hmmm so as i predicted the raiders losing this year with palmer and dmac being touted as the dynamic duo is not enough to sell tickets.
This is troubling in only game 6 of the season no less.
=========================================
One of the two players you mentioned is having a Pro Bowl caliber season. The other one would have been benched 2 weeks ago if he were not a top 5 pick. Unless your boy Pryor can come in and be a top 10 RB, there is no logical reason to have him out there other than for “oddity tent” factor of the local carnival.
It’s not that the Raiders are having trouble selling out games after only 6 weeks.
===============
what ever the reason they are not delivering the touchdowns and wins they were touted and hyped for. it has been a miserable failur so far as evedinced by our 1-4 record.
they are now haing diffculty selling this product as is and will need to overhaul soon.
Once the playoff race is officially closed for this team they will be searching for ways to bring people to the gate, TP6 is the man that can do that.
There was a major buzz leading into Detroit, because every one wanted to see what tp could do.
That will be the trump card at the end of the season to sell tix
No one will pay to watch this dynamic duo dredge through the end of a 4 win season

Oakland Stadium proposals: Rick Tripp Development has a proposal on the table for a new Raiders stadium in Oakland, that is 100% privately financed (through a Saudi-owned investment bank, three private equity funds, a pension fund, in-stadium taxation, etc.)
+++++++++++++
Will they be called the Saudi Arabia Raiders of Oakland?

LMAO if you and others in Oakland think that is how the world works with new stadiums, then you might as well kiss the Raiders goodbye once again. The Viqueens are only paying just under 50% of the cost of their new $975 million dollar stadium. Broncos only paid about 32% of their stadium costs. Colts only about 14% of their stadium costs. Cards only about 33%.
So look for Oakland to have to pony up about 50-70% of the stadium costs….or the Raiders will be on the move.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Sorry, but those sort of sweetheart deals where the municipality finances a stadium while the teams finances a fraction of the cost are long gone, especially in this economic climate.
Just to get to ground breaking, costs millions and takes years to accomplish, it ever.
The 49′ers will finance almost the whole cost of the Santa Clara facility.
If you think that Mark, with the Raiders in disarray and unable to sell out games, can just whip out of Oakland and into a new stadium as if he had tons of economic leverage, you are wrong.
If stadiums are so easily built then why the years long hold up ?
Raiders are going nowhere.

Certainly, going into the next season you want to see if the guy can even hold a spot on the roster. That is going to worth more than a couple of thousand extra tickets late in a dismal season. But remember there are long time paid professionals that have scouted that players since he was in single digits. And 31 of those orgs passed on him. Twice.

That horrible Carson palmer trade is still gonna screw the Raiders this year with the 2nd round pick. That could have been huge for this team.
So if the Raiders pick in the top 7 i See Reggie getting more picks.
Raiders need MLB Manti Teo’ or stay with the 7th pick and draft an ELITE PASS RUSHER.. or PREMIRE DT halio Ngata type . That NT/ DT from UTAH Star leoutiu
Or trade down and draft TEo’ and a CORNBERBACK like Rhodes from Florida state.

