DHB rejoins teammates

Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey is at practice today, though only as a spectator. He is wearing his No. 85 jersey and a baseball cap, while chatting with coaches and teammates.
Heyward-Bey, of course, suffered a concussion and neck strain against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday, when he at the receiving end of a helmet-to-helmet hit by Steelers safety Ryan Mundy early in the fourth quarter.
Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Heyward-Bey still hasn’t passed the concussion-related tests mandated by the league. Heyward-Bey can’t play in a game or take part in contact at practice until he passes all the tests.
Therefore, there’s no way that Heyward-Bey will play Sunday against the Denver Broncos. For now, it appears as if Derek Hagan is going to get the starting nod opposite Denarius Moore.
Rookies Juron Criner and Rod Streater figure to get plenty of playing time, with no other receivers on the roster. It’s conceivable that the Raiders will sign Travionte Session or Tori Gurley from the practice squad.
However, the Raiders have had only four healthy wide receivers for each of their first three games, so that seems to be a long-shot.

– Right offensive tackle Khalif Barnes (groin) and cornerback Shawntae Spencer (foot) are not practicing today. That makes three straight missed practices this week.
So, you can expect Willie Smith to make his second straight start at right tackle and Michael Huff at left cornerback on Sunday.

– Many people seem worried about running back Darren McFadden appearing on the injury report with a bruised shoulder.
Coach Allen and McFadden aren’t among those worried about McFadden’s status for Sunday’s game, even though McFadden is listed as questionable.
McFadden finished the game against the Steelers with the injury, and he figures to hold up just fine against the Broncos.

At 1-2 the raiders are treading water and fighting the current. Another victory after the shocking win vs pitt, and suddenly the team takes on a totally different look.

However a loss would take a lot of the luster off the early season after a very positive outing last weekend.

Today I woke up, and this is how I feel about this weeks game.
Pressure on Manning will be the key to victory this week! Already sacked 8 times, and on pace for a record 43. Must pressure him into tough throws, and hope like the Falcons & Texans we can build a good lead! Dungvers O line and running game must be owned by the Raiders front seven. I expect few blitzes, and a bend but don’t break performance. The last time when DA & Manning took the field together DA coached up them Saints Db’s for a SB winning performance.( Tracy Porter INT) Same thing happens here? Not likely, but I can hope!

I do like the Raiders offensive chances, Denver has been beat by the long ball, and I’ve started Dmoore over Jordy Nelson in the FF, I think CP3/Dmoore connect long, while DMAC churns up yardage on a depleted Donkey D and controls the clock, protects the D.

Janikowski finally surges ahead of all the other would be record holders and hits a record 65 yard field goal.

    RESURGENCE!

Ryan Williams was available in most leagues, well up until a few days ago when Wells was ruled out. I’m sure he’s been picked up mostly. If not, worth a shot as he may see plenty action. In my leagues there’s really nothing available worth points or potential players who’ll see enough action.

Yeah this has got to improve. Coming into the season I actually expected our D-line to be the best unit on the team. Hell that preseason game versus Romo even after against Kolb, those Qb’s were going down often and forced to move. I am really surprised it has not performed better, and put up better numbers!

Allen watched with admiration last season as the offensive staff changed the Broncos’ entire offensive approach on the fly to accommodate Tim Tebow, with the end result an AFC West title.

I’m not saying to change the zbs “Knapp Style” WCO NOW, but IF they wanted to it doesn’t seem like it should be the end of the world and mess everything up IF they did.

Denver (as noted above) changed “on the fly” and it resulted in an offensive resurgence that got em a division title and a first round playoff win.
