Raiders make move on Curry

The Raiders activated outside linebacker Aaron Curry to the 53-man roster Tuesday, doing so before the deadline reached from them to make a decision on how to proceed.
The options were: activate Curry, waive him on place him on season-ending injured reserve. Curry was at the tail end of a 21-day evaluation period in his return from the physically unable to perform list.
The Raiders waived linebacker Vic So’oto to make room for Curry on the roster. Curry is eligible to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Curry missed some of the offseason workouts, all of training camp and the first eight games, while recovering from sore knees. At one point, he went to Southern California for treatments from a specialist.
It’s likely that the Raiders will use Curry on special teams and as a backup at all three linebacker positions, at least in the short term as he gets back into football shape.
The Raiders will have to make another roster move if they activate cornerback Ron Bartell in time for the Baltimore Ravens game Sunday.
Bartell is back at practice, but he doesn’t count on the 53-man roster because he is in his reacclimation period after being placed on injured reserve earlier this season. He suffered a shoulder injury in the regular-season opener and missed the past seven games.

“Your take on the upcoming game?”

As a gambling man…We do not do well when we have to travel to the East Coast to play a game we should play a close game and Baltimore will not cover the 7.5 spread.

As a Raider fan I am optimistic about every game I hope McFadden can go on Sundays and Moore has 170 yards receiving and our D can hold.

After last night I have lost all respect for the american people.

    Americans are idiots.

Can someone explain to me how we can re-elect a person who basically did NOTHING he promised to do and has this country in a deep, deep mess? And then dance around and scream “4 more years”? 4 more yr’s. of WHAT? THIS CRAP?

It’s just so easy for all these lazy, do nothing leeches to blame Bush and never to give responsibility to the guy they voted for to fix it.

Last night was nothing more than a popularity contest with everyone willingly ignoring reality in favor of voting for the guy who looks and sounds “cooler” than the other.

People of color dance around all happy to give 4 more yr’s. to the guy who oversaw an 11% drop in their annual income level. “Yea…we need more of that”.

Last night showed without a doubt just how stupid this country has become.

Save the popularity contests for American Idol.

It’s all about IMAGE and everybody hates the successful white guy. It was about resentment and white guilt and people not knowing the issues. Better said not CARING about the issues and wanting more free stuff for doing nothing.

“Gimme more free stuff Mr. President. Weeeeeee. We don’t have to work to get anything either. Give me a high 5″.

We didn’t do that bad against undefeated Atl on the road , we were just a couple of plays away from winning, so I think we can beat anytime if we bring it or also lose to any team when we take the day off (TB game ) on D that was

No and you are misunderstanding what I was saying I think its pretty elementary to know that if Iran nukes Israel it would start ww3 I have said that in my last posts its common knowledge.

Its cool you are not understanding what I am saying no reason to get all bent about it.
    ================================================

Yeah, I guess I misunderstood you.

You must have meant that Achmedinnerjacket is only going to bomb Israel with conventional weapons.

Heck, that’s nothing the world should be concerned about.

So which one is it – should we care if Iran bombs Israel or not.

I want to understand what you’re saying.

    Your final answer, please.

In Miami , Buffalo has not beaten NE in years and have been getting RAPED in those games , but Buff played pretty well in Houston ,last week so gotta believe they can finally hang with NE and beat them or atleast make it a game ,after all they’re divisional foes, should wait till the morning of Sunday the line should be Ne -17 lol

Im afraid that the match up in baltimore is not looking very good.

This team traveling east has one of the worst records in football since forever. Not saying they cant buck the trend or there is anything supernatural at work, but they just havent been a very good road team for quite a few years.

Flacco & smith vs our dbs is a nightmare. they will carve up our defense like pilgrims carved native Americans at the dinner table.

rice vs our run defense is also troubling for obvious reasons. this baltimore team is now a high flying offense in fact very similar to the offense we just faced. power running and deep passing rule the day, our defense is at a major disadvantage.

The raven run defense is isnt any where near what it used to be but it will not matter. for one thing we dont have a back that can exploit them, jones has proven he cant be trusted with ball security so i cant see handing him the ball more than 10 times. marcel reece is a converted wr, and im not sure he can carry the load, for more than a few carries a game. dmac and goodson on ankle sprains are about as scary as new born puppy.

palmer vs reed and company. surprisingly enough palmer has a wining record vs his former divisional opponent. This bodes well for palmer as he clearly understand what the ravens used to do on defense.

The fact is palmer must win a shoot out in this game, flacco and the boys will score and score often. they know palmer will be in a pass heavy mode and they will send the house at him noticing his struggles vs the rush over the last few weeks. palmer will need to cut the turn overs and keep pace by leading to touch downs. palmer must improve on a miserable 3rd down failure. okland has converted 32 of 107 attempts on 3rd down for a measly 29 %!!!!

we will need to avoid 3 and outs because flacco will score in response. turnovers and 3rd down futility will mane Oakland gets blown right out of baltimore.

    Palmer could be struggling, or maybe this;

According to Pro Football Focus, #Raiders Palmer has avg. 2.57 secs to throw, 28th of 33 QBs

  • eastoaklandraider

This Bmore game will be a even stiffer test even without Ray and Haloti. its an east coast game the Ravens have transitioned to an offensive team whith Flacco Rice Tsmith and Aboldin. Rice is their main threat because he poses problems in the air as well as the ground. This is gonna be a tough game for our LBs keeping up with Rice all day long. If we have any chance of winning this game our D will have to get off the field on 3rd downs, we cannot allow the Ravens to go on long sustained drives as our D has shown the propensity to get tired during second halves and that not good esp on the road.