===========================================
It is not like the City of Minneapolis paid for the other $600mm. That was paid for by a sales tax raise for the entire citizens of the State of Minnesota amongst other things. If you think that is going to happen in California, you are high. And I mean Rick James high. So, therefor the Raiders only chance of moving would be to Minnesota. Then we could have the Minneapolis Vikings and the St. Paul Raiders.
++++++++++++++++++++++
Well, since no billionaires are going to build an LA-type stadium in Oakland, and the Cali taxpayers are not going to help Oakland pay for a stadium, then you are conceding that the Raiders are as good as gone?
—————-
Possibly they could be gone. I dunno. I just think its a ludicrous system to ask for the tax payer to pay for a stadium that isnt really necessary.
If the Raiders want sell outs, just win baby.
If the Raiders want to profit from a new stadium, build it themselves.
It’s a principle thing. Nothing more.
If the Davis family wants us to share the burden for their stadium, they should share their profits. Which we know will never happen.
The fact is, a new stadium would be nice, but it is far from necessary. A $70 seat is a $70 seat whether a new or old stadium. And just because the stadium is new doesnt guarantee more sell outs/profits in the long run. Winning and stability = sellouts = profits. It’s quite simple.
They need to show some commitment to us. We’ve been more than gracious to them. I’ve bought more than my fair share of tickets to games where our team didnt show up.
If LA has a billionaire group that will privately fund a stadium build, that will be hard to compete with. If Oakland goes and co–finances a stadium to keep the Raiders in town, that is bad business if you ask me. Take that money and go rebuild some local businesses and schools. The Raiders are a private business within the NFL. The NFL should be footing the bill.
If the NFL and the Raiders think it will be wise to jump ship to a already proven poor fan base in LA, they got a rude awakening coming. If the same crap product is on the field in LA, then you will see even less fans in the stands. And its not like the Raiders will be more profitable. Revenue sharing prevents the Raiders from truly capitalizing on any media contract with the LA market.
So what is there to gain? A half empty but new stadium that Mark Davis doesnt have to pay for? A twice torn up fan base?
Why not commit to Oakland for a change Mark. Sign a long term deal. Put a winner on the field. And get the financing yourself (use the Raiders and Al’s vast property holdings as leverage) and build your own damn stadium if you think it is so economically viable.
If its not viable, then stick with what you got. A 65k seat stadium that will sell out plenty and make Mark money if he puts a winner on the field.
If its not viable for Mark to build himself, then why should Oakland be suckered into thinking its viable for them! Nobody has more to gain than the Raiders, nobody has less to lose by sticking with the Coliseum than the Raiders. If Mark wont do it, Oakland definitely shouldnt.

Raider Riff,
Unless AD or Mark were stacking lots and lots of paper, I doubt the Raiders have a billion dollars just hanging around to finance a stadium.
You have the concept Riff: unless the Raiders are a highly profitable enterprise (which they are not) no stadium will be built.
If a stadium is built by billionaire developers, the Raiders will simply be tenants. Of course they still have to qualify financially and that will be difficult for them to do.

tony romo, , and carson palmer.
All have posted explosive stats at various points i thier careers, all have struggled with turnovers at others points.
neither has shown they can carry a team to wins consistently.
romo and palmer have struggled to even get into the playoff most of thier careers.
The bungles under achieved for several seasons before telling palmer “go ahead and quit, we dont need want or even like you that much”. romo and the cow pies are yearly disappointments, and romo has been a major goat with post season gaffs, and wild fluctuations in production in the regular season.
These are classic cases of qbs that may produce stats but dont lead wins and cant be called great. i have a hard time beleiving that any one of these two will ever become the “elite qb” they have been billed to be so late in thier careers.
they are like neil lomax, stan humphries, kerry collins, jeff george, danny white and so on.
These qb didnt win and eventually were let go even in the midst of posting solid individual stats.
When the team loses qb is always at risk of losing his starting gig, especially if it is an aging vet.

I dont think Al was stacking lost of cash on the side. I do know he has a lot of leverageable assets.
The simple fact is this, if it dont make sense to Mark to finance himself, then why should it make sense to Oakland? I understand it will hurt Oaklands economy if the Raiders leave, but it only gets worse if they finance the stadium.
Like you said, the Raiders need to be “highly profitable” to warrant the stadium build. Well, I say, if the Raiders are highly profitable, then why waste the billion on a new stadium? It just doesnt make sense.
Raiders just need to win games and the rest will take care of itself.
Moving to LA wont make them any more profitable. Nor will a new stadium if they are still a 1-4 type football team.
Apparently there are Saudi investors willing to finance a Oakland stadium? That is Mark’s best option. Leaving Oakland would be a huge mistake.

A new stadium doesnt prevent the Raiders from leaving down the road when they realize a losing product is just as un-profitable in a new stadium as in a old stadium.
If the Raiders have to pay for the stadium, it prevents them from EVER threatening to leave.

Again, that is one of the advantages of the zone scheme. Running lanes, not crashing into defenders at the POA. And in one of his runs in the lst quarter last game, the Raiders called a very simple guard trap play. 66 pulled was running down field, and McFadden cut right into the DT standing there. Why he didn’t follow the guard which EVERY back is taught starting in Pop Warner is beyond me.

