RB Jones joins sidelined players

Running back Taiwan Jones is not practicing today, apprarently the victim of a sore knee that worsened overnight.
Jones was listed on the injury report Wednesday with the knee issue. It’s likely that his participating in practice aggravated the injury.
We won’t know more until we get a chance to speak with coach Allen and Jones after practice.
Beyond that, the Raiders remain relatively healthy five games into their season.
Right offensive tackle Khalif Barnes (groin), cornerback Shawntae Spencer (foot) and tight end Richard Gordon (hamstring) are the only other players not able to practice.
Spencer Tweeted last night that he is out of the walking boot after spending the past month or so in the device.
At this point, it’s safe to assume that Barnes, Gordon and Spencer won’t play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Therefore, look for Willie Smith to replace Barnes, Michael Huff to remain at left cornerback and David Ausberry to get more snaps at tight end. Matt Giordano and Mike Mitchell will get increased playing time at free safety.

– The Raiders have until 1:25 p.m. to announce whether Sunday’s game sold enough tickets in advance of the 72-hour deadline imposed by the league.
They sold out their first two regular-season home games this season and all eight last season.

– Linebacker Aaron Curry (knees) is practicing for a second straight day after spending the first six weeks on the physically unable to perform list.
Curry was unavailable for comment Wednesday. We’re hopeful that he speaks with the media today so that we can get his take on what he expects in his recovery from an issue that surfaced during offseason workouts.

Who cares about RG3 or Cam Newton? Is this the Redskins or Panthers board? Did I make a wrong turn somewhere? If they don’t play for the S&B, fook em anyways.
    ==============

no gradkowski lover, i was drawing a comparison to A RAIDER TP6.

My point is what they have accomplished in thier short careers, has turned heads and changed thinking in the nfl. TP6 is on par with these two athletically and has shown to be better than anyone thought with his arm and qb smarts.

Im looking forward to seeing pryor in the mix at the end of the season.
    ========================================================
Talk about tainted rose colored glasses? TP is on par? In what world? Did you actually watch his play? He look lost. Looked confused. Looked like what he was, a rookie with a ton of work to do. Why set your self up like that? We don’t even know if he can be the #1 backup, because all he proved is he’s a project. A big project. With no guarantees he can even play at the NFL level.
    Except in your mind.
    Why?
    Because he’s black.
See what I mean? You go on and on how TP should be out there, when no one except you is sure he’s NFL ready.

Taiwan is still on the team? I hadn’t noticed.

Here’s a name you draft types will be hearing more of as the weeks pass and who would look VERY VERY good in silver and black:

Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M. 6′4″, 250 lbs.

So far he has 8.5 sacks, 15 TFL, 4 QB hurries, 1 pass deflection, 1 forced fumble and 1 blocked kick….all this through just *six* games.

    Give it a rest Mistic.

When does the NBA season start? The NFL season ended long ago!

Time to focus on the offseason!

I know that they have 3 weeks to activate Curry, but I wish they would decide to activate him now if he’s a full practice participant. We need an infusion of his intensity and demeanor and anything we can do to cut into #55′s snap counts I’m down for.

Is there a go/no-go date for this week to activate him?

  • Purvisman/Intrepid/ Full Disclosure

Sully purged himself of a lot of idiocy last night and is almost making sense. Still trying to foment discord, naturally, but hey, let’s enjoy it while we can before his dumb tank fills up again.

That is reason to believe he deserves a chance to show what he can do in a real game once we are mathematically out of it.
If you plan on keeping palmer than no need to risk injury at the end of the year in the last meaning less 3-4 games.=============Wow again, Mistic. Thank you.

    “666,

Steve Young was a running QB who won the SB…..but he could toss the rock pretty well too., lol.

Why didn’t Al go after him again?”

You proved my point because Steve Young had “6″ TD passes in the Super Bowl that he won and its still stands as a record.

  • Dakota

That Steve Young guy was pretty good for a Mormon…..another Mormon is going to get a shot come January.

guest123 Says: Is there a go/no-go date for this week to activate him?===========Wondering about that, also. Something like 3 days before practicing in pads, but I guess that’s IR. For all I know, they can activate him and demote somebody else at any time. Don’t they have to let the league know who’s active for a game in advance. That might be the go/no go point.

guest123 Says: I wish they would decide to activate him now if he’s a full practice participant.===You can’t fully participate in practice while on the practice squad? If true, need to rename that group of players. All 8 of them playing amongst themselves ain’t gonna accomplish much.

The main reason the Raiders are losing is poor coaching…

Knapp’s pathetic play calling, ZBS ect.

Allen’s failure to have a backup long snapper.

Tarver switching to the 3 man rush with 40 seconds left.

The failure to use a 6’3″ 230 lb back that runs a 4.4 forty…Terelle Pryor.

I hate to say it, but if Hue was coaching this team, we would have a winning record.

“Taiwan is still on the team? I hadn’t noticed.”

@Dakota, Taiwian has been the Gunner on Kickoffs & one of the few special teams standouts this season.Still a little upset @ him for the fumble against the Chargers.
