Of course backups come in, that's what there for. But your argument is that once the season is 'LOST', they 'Commonly' replace the starter.

Out of curiosity, which NFL teams supplanted their starting QB (with exception to Ponder) at the end of a losing season last year? Pure curiosity, that’s all.

********************

and……game.

====================

I’m disappointed. Mistic left without answering my question.

======

HE will come back when all this is forgotten
=====================

why exclude ponder? this has happened in many nfl cities and in many different years.

mcnabb out ponder in

gmckown out jamarcuss in

detmer out mcnabb in

george out culpepper in

plunk out wilson in

orton out tebow in

hart out lomax in

Johnson out vick in

flutie out johnson in

macmahon out, fuller in

blakw out smith in

esiason out klingler in

pete out ware in

this list could go on forever and span across several decades.

not sure why you want to argue over this being an accepted commomn practice but documented history makes you look foolish

-------------------

I specifically asked about last season. 2011 to be precise.

Not to be insensitive but just curious.

If this were Dennis Allen (1st yr. coach just like Pagano) and he had a dreaded disease, would the national media coverage even come close? Would Jaworski wear a "DennisStrong" t-shirt on national tv?

Would anybody besides us really even care?

I wish Pagano the best and a full recovery, (even tho i've always disliked the guy for his anti-Raider comments) so that's not my point in asking this.

according to mistic, these players will play the final quarter of the season:

pryor over palmer
parsons over carlisle
nix over brisiel
ausberry over myers
streeter over moore
criner overdhb
bilukidi over kelly
bryant over seymour
crawford over houston
goethel over mcclain
clayton over wheeler
mitchell over branch
admas over bartell
lee over huff

because, u know, it's COMON practice to play the youngsters and sit the starters in the last few games of a losing season.

LOL!

2011 teams with losing records and their finishing qb situations:

wash: grossman NOT beck or banks
min: ponder OVER mcnabb
car: newton
tb: freeman
sea: t.jackson NOT whitehurst
stl: bradford
mia: henne
buf: fitzpatrick NOT thigpen
cle: mccoy
jax: gabbert
ind: orlovsky NOT painter
kc: cassel NOT palko

soooo…………looks like ONE team shelved their veteran for their rookie, and that happened midseason.

u have been EXPOSED!
=======

lol you are desperate arent you?

it has been a comomn practice to sit starters on losing teams.

This has happened forever in the nfl and just posted a sample list that goes back to the 80’s

If you are trying to pigeon hole the discussion to some assigned timetable of last year it would then ignore the other 90 or so years that this practice has been in play.

I said it is a common practice, my statement is in reference to the entire history of the nfl, not based on last year independently

Also it isnt limited to just “rookies’. rookie was in our discussion specifically because we have pryor, essentially a rookie.

*********************

LOL! i just PORVED u wrong and ur still dancing.

of course, over history, there have been qb's who replaced other qb's. u said it was COMMON for teams with losing records at the end of the year to sit down veterans and see what their young players have. like they do in baseball. i just showed u that it happened ONCE last year, and it happened midseason (ponder).

it is NOT COMMON to sit down veteran starting qb's who are in the plans for the future to see what the 3rd stringer is made of. that's what preseason is for.

u are simply WRONG and won't admit it.

name other positions on the field that this COMMON practice happens!

u can't do it can u?

there is simply NO WAY that the raiders will sit down a qb that is on a record setting pace, in order to give the 3rd stringer, who has dubious nfl qb abilities, a chance to prove himself.

JUST ADMIT UR WRONG.

Think it's time for some mid-term grading of our 2012 Oakland Raiders. Too time consuming to go into individual player grading - but let's try for an overview, shall we ?

OVERALL GRADE: D
The 3-5 record might not be much of a surprise, but fans of the team have to be disappointed in the performance nonetheless.

The 0-2 start within the division served to dash our hopes very early, and the complete disappearance of any semblance of a running game has been a huge disappointment. Playoff hopes are extremely unrealistic, but more importantly, 2012 doesn't appear to have the makings of a season to build upon.

COACHING: D-
Tits Allen is off to a less than auspicious start. The Krapp hiring was an early warning sign, and this staff appears to be in over it's head. Quick to make changes to existing schemes that were working - slow to make changes and adjustments to strategies that aren't. Questionable use of making the most of the roster available or maximizing player production. The reduction in penalties and Tarver's revamping of the defensive scheme whilst scrambling to overcome a depleted secondary is all that prevents me from giving the coaching staff an F.

I'm extremely disappointed with what I've seen so far. It's not just the record or the slow start. I need to see evidence this team is moving in the right direction in the second half of 2012. Frankly, I'm not optimistic about that happening.

Do not see this squad winning more than 5 games.

Seems like we were just eagerly awaiting the start of the 2012 season and now it's half way done. Time passes quickly, as does life, gentlemen.

ZBS when all linemen are on same page, you can pretty much stick any guy at RB and they will be successful , in PBS you need a talented RB , who was probably a high Draft pick or some one who cost a lot of money in FA to be successful
