    Just Win….. Go Raiders…. Beat the Birds…

  2. RaiderRockstar Says:

    thanks Becker!!

  3. KoolKell Says:

Atalanta has proven it can be run on. Now is the time to justify the ZBS.

  4. RaiderRockstar Says:

I feel 10 times more confident we’ll win today against ATL than next week against JAX

thats been our issue for the past 10 years. We compete or find a way to beat the good teams … then get blown out by equal or lesser teams

the team is only hungry, motivated & prepared when they think we’re playing a team we have no chance at defeating

  5. RaiderRockstar Says:

The Raiders will look across the field Sunday at the team they aspire to be.
“They’ve got the right formula for winning football games,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen said of the Atlanta Falcons. “They understand their personnel, they understand what they’re looking for and what it takes to win. In some respects, that’s a team we try to emulate.”

    ***

    in other words,

the Raiders don’t have the right formula for winning football games. We don’t understand our personnel, we don’t understand what we’re looking for or know what it takes to win.

  6. RaiderRockstar Says:

whats up Kell? you’re awake early. hope you’re enjoying that much deserved vacation. nice to see a positive comment from you regarding the Raiders!!

  7. KoolKell Says:

Yep DA is saying we’re not there yet.

It’s 2:30pm here. No, I’m never up at 5:30 in the morning. Lol.

  9. Plunketthead Says:

Gotta hope the Raiders play their superbowl today.

Stop the run, pressure stringbean out of the pocket, Punch the rookie Juliet in the mouth at the line of scrimmage and double team Romeo on the other side.
Put Tyvon on the old man and hope it works

O is simple, if Raiders can run the ball things will go great, if they cant run the ball it will be much tougher.

Thats about all I have. Raiders 37 – 35 because the stuff about the defense is not likely to happen.
    But you never know.

  10. RaiderRockstar Says:

The Falcons have transitioned from a run-first team featuring running back Michael Turner into a team that primarily moves through the air with Ryan throwing to White, Gonzalez and Jones.
It is a style that plays directly into Oakland’s inability to defend the pass, particularly on third down. Ryan is completing 68.3 percent of his passes, and his passer rating of 106.1 is second in the NFL.
“They’re a passing team now,” Raiders cornerback Joselio Hanson said. “They run those three wides and throw it all around the place. Turner is like the cherry on top. I feel like they’re going to pass the ball and it’s up to us in the secondary to stop them, the whole team.”

HOTlanta may try the unconventional approach this afternoon and pound the ball/control the clock

the Raiders can’t line up in a dime package all day and think Ryan & crew wont notice. Tarver better bring his A game

  11. DIRT-LOT FOOTBALL Says:

GOOD MORNING SPORT’S FAN’S.ROCKSTAR,KELL.I AGREE PLUNKETTHEAD,A WIN TODAY COULD,I SAY COULD TURN A SEASON AROUND..

  12. RaiderRockstar Says:

Put Tyvon on the old man and hope it works

    ***

    recipe for disaster, Plunk

I don’t know what the solution is – maybe double with Wheeler or go with Mike Mitchell in single coverage?

  13. RaiderRockstar Says:

    good morning Dirt Lot!

I think Plunk is right in that we may have to just outscore ATL. their offense against this defense is enough to keep Raider fans up at night

perhaps we can win the turnover game and control the clock, keeping that offense on the sidelines??

whats for certain? our ST unit can’t afford any mishaps

no missed FG’s , blocked punts, fumbles, huge returns allowed, etc

  14. Plunketthead Says:

But in all seriousness, whats a dime package?
I bet DA plays a soft zone. Keep things in front of you and try to takeaway the ball.

Maybe Rodyy and Juliet got drunk last night and stayed up all night listening to the beech band and knocking down wasted strippers.

Bottom line is the greasybirds have always been losers who cant get over the hump. This may be the day they live up to their rank

  15. KoolKell Says:

Matt Ryan vs weak secondary and weak pass rush, or
DMAC vs 27th ranked Run Defense

  16. RaiderRockstar Says:

But in all seriousness, whats a dime package?

