DHB on the field, catching passes

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012 at 12:00 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The most notable sight at Raiders practice Tuesday was the sight of Darrius Heyward-Bey on the field, catching passes and looking very much like a receiver who will be cleared by the time play resumes following the bye week.

Heyward-Bey, knocked unconscious Sept. 23 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, was running and catching through warmups and drills. It is not known if Heyward-Bey has been cleared for contact and coach Dennis Allen is unavailable to the media Tuesday.

The Raiders practice Tuesday and Wednesday, then are off through Sunday.

Players who were not at practice Tuesday included tackle Khalif Barnes (groin) and corneback Shawntae Spencer (knee), both of whom are out indefinitely.

    _______________________
once again a statement of yours that is 100% false! I liked what I saw of JC at Wash thought he was a steal for us to trade a pic for him (was it a 4th or a 7th?) but he sucked at first and there’s no denying that fact. Not until year two did he start to come around when he finally learned to take more calculated risks throwing the ball and our team was playoff bound and most were singing his praises. He got injured for the year and we got a glimpse of what Boller can do so many of us including myself were happy that we got a replacement to hopefully salvage our season. Who would have known DMAC would go down and Bush would wear down? Who would have known that our D would let Detroit and SD in the final games score at will on us? I think you want to believe that everyone in here hated JC and loves CP which is not the case. The truth is JC sucked, we saw it, he came around we were happy, he went down and a lot of us were happy we didn’t have to wait around a year for a competent qb. don’t know why you want to convince yourself that we hated jc or want to give yourself credit as the only raider fan that liked jc but it’s not the case, hate to break it to you

Jason Campbell is so good that he grabbed the first offer he got to go sit on the bench in Chi-town.

Jason is a good teammate. Jason has my eternal gratitude for being a professional during the lock-out and enabling the RAIDS to finally kick JaMoron to the curb and out of the NFL.

    Thank you, Mr Campbell.

Jason however is not a very good QB. I give him credit for knowing his limitations. I do not begrudge him being Captain Checkdown. It’s allowed him to stay in the NFL as a backup. I do not begrudge him for taking the money to hold a clipboard in Chicago.

I wish JC the best but don’t miss him as the RAID QB.

Kinda depends on…Would JC have resigned for $4-5M a year opposed to Palmer’s $12M?

The extra $8M+/- could have gotten us a TE and CB or other positions of need.

A first round draft pick talent would have been nice this year (with Reggie drafting)