Agreed. I dont see a problem with the scheme.
If it isnt DMC running into the wrong lane, its a blocker getting blown up, or a ref throwing a flag on the plays that do work.
DMC needs to buy in. If a player never buys in, then they will NEVER succeed. No matter what. Maybe he has bought in and he’s legitimately struggling despite having faith in the system. Fine, I can live with that. But he needs to step up and get with it, as do his blockers.
Ive said it before and I’ll say it again, RB’s need to get in a rythmn just like any other skill position player. DMC just hasnt found his rhythmn yet.

tony romo, , and carson palmer.
****************************
hahahahhahaaha!!!!!!!!

=========================================
I can tell you exactly what it is. lst off, Wisniewski is not playing very well at center. Neither are the two guards. That triangle has not been very effective. Now again, you are putting in a completely new scheme with completely new players, and the Oline is the ONE UNIT that needs the most reps to get it down regardless of what system you are running. But they have been disapppointing.
Couple that with the fact that our starting WR’s in game one were DHB and a guys named Streator who had never played an NFL game, along with a unhearalded Brandon Myers and you had defenses keying on McFadden. And rightfully so. Which brings us to Knapp. Knapp force fed the ball to McFadden which did not work well at all.
So, whaa happens now? Well, with Moore now in there, and DHB healthy and the return signing of Hagan, the WR corp is no longer something other teams can take for granted. Especially with the emergence of Myers and now Ausberry is beginning to look good. The team has to get out of its “run first” kind of mode, into using the pass to set up the running game.
But I know what you are thinking. So, what’s with the criticism of McFadden then? Watch his runs. He takes a two yard dive like 80% of the time. He is NOT running hard. When he does run hard, he is VERY effective. And you can blame it any way you want but that is fact. The tape clearly shows it. And if that is not enough, the last four games McFadden has had more drops than receptions in the passing game. That’s HARD TO DO. And Goodson has played well. Very well.

From what Ive seen…
Our O-Line play is worse. It’s been reshuffled and not identical to the past. But regardless, some of the players just arent playing as good.
Play calling is different. Im not talking about the difference in scheme, Im talking the difference in actual in game play calling. Knapp can scheme and call plays just fine. But Hue was/is one of the best in the league at in-game play calls. Catching a D off-guard. Hue’s play calling aided our O-Line.
And we’ve just made to many mistakes. We’ve handicapped our coaching staff in many ways. Reece fumbling the reverse to Taiwan, dropped passes, in-excusible fumbles, and occasional poor WR play are all factors that affect everything.
The bottom line is that it isnt just ONE single thing. It’s a domino effect.
Perfectly timed flags by the refs dont help. Neither does DMC’s poor lane and pace choice. You cant ignore the fact that Goodson has no problem in this system and DMC struggles on the same plays. Some of that has to do with the fact that the D expects a pass when Goodson is in the backfield, credit what I said about the playcalling earlier. But some of it also has to do with Goodsons patience and field vision. It’s simply been better than DMC.
We’ve been a block here and there away from a lot more big runs by DMC. The line has to step up and be more consistent.
Like I said, it isnt just one thing.

A different scheme wont prevent DMC from that fumble against Atlanta. Just like it didnt prevent him from fumbling against Buffalo last year.
A different scheme isnt going to make Wiz 2.0 a better center. He and others, are simply getting beat physically. It’s that simple.
Our O-Line simply hasnt played well. Some of the pieces are the same, but they are mostly playing different positions. Veldheer hasnt been as good, Wiz should be back at LG, we should have kept Satelle, Brisel has been VERY inconsistent, and Willie Smith is learning on the job.
And lets not forget, a new scheme isnt going to get the refs off our back. We thought we had a chance with Al dying, but the night and day difference between the replacements and the real refs is proof positive that nothing will ever change for this team with regards to the refs. We have to be EXCELLENT to overcome them. The only time we overcame the refs in the modern era is when this team accepted the fact that the refs are out to get us and the team didnt wilt in the face of it, but used it to motivate them like we did in ‘02 after the tuck job. This team needs to stop with the “why us” “poor me” attitude and just accept it for what it is and overcome like a bunch of badda55es. It’s time to man up.