    ***

    @Plunk

    nickel = 5 DB’s
    dime = 6 DB’s

  17. Plunketthead Says:

Funny thing is last season everyone was saying Tyvon was the only one able to cover TE because he did it once or twice so who knows?

Heck I dont think we have anyone that can punch julio anyway.

The good news is we are not playing the pats. We are playing perinnal losers who are off to a hot start.

Almost all hot starts are brought down to earth quickly.

    Step up Raiders

  18. Plunketthead Says:

    10-4 on the dime

I take back what I said. Gio will punch juliet all day long. Too bad he is not a little bit faster, and taller and a CB

  19. RaiderRockstar Says:

Funny thing is last season everyone was saying Tyvon was the only one able to cover TE because he did it once or twice so who knows?

    ***

    Plunk,

I just finished a 3 paragraph rant about Tyvon Branch and for some reason it didn’t post

lets just say I don’t agree with you that Branch was ever worth a darn in coverage

  20. Plunketthead Says:

lol RR I have read your stuff on Tyvon and I dont doubt it.

We are back down to hoping the Raiders play their SB today and the greasy birds do what they always do which is fail.

I believe the Raiders will win and it will be because the running game will keep Matty off the field and we get some turnovers.

We also have quite the passing game as well. It just needs that RG to pull defenders in a little

  21. RaiderRockstar Says:

DMAC vs 27th ranked Run Defense

    ***

    Kell,

I like it. I think the dirtybirds will be geared up to stuff McFadden and give us some opportunities in the passing game

Guys like Heyward-Bey, Moore & Myers get no respect around the league. I think we’ve got something with this unit and Palmer at QB

I also like the potential of Streater, Criner & Ausberry

Heck – Goodson & Hagan might even give us something

Hate to say it, but Hue Jackson was a dynamic playcaller compared to Greg Knapp. I don’t miss him as a HC, but I miss him calling plays on offense for sure

  22. J Hill Says:

Put Tyvon on the old man and hope it works

    ***

    recipe for disaster, Plunk

    ————————————————————-

It’s time for Branch to make a play. We have to start defending the TE and the middle of the field.

I’ve been screaming 3rd down defense for years. Glad they finally focused on it the past 2 weeks!

  23. J Hill Says:

I bet DA plays a soft zone.

    ————————————————————–

Yeah, that seems to be what we run more often than not.
I think it’s the players being tentative.

  24. irjonny Says:

This is a perfect matchup for the type of offense knapp wants to run. i am NOT a knapp fan, however if the raiders can execute the game plan we win this game. short throws, threat with the run and we keep the ryan on the bench for the majority of the game. that’s the only way we win imo.

  25. J Hill Says:

Guys like Heyward-Bey, Moore & Myers get no respect around the league.

    ————————————————————

    Yes they do.

Just not on this blog, lol. Of course with 17 being the exception.

We need these guys on the field TOGETHER. You will see a big difference today, like the Pitts game when everyone was healthy.

  26. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

The good news is we are not playing the pats. We are playing perinnal losers who are off to a hot start.

So, perennial losers are supposed to beat superior perennial losers?

  27. Raiderbuck Says:

No chance, no way,… I’ll eat my words if I’m wrong and I’ll do so happily. But this isn’t going to happen.

  28. Thec Says:

This game is not going to go they way most expect.

In spite of knapp, the RAIDERS will win today.

  29. RaiderRockstar Says:

It’s time for Branch to make a play. We have to start defending the TE and the middle of the field.

    ***

yeah, Jhill. something was broke and hopefully we fixed it during the bye week

  30. irjonny Says:

I will say this: I think everyone can agree that this is a weird year. Expectations for almost every team in the nfl pre-week 4 have been wrong. saints, packers, vikings etc. The raiders were expected to have a good year and be competative. If these other teams become what we thought they would be as the season goes on, maybe the raiders will hit their stride and fulfill expectations as well. this is different from other raider seasons where it looked good on paper. last year provided a pretty good blueprint so i’m in a wait and hope mode. let’s not give up week 6

  31. J Hill Says:

So how does Carter at RE impact the rest of the Dline?

