I think the praise for Soup comes from him being undefeated in the division which everybody can admit we were all feeling good when we actually knew the Raiders dominated the west. But we had alot more goin on back then then we do now i.e. quality backup RB and shutdown CB. What i do miss though is us whooping the broncos, i just hope CP3 dont go the opposite of Soup and fall 0-3 to them as a Raider.

Both games our D let the Denver run wild to tune of over 500+ rushing yards combined , not sure many teams have winning records after those kinda D stats

OK, I got issues with the above statement. Manning may be the most cerebral, defense reading and adjusting QB of all time in the NFL. To say that any rookie QB can even approach that is hilarious. Aside from RGIII, there are 30 other starting QBs that also can’t match Manning in this area. One that is close is Brady, probably top 3-5 in this area. Luck has shown that he can become a top 5 in this area as well, as his head is probably his best asset. No matter how good an athlete, you don’t get into Stanford without a lot of smarts.

RGIII might someday be really good at reading defenses. He’s slightly better than the average rookie QB so far, and that’s a great start! But that’s it. He’s not even in the same conversation in this regard as some of the legendary, HOF brainiac QBs mentioned above. The only legit conversation is if he’s as good as Luck is at this point in his career, and I’m dubious there because that is Luck’s best strength and it’s a secondary strength of RGIII.

Put another way, if you took away RGIII’s running threat and made him a mostly pocket passer in the Indy system, at this point in his career I beleive that he would be less successful than Luck has been this far.

I’m not saying he won’t be successful, but I am say most clearly that he has shown nothing yet that proves he can read a defense as well as any of Manning, Brady or Luck.