I think my HUGE criticism of McFadden is, if you can’t get going in one aspect of your game, get going in another aspect of your game. Like a baseball player who makes some great defensive plays if the stick isn’t working. If McFadden can’t run the ball effectively, McFadden HAS TO get the passing game going. Even that has failed miserably. That’s what Superstar players do, they get another aspect of their game up. Speaking of which when McFadden fumbled in the lst quarter of the Falcon game and the DE was rumbling down the field, can someone tell me who made the TD saving tackle?

Both very good post and I agree with some of both. My thoughts are the same as ever, Knapp and HIS zbs (not what thexans and what the donks ran for years with kubiak) sucks, the Oline is basically the same from last year with the exception of Brisel who btw was supposed to be an upgrade (jury still out on that) IMHO it is def the scheme Veldeer and Wiz are power blockers which is why their play has slipped same can be said for barnes. coop no doubt is a zbs guy along with Brisel but if two thirds of your Oline are power blockers that should tell you what the problem is right there the zbs doesnt fit them thus their regression thus Dmacs regression. And as for Dmac not running hard maybe he’s already checked out knowing this isnt gonna work for him. and as for goodson doing better you said it riff D’s arent keying on him when he enters the game thus more lanes to pick from. it is a domino affect our being able to run last year aided our Oline in pass protecting from the threat of a run now that is no longer the oline has regressed in pass protection also.

Don’t get me wrong. I like McFadden. But the results have just not been there. His best play this season other than the long TD run, was the tackle that saved the TD in the last game. THAT, was a GREAT play.
And the answer to the question: who made the TD saving tackle on McFadden’s fumble early in the last game? Carson Palmer. THAT’S what Superstars do.

Veldheer was drafted by Cable as a ZBS guy.
October 18th, 2012 at 3:44 pm
————————
I dont know if DMC has “checked out”. I would guess he hasnt. The effort has been there. He doesnt run down that DE and save a TD if he had “checked out” already.
And lets stop acting like our O-Line is “basically” the same as last year. It isnt. Wiz is playing a DIFFERENT position. Coop crossed that threshold and is officially a year too old to play this game. Veldheer is the only guy in the same position and he has regressed slightly. Willie Smith is new. The jury is definitely in on Brisel, he’s been poor to mediocre at best.
A different system wouldnt fix what ails us. I know it seems convenient and simple to just blame the scheme, but its not what is really going on.
October 18th, 2012 at 3:44 pm
We need this game real bad,we need the players and coaches on top of their game.
October 18th, 2012 at 3:45 pm
I thought McFadden showed a lot more patience behind the line this past weekend. That directly translated to him running the ball MUCH better. Yes, I’m factoring in the runs that were called back in how he looked overall.

mistic—LOL! ur such a tool. EVERYONE here knows all u talk about is black qb’s and how they are the “wave of the future” and how palmer and any white qb who hasn’t won a super bowl basically sucks. u try to claim u like some other white guys now and then but it’s basically the manning, rodgers, brady, etc. the guys who have won way too much and would make u look totally foolish if u dissed. but u go on and on about cam newton, who has never won anything and has struggled badly this year, simultaneously saying palmer sucks, when he has outplayed newton (and vick). calling me racist is hilarious. just look at how i ripped fangs last night. ur a blog joke with only ONE topic, simliar to beeech and sulivan. must be tuff being a black panther when they don’t really exist anymore.

I dont agree with this post.
DMC has made some great catches in the passing game, (and dropped a huge one against Miami).
He made a TD saving tackle after the Palmer fumble.
He has been very effective in picking up the blitz.
DMC’s enthusiasm has been there. He’s trying. Im not blasting the guy for his effort, just his execution.
=========================================
Don’t get me wrong. I like McFadden. But the results have just not been there.
THAT’S what Superstars do.
-=————–
And it is exactly what DMC did.
And it’s exactly what he did when he picked that screen pass up off his toe nails and took it for 20 on the game tying drive at the end.
Agreed, the overall production hasnt been there, but we’ve already rehashed over and over why that is, and it certainly isnt for lack of talent or effort on DMC’s part.
These guys watch the film and it dont lie. DMC is in that film room, its hard to “check out” of a system when the tape shows that it would work if he had made a cut here or there, or Meyers wasnt getting thrown into the backfield, or if our Guards could do a decent pull and make their block.
This is simple stuff we are getting beat at.
Stay faithful in DMC. He’s been part of the problem, but he will get it right at some point and we shouldnt dog him nearly as much as the other guys who arent pulling their weight. At least with DMC, we know what he is capable of.