    Where does 77 go?

  32. Thec Says:

    1. We do not play well going back east.

    2. greg knapp

    3. atlanta is a new undefeated Super Power

    4. matt ryan

    5. roddy white, tony gonsalez, mike turner, and julio jones.

I could go on and on….

Epxpecting a blowout by atlanta,is not going to happen today.

Raider are going to win the game against the atlanta falcons today.

  34. RaiderRockstar Says:

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Losers do not have three VL in the trophy case

  36. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

The only way Raiders will win today is if the offense starts clicking and scores over 35 points. They will also need some Atlanta turnovers. Given the fact that the Knapp offense has struggled mightily and the defense has created no INTs. This scenario seems unlikely. You never know, though.

  37. RaiderRockstar Says:

Raiders have been “losers” since the Super Bowl loss to Tampa Bay (10 years ago) … that’s just the cold hard truth

but that doesn’t mean we can’t turn things around, starting today

  38. AmysInCharge Says:

The C,..dude I dig your optimism, it never escapes you bro,..and you did call the Steeler win,…see you in a week dude!

  39. RaiderRockstar Says:

Wouldn’t it be crazy if the final score to this game was 9-6 and both defenses showed up in a major way??

I mean everybody is expecting the final score to be above 60 points today

Over the past 20 years, the Falcons have 170 wins and the Raiders have 139. Those Super Bowl years are ancient history.

  41. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

I mean everybody is expecting the final score to be above 60 points today
    ——
It might be. The Falcons would probably have 50 of those points.

  42. J Hill Says:

I hope Houston moves inside and 77 goes back to LDE.

  43. AmysInCharge Says:

Albert,..when a person has the outlook of a loser, like you do, what you call ancient history, others call Raider history,..you are like alot in here, go through life as a loser, loser mentality,..you have no choice but to look at things the way you do,..then theres fans like Wannaberocker and TheC,…the opposite of you. We do enjoy seeing you drown in your misery though so please dont stop. (as if you could)

  44. RNOraiderFan Says:

D-Mac, Rolo, J-Russ , Huff, Gallery, 2 traded picks for scraps. Before that Harris, Washington, Buchanan, Aso, Brayton. Show me one first rounder still with the team, One! What about 2nd rounders? If we had a Draft today with all those above ass clowns, what round would they be picked? I loved Al like a F’in Grandpa. At some point you take your G-pa’s keys and take over his bank account for him etc. Sac less Mark did nothing! You all complained about Al, now you miss him. You all complain about the current staff when they haven’t had 3 drafts yet? Hell, one of the best players we got is Burris and Big Berg. STFU you ignorant Monday am GM’s

  45. RNOraiderFan Says:

Before someone throws Hey Bey out. He hasn’t done crap. D-Mac is weak and can only run a straight line.

The Raiders are losers. They have been losers for the past ten years. Their past Super Bowl victories are irrelevant now. I want to see them win just as much as anyone else. I’m just not delusional like Thec.

  48. RNOraiderFan Says:

Sorry my comment was directed at all those bashing Reggie and Claiming Al is God.

  49. RNOraiderFan Says:

Reggie is respected by all that know the difference between a Football and a soccer ball.

  50. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

The Browns won titles back in the 50s. Does that make them a winning organization?

  51. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

I was 10 years old the last time the Raiders won a Super Bowl. I barely remember the game.

  52. RaiderRockstar Says:

one of the best players we got is Burris and Big Berg.

    ***

    RNO,

they both have potential – but I wouldn’t say they are our “best players”

Aaron Curry is injured and Joe Barksdale was a freaking slug (like Bruce Campbell). Doesn’t mean automatically their replacements are studs or even upgrades at this point. time will tell

  53. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

Al Davis was like the George Lucas of NFL owners. Had great success in the 70s and early 80s then became a crazy ego maniac. The 2002 Super Bowl team was like our Phantom Menace.

