McFadden, Goodson among four not practicing

As expected, running back Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson are not practicing today as they recover from high-ankle sprains suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
We won’t have an update on the status of Oakland’s top two running backs until we get a chance to speak with coach Dennis Allen in about 90 minutes.
McFadden underwent X-rays and an MRI soon after his injury. Both returned negative. Goodson had an MRI on Monday. We won’t know the result of that test until we speak with Allen.
For now, the Raiders are making do with second-year back Taiwan Jones and fullback Marcel Reece. It’s conceivable that the Raiders will sign a free-agent back or sign rookie Jeremy Stewart from the practice squad if it reaches the point where McFadden and Goodson are ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Allen said Monday that he hasn’t ruled out McFadden.

– Defensive lineman Desmond Bryant is back at practice today, two days after he was released from a local hospital after complaining of a fast, irregular heartbeat.
That bodes well for his availabilty for the Ravens game, given Allen said he didn’t expect Bryant back this soon.

– Defensive tackle Richard Seymour and cornerback Shawntae Spencer are not practicing today. Seymour has missed several practices in recent weeks, likely because of his chronic knee.
Spencer was slated to hit the field Tuesday as a means of gauging how far his recovery has progressed from a foot injury he suffered Sept. 16.
Allen should provide an update on how things went during Spencer’s workout when we convene with Allen.

– Linebacker Aaron Curry is practicing today for the first time this season as a member of Oakland’s 53-man roster. He was activated Tuesday.
Curry missed some of the offseason workouts, all of training camp and the first eight games while rehabilitating his sore knees.
It remains to be seen how the Raiders intend to use Curry the second half of the season. Best guess is, he will play some on special teams and be a situational player on defense as long as the three starters are healthy.
Curry also could give the Raiders the flexibility to use the 3-4 more than they did the first half of the season. He is versatile enough to play inside, alongside Rolando McClain, in the 3-4, with Miles Burris and Philip Wheeler on the outside.

– No further word yet on whether Allen intends to stick with Willie Smith at right offensive tackle, go back to original starter Khalif Barnes or try rookie Tony Bergstrom.
Barnes returned to practice today after missing most of the past two months with a groin injury that required surgery.
Certain things that take place at practice we aren’t allowed to report upon. Who is taking reps at right offensive tackle right now is one of thoes things.
So, we’ll have to wait and see what Allen says about what’s going on at practice right now.

In 6 years when Palmer retires a Raider Mistic will still be flapping his drivel all over this place. CP3 wins a super bowl for us and Mistic will give you 100 reasons why we won in SPITE of Palmer… blah blah blah. At this point he has been reduced to a troll with the occasional decent post.
    ==============

6 years? doesnt he have to first get off the roster bubble for next year by passing his tr out phase?

If you believe he has already done that, do you think his 28 turnovers in 18 games is worth the 13 million he is due next year? better question, do the raiders see him as being worth 13 mill next year?

if palmer gets to the superbowl he will have delivered on hu jacks promise and validated the trade. i will be happy to see my team in the playoffs and give palmer credit if he plays well, just as i always do.

I don’t see how some of you are so “starry-eyed” when it comes to this week’s game. We just got stomped by a so-so Bucs team(sans a very late attempt at comeback because they stopped caring), and we barely beat the worst teams of the league the past 2 weeks. And some of you are talking about us going cross country, on the east coast (where we perenially stink anyway), and beating the Baltimore Ravens in THEIR house, a notoriously difficult place to play anyway? Are you kidding?

Please, watch the game again. Watch an inept offense that kept going 3 and out, 3 and out, 3 and out, until the very end of the game, causing our defense to have to LIVE on the field for pretty much the entire game.

Watch a defense that got manhandled by a rookie back who hasn’t played in enough games yet to prove that he’s going to be the class of the league. Absolutely bludgeoned on basic running plays, long touchdown runs, back to back!

A Baltimore defense that still has Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata, and Terrelle Suggs, 3 guys who would run circles around our D. A Baltimore offense who has a truly proven nasty running back in Ray Rice and an efficient passing game. If Doug Martin spanked us, what on earth do you think Ray Rice is going to do?

What on earth are you people drinking? Seriously?
    —————–

I’m not predicting a win, but the game is winnable IF the D comes to play and can get off the field on 3rd downs if not it will be a long cold day for our Raiders.

They hardly gave up , we had a chance to beat them by scoring a TD in the end , how can you say they relaxed , Palmer picked up his on his has back and nearly led a come back , it was unfortunate he couldn’t come through in the end , but that would have been one of the greatest come backs in awhile , Palmer made it an awesome game , Palmer should have had couple more touchdowns on his stat sheet , 1 TD to hagan called bak due to Smith holding , 1 pass to Streater he should have caught , so we should have went into the half with the score of 21-7

qbs must face down the pressure and protect the ball. a few ints will happen from time to time and i can live with that. however 28 turnovers in 18 games cant simply be dismissed because of it being pressure situations.

Moore is scared as fuk going into the middle , dropped a pass again in last game that would have went for a long gain, he can only run those routes , the ones we run when we play football with our friends at the park , go route, drag route, bubble screens little fake n go , etc , he totally s8cks at the other routes, hence why he lasted till the 5th round , ofcourse he’s a deep threat and threat to score from anywhere even with limited route tree, but when going gets tough , and the d know what’s coming an you have to run hot routes and real routes ,that’s when your receivers need to step up , all the Palmer ints were in pressure situations

I’m not talking about pressure situations as in where we are just coming from behind, I’m talking about where we coming from behind plus the Oline is not giving more than 2.5 seconds for Palmer to throw, plus the receivers inability to run real routes, until those things happen , we will be playing with limited playbook, pressure on Qb’s throwing to receiver running the same route all damn game long and D expecting what’s coming so its going to lead to = int

TB didnt own us the had 3 big runs other than that they didnt do much.

We should have went into half time 21-7 but thanks to Smith holding , and streaters inability to snag the end zone pass ,we were only up 10-7 an then you got to figure which team is fresher in the 2nd half …we came into the TB game after playing against 2 teams coming of byes and TB came into the came coming off 10 days resMistaBrown Says:
t , so don’t you think that might have went into how we played in the 2nd half ?

Defensive lineman Desmond Bryant is back at practice today, two days after he was released from a local hospital after complaining of a fast, irregular heartbeat….also he complained of hearing his hair growing.

funny no matter what i post people fixate on what i say about palmer. i give him credit when he plays well and it is ignored. i post about eli manning or johhny manziel and it is ignored. i post about the raider coaches or the defnse and people cant see it.

Looks like people are really disappointed in the way things are turning out and they are upset with me for predicting it, then reminding them of it.

In my opinion the teams our D went against before TB , gave our team fake confidence , we took those teams out of their comfort zone , and that’s what out D thought they D by limited Tb to 7 points in first half , but little did they knew TB would come out running and score most of their points on the Ground, they were totally geared toward stopping TB O , plus you got to take into account which team was fresher , we faced a opponent 3 weeks in a row coming off extended rest and now we make the cross country trip against B-more after getting best up by well rested teams 3 weeks in a row

WHAT!!! You were the main person who was in here gushing over the JAX KC wins others including me tried to warn you that those wins didnt mean much but you insisted a win is a win. dont back track now lol you are soooo lost.