When it all clicks we are going to rush for 250+ yards a game easy. Our line and TE’s have to start doing the simple stuff. No more fumbles. No more dropped passes.

I don’t think McFadden has “checked out”. In fact I know he hasn’t. But I don’t think he has completely “bought in” either. And I also know for a fact that the org is not going to completely change the direction and the way they think for one player. With the zone system the org should “theoretically” be able to put any back in there and get results, not have to draft Olinemen incredibly highly, which in both cases will save on cap money and high draft picks. They are not going to abandon that philosophy because one guy has not bought in. They will just get rid of that one guy.

Maybe he hasnt fully bought in, maybe he has. Either way, the way things have gone would shake anyones confidence. I think its safe to say his swagger and confidence isnt there.
That is why Im calling for the rest of the guys to start doing their jobs on a consistent basis so he can find that rythm/swagger again.
In an ideal world, we stick with DMC despite the fact that this system is supposed to work with an average back. Because this system with DMC running it well pretty much makes us unbeatable if the D halfway shows up in the 2nd half.

People are so quick to forget how we folded the past two seasons down the stretch. Maybe for once we are going to play better at the end of the year than the beginning? Either way, we were a 1-4 at the end of last season, we are a 1-4 team now. That isnt regression. That is actually progression considering our D is better, we have no run game, and we are less talented than last year.

What half time adjustments do you want? We’ve gone into each half of each game in a winnable position. Our scheme and preparation was working, our players werent. You dont just scrap a weeks worth of gameplanning at halftime. That doesnt happen in the NFL, especially early in the season when everything hasnt been installed yet.
If the plays are there but the players are f’n up, you keep calling those plays and stay the course. No alternative playbook is going to make us play more physical at the POA, catch easy balls, not fumble, and not commit dumb penalties.

The issues with Jackson were SO many. His clock management was pathetic, the team would get out coached in the second half of games, he could not do anything to fix the defense, his team played .200 ball with the season on the line. It’s not like the Dungver game where at the start of the second half Palmer completes a pass for a clear lst down that Allen does not challenge the spot. We punt, they score, we get rolled. That was probably a rookie mistake, that Allen corrected in the last game when he challenged an ATL reception that went for a lst.

Either way, we were a 1-4 at the end of last season, we are a 1-4 team now. That isnt regression. That is actually progression considering our D is better, we have no run game, and we are less talented than last year.

barnes played much better last year
Wiz also played center last year, my how we forget.
Moore name wasnt under the regressed list, read te entire post.
DHB had almost 1000 yds last year wont be close this year.
and I guess Reece just magicaly started getting mugged this year.
And ONCE AGAIN the BUFF,DEN.DET,SD games werent Hues fault those games are on chuck B= 12-4 FELLAS.
But I know Hue Was the HC he is supposed to see over the whole team!!! Well if that were true TAKE THAT SB BACK FROM GRUDEN IT BELONGS TO DUNGY AND MONTE KIFFIN TAKE THAT SB AWAY FROM BILL BILLICK AND GIVE IT TO MARVIN LEWIS.

Doc Nob gets less happy by the day.
I vote we let him fill up the PARTYDUDE 8000.
If he does a good job he can help unkoolKell serve those little sandwiches at the PMPP party

These are excellent ideas, Plunk.
It’ll give Nob hope, which, as you know, always leads to huge laughs for us
PMPP N FULL EFFECT

We can have Doc Slob clean the bowl after A few deuces have dumped. Im sure he will enjoy it since we know he is another Tom Cruise movie away from coming out of the closet

wasnt that the knock on Hue? He was a ROOKIE coach with no offseason no Dmac for most of the season and a qb off the couch midway through the season AND Chuck B as his DC. Hue did a helluva job for a ROOKIE HC imo under those circumstances.
====================================

Yeah but hue had our O ranked 9th what is it now?

Even if Hue was the greatest coach to ever grace the game it would not matter.
You could line up every single person in the East bay and they could all say Hue should not have been fired and it would not matter
Hue is gone. Get over it Besides