  54. RaiderRockstar Says:

Reggie is respected by all that know the difference between a Football and a soccer ball.

    ***

I agree with this, but he’s still a rookie GM that is only human and will make mistakes (especially early on)

In 3-5 years we all might think he’s the best thing that ever happened to us and Mark Davis will be a genius for hiring him – or the opposite

  55. AmysInCharge Says:

Poor Albert,..drwoning in his own personal misery,..now having Star Wars flashbacks. Today just keeps getting better.

  56. RNOraiderFan Says:

Curry has no knees. Why would Seattle get rid of it’s top ten 1st rounder for a 7th? RR you missed the point I was making. The past 12 years Al’s mind was not sharp enough to be Reggie’s secretary.

  57. RNOraiderFan Says:

Burris will be better then any 1rst rounder over the past 12 years. I might concede that to Hey-Bey, but right now you can book it!

  58. RaiderRockstar Says:

The past 12 years Al’s mind was not sharp

    ***

    RNO,

Grandpa Davis was a gamblin’ man. Unfortunately, most people who gamble lose their shirt

Al hit on a few and missed on a whole bunch. He’s not the only one. His issue wasn’t that his brain was out of sorts. It was that the game had changed and passed him by. He chose to do things himself rather than rely on the people he hired. He didn’t trust anybody and he was very stubborn. I agree with you that he should have taken a backseat a long time ago, but not because he wasn’t sharp. Because 1 man can’t do everything

  59. RNOraiderFan Says:

On another topic. I’m going nuts up here in Reno, Nv. Everyone is a fair weather fan and this season its everyone sporting 9ers gear, FAGS! I’m. Willing to start making the 3 1/2 hour drive to the East Bay to watch the game around the die hard real fans. Anyone wanna tell me the closest place to Reno to do this. I’m now officially kicked outta every sports bar here cuz I kick fair weather weenie suxers out the door. I do follow just not quietly like those 9er fans, Fags!

  60. Plunketthead Says:

Just looking back on the history of the Raiders makes one proud. Today success in the NFL = VL trophies and the Raiders have three of them.

That means a lot when free agents come to visit. Yes we have been down but we have been to the SB in almost every decade. No other team can say that.

So when Reggie turns things around and we start winning again you can bet those VL make a big difference

  61. RaiderReggie Says:

Darren McFadden must get 25 carries and 5 passes thrown to him. Pound the rock to keep Matt Ryan off the field. The Raiders can’t get in a shoot-out with Atlanta. PERIOD!

  62. RaiderRockstar Says:

    Reg, I agree

think Goodson or Jones will get any touches??

  63. MaddenRaiderisadouchebag Says:

    Atlanta 45
    Oakland 13

Allen smiles with Mike Smith after the game & says glowing things about what a great organization they have. He also defends Knapp’s play-calling.

Then the Knapp apologists compare his first 5 games as a 2012 OC to Hue’s first 5 games as OC in 2010. This comparison lasts 1 more week as we they won’t want to compare the first 7 games…or maybe they just say Hue’s 7th game was a “fluke”.

  64. MistaBrown Says:

I think Goodson will get a few touches. Jones will probably be a special teamer only.

  67. RNOraiderFan Says:

Anyone every really watch D-Mac run the ball? Not when he’s down the field going for it, but at the hand off? He looks straight at the line while getting the ball. Sees the hole. Then puts his head down and looks at the ground and hits that spot HARD! Harded then any other RB in the game today. Problem is that is great for power blocking. News Flash D-Mac, we runnin a zone now. Head up patience running, follow the flow of the line. I have no faith in D-Mac in this O. I have no faith in Knapp for taking our best RB outta the game.

