Denarius Moore is on the field.

    If the Hawks, Vikes, Bills, and us end up making the playoffs, it’ll be “well, it was a replacement ref enhanced” season for them.

    I say its karma. Obviously, these refs arent calling a lot of ticky tack penalties, and you can obviously see from the records – how it is ultimately affecting the above teams who get the calls continuously and have for years (Pack in Lambeau, especially)
