Bartell practicing for first time in long time

Cornerback Ron Bartell is practicing today for the first time since he suffered a shoulder injury in the regular-season opener.
Bartell was placed on injured reserve/designated to return after his injury, and he wasn’t permitted to return to practice until last Saturday. Given the Raiders were in Kansas City that day and not practicing, today was his first opportunity to get back on the field.
Bartell is working with the scout team for now, which makes sense because he needs time to get back into the swing of things and he isn’t able to play in a game until Nov. 11.
The Raiders have a 21-day window in which to activate Bartell to the 53-man roster. Given he can’t play until the Nov. 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens, he likely won’t be activated this week.
Once Bartell is activated, the Raiders have to make a corresponding roster move to free up a spot for Bartell on the 53-man roster.
That means the Raiders are looking at waiving two players from their current roster within the next 10 days or so, with the prospect of linebacker Aaron Curry also being activated.

– Center Stefen Wisniewski is practicing today despite an ankle injury he suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Wisniewski’s left ankle is taped rather heavily.
Backup running back Mike Goodson also is practicing on the heels of an injury suffered against the Chiefs. He came out of the game with a turf-toe injury.

– Defensive tackle Richard Seymour is not practicing today. He is on the field, though.
At one point, he spent 15 minutes or so speaking with coach Dennis Allen.

– Right offensive tackle Khalif Barnes (groin) and cornerback Shawntae Spencer also are not practicing. There still is no timetable for their return from injuries suffered against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 16.
Curry is practicing for the seventh straight time since he returned from the physically unable to perform list. The Raiders have one more week to decide whether to activate Curry, waive him or place him on season-ending injured reserve.

DHB is best suited for a quick hitch route and let him run with the rock afterwards.

Wheeler would have never been picked up by Al Davis. He wasnt a former first rounder.

In other news, Romneysia struck again today. He’s all for increasing FEMA’s budget now. j/k…but not really.

actually there are different levels of politicians. There is the serial panderer wannabe in chief Mitty. Then there are wonderful GOP politicians like Sen Tom Coburn, OK or Scott Brown, Mass.

BTW, one more win by the Raiders and I fully expect you to cheer up on our season alright.

Evening Nation, hey all you faker fans get used to the sting of defeat. You all will have a decent regular season but championship? doubt it. Fakers had their time and now its over, their team is old and will lack chemistry. Younger teams have taken over and your beloved Fakers shall slowly fade to the black. Mia and OKC will run them out the gym as your perimeter players (Kobe, Nash,& Artest) are old and cant guard the new regime of the NBA. Nash vs Westbrook? thats a joke of a matchup and their are a lot of good points where that will be the case as well. LA Clipps will now be the toast of LA, Faker fans better jump ship quick cuz the parties OVA!!!

when asked about FEMA june 13th 2011

“anytime you have a chance to take something from the federal goverment and send it back to states that’s the right direction and if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector. Instead of thinking in federal budget what we should cut we should ask ourselves the opposite question what should we keep? we should take all of what we’re doing at the federal level and say what are the things we’re doing that we don’t have to do and those things we gotta stop doing because we’re borrowing 1.6 trillion dollars more this year than we took in.
we cannot afford to do those things without jeopordizing the future for our kids

    when asked about FEMA 10/31/2012

“I believe that FEMA plays a key role in working with states and localities to prepare for and respond to natural disasters,” Romney said in a statement. “As president, I will ensure FEMA has the funding it needs to fulfill its mission, while directing maximum resources to the first responders who work tirelessly to help those in need, because states and localities are in the best position to get aid to the individuals and communities affected by natural disasters.”

And yet I see very smart guys like JFB tells me how much he likes Mitty and how he hated Hue for his BS. SMH.

I can see guys like Dakota and Brownie on here being hard core wingnuts because they dont know any better. But when I see a smart guy like JFB calling out BSers and yet still vouch for Romney, it’s mind boggling.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says the passing attack in Green Bay is carrying the offense, and it’s past time for the Packers to get things going on the ground.

Rodgers said during his weekly radio show on WAUK-AM that the Packers can’t just throw the ball on every play, and so they’ve got to get more out of their running game than they had on Sunday, when they picked up 66 yards on 26 carries.

“Quantity is important – we want to have a certain amount of runs every game to keep them honest,” Rodgers said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “But I have to say the quality of them has not been anywhere where we’d like them. . . . We’ve got to run the ball better.”

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said this week that he’s sticking with Alex Green, who is averaging just 2.9 yards a carry, as the No. 1 running back. So there aren’t any reinforcements coming to turn things around, at least until Cedric Benson returns from a foot injury, which won’t happen for several weeks.

Which means that Rodgers, who is on pace to throw a career-high 594 passes this season, is going to keep having to carry the offense. Rodgers is right that the Packers’ running game isn’t good enough, and there’s little reason to think it’s going to get better any time