  68. RaiderRockstar Says:

    @ RNO

    McFadden has power & speed

he’s not real shifty or elusive. doesn’t have fluid hips

I agree with you that he’s a better fit for power blocking

  69. RNOraiderFan Says:

RR, I think over the past year or two since I signed up here we have agreed on much.

  70. RaiderRockstar Says:

    RNO,

I tend to drink the Kool-Aid until I find out somebody pissed in it. I’m a pretty positive guy, but my eyes don’t deceive me. I’m not afraid to call somebody out when the need arises

Steelers rookie NT Alameda Ta’amu was arrested early Sunday morning for drunken driving, among other various charges.
Ta’amu reportedly crashed into several vehicles and then attempted to flee the scene. The fourth-rounder out of Washington is facing felony counts of fleeing police, aggravated assault while driving drunk and three counts of aggravated assault, plus 10 misdemeanors, including resisting arrest, attempting escape, drunken driving and failure to obey traffic laws. Ta’amu has yet to appear in a game this season.

I’m sure glad we didn’t draft him!!

    :)

  74. Mistic1 Tha Supavillain Says:

I don’t have to tell you we are really up against it this week. Unless atlanta hits the field hungover & drunk this may be a blow out.

Our defense is vulnerable at every level, carter will not help this. Ryan white jones & gonzo will carve up our retread rejects on the d line & secondary.

If this was last years offense with jc leading hu jacks juggernaut powerhouse offense I would say we could compete in a shoot out. This year …. Not so much.

Dmac running for 150 in between the 20’s won’t win this game. Not only must he run for over 120, but they must score td’s. Kicking field goals means dmac will not be a factor in the second half.

This could get ugly with Palmer forced to pass to keep up, & that will lead to some disaterous picks. Palmer must not throw more than 25-30 times or it means we are really in trouble.

We just don’t have the minerals to keep up in a high scoring game the way we did last year.

Don’t believe it? Just look at the difference between our offensive numbers last year at this time vs. now. This is not opinion ur documented fact.

    Go team

  75. Raiderbuck Says:

No way our secondary keeps up, 9 years of losing after a bye, East Coast game. Lose lose lose, I just want to see a good game. Don’t roll over, adjustments at the half. Show some freakin’ progress!

    Knapp sucks

  76. 303Raider Says:

The glass is real half full this morning!!

Just can’t see us winning as how the hell do we cover White, Gonzales, and Jones?

We would have to have everything fall in place:

    1) ST score
    2) huge game by Dmac
    3) turnovers

I guess we would need to see the team we haven’t seen yet…….

  77. MaddenRaiderisadouchebag Says:

By the way for the Mike Smith/Dennis Allen Comparison. Smith had a top 10 defense from 04-07 as DC in Jax. Then they fell into the 20’s the next 3 years….And yet Reggie’s “guy” was 24th.

LOL! Great comparison of Atlanta’s GM/HC combo to Oakland McDonald!

We would lose this games is Jamarcus was the Falcons QB. They have too many weapons.

    We are one step away!

    We are almost there!

What…from the 1st pick in the 2013 Draft?

it’ll be interesting to see the posts after we get blown out today. i just hope it isn’t some record setting…worst loss in Raider history type of game.

not that DA would care if it was.

Anyone have any predictions on who Vick will play for next year? I say the Chiefs.

  94. Raider8 Says:

…another sunday…another miserable drubbing. DA siad it best “well go, we’ll play the game, and we’ll move forward”.

translation: “i am not even confident in my, or my teams ability to even entertain the possibility that we’ll win”.

    The way I see it…

    Slo stinks.
    Krapp stinks.
Tits in way over his head.

    Atlanta is good, but overrated.

It’s the NFL, and any given Sunday anything can happen.

But I don’t believe in the 2012 Raids.

I try to talk myself into believing there’s a reasonable chance of winning today and/or turning this season around.

Then I think of Krapp and Slo.

I refuse to underestimate how bad this team might be.

Raids strong contenders to be first on the clock come draft day.

    ATL 31
    OAK 13
