Raiders make move on Curry

By Steve Corkran
Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 at 1:29 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders activated outside linebacker Aaron Curry to the 53-man roster Tuesday, doing so before the deadline reached from them to make a decision on how to proceed.
The options were: activate Curry, waive him on place him on season-ending injured reserve. Curry was at the tail end of a 21-day evaluation period in his return from the physically unable to perform list.
The Raiders waived linebacker Vic So’oto to make room for Curry on the roster. Curry is eligible to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Curry missed some of the offseason workouts, all of training camp and the first eight games, while recovering from sore knees. At one point, he went to Southern California for treatments from a specialist.
It’s likely that the Raiders will use Curry on special teams and as a backup at all three linebacker positions, at least in the short term as he gets back into football shape.
The Raiders will have to make another roster move if they activate cornerback Ron Bartell in time for the Baltimore Ravens game Sunday.
Bartell is back at practice, but he doesn’t count on the 53-man roster because he is in his reacclimation period after being placed on injured reserve earlier this season. He suffered a shoulder injury in the regular-season opener and missed the past seven games.

I’m ready to see what Bergs has to offer. Can’t do no worse than big Willie.

Oh he can’t be worse than Smith, we might even find out we got ourselves a keeper , that will be 1 less headache to worry about in the offseason

  • fingers

We need to get those injured Corners back…. Thought Huff was getting the hang of it… But Noooooo

  • DMAC

HuFf,branch ,gio all got beat deep, I never thought ill be praising Lee at this point but the guy is holding up on his side of the field ,we don’t see his name gets called a lot ,which is a good thing for a CB

Pat Lee has been a surprise. Seems to be getting better every week. Forgot this was the dude who took Woodson’s spot in the superbowl and played well. He’s been an good insurance for Spencer/Bartell.

What a ripoff to be a KC fan. They got $28 parking, $10 drafts, and $200 boxes. They are bleeding money from all they steal from the locals, but those tards keepin on shelling it out for the opportunity to wear bags on their heads with magic marker tears. LMAO at Chef fans.

RAIDERMAN99 if America, Europe, China and Russia all decided to not care about the middle east and their wars, then there would be no fear of ww3 if Iran decides to bomb Israel….but that is not the reality we live in today the US has aligned itself with Israel for so long that an attack on Israel would basically be interpreted as an attack on the US and this of course is what you are talking about, end of the world, nuclear holocaust, etc.

My point is that it should not be that way let them fight among themselves like they have for the last 6,000 years or however old their religions says the earth is.

Its only been 20 years since we became involved in the ME and tell me what good it has done?

The D-line is old and needs a serious influx of young blue chip talent. As the season wears on, I expect that the older guys will wear down or the coaching staff will be forced to rotate in bench players. It’s way past its prime as a unit and the only way to get better is to move on.

Cassell got the Pastorini treatment treatment a few weeks back

  • RAIDERMAN99

So Bartell can fully practice with the team while on IR and the Raids don’t have to make a roster move unless they activate him on Sunday ?

Do I have that correct ?

At the start of the year, I thought the Bartell signing was probably Reggie’s biggest move and thought it would have a huge impact on the 2012 season.

Breisel seems to be a wash-out – jury still out on Bartell.

Curious to see if we possibly have a decent corner and what the Raids will do with Mike ‘real defense’ Huff.

    yep,

I can remember actually thinking that the Chefs outspent us for the rights to Eric Winston. I thought he was good. He’s horrible. But so is Briesel. I don’t know how Houston managed to make those guys look like studs. Excellent coaching is all I can figure.

Sure, why not? I didn’t like that move earlier in the year. But Houston inside makes sense the way he’s been playing consistently and with a steady high strung motor. I’m coming full circle on this idea and basically admitting I was wrong.

Not worried about Elway either, anybody can be made to look good when you have PM. Elway likes to live the lavish lifestyle too much, play golf, things like that to ever be a successful GM.

That’s true , maybe they haven’t faced too many 3-4s this year? Hopefully they are facing 3-4 rest of the year and lose all the game ,some one needs to send Pm to bench , they got no back up plan lol

It’s really hard to tell ,it could be combo of both, or kinda confused in the d scheme , this will take a little while to see the D play like we all want to see ,remember its the first time for most of the players playing in real scheme in a while
