Its 4:45 and coffee is almost ready.
Some semis stopped by with great takes last night/
Ever notice the trolls get real quite most friday and saturday evenings

    Good Morning Nation and Plunk!

I imagine DA and Tarver got on the players about the poor tackling last game, so I don’t expect more offenders repeating the same mistakes again.

Baltimore is 22nd against the pass and 28th against the run.

If we manage to amass more than a 100 yds on the ground and win the time of possession, we’ll put ourselves in a good position to steal this game. Getting an early score and taking the crowd out of the game would be a plus.

    Win one for coach Williams!

  5. RaiderRockstar Says:

Brandian Ross & Coye Francies are hot garbage!!

the fact that we cut Pat Lee and placed Spencer on I.R. about a week before he’s ready to return pisses me off just a little bit

I hope these dopes never get pressed into live action on defense :(

  6. RaiderRockstar Says:

    Miami,

    I’m thinking the same thing.

    Kelly, Bryant, Houston, Bilukidi
    Shaughnessy, Tollefson, Carter, Crawford

these guys better play out of their freaking minds today for the D-Line Coach. Flacco & Rice better be seeing stars and throwing their helmets in disgust coming off the field on the sidelines!!

I posted yesterday that I had an odd dream that the Raiders beat the Titans 39-34, so thats the score i’ll go with.

    Oakland Raiders 39-Baltimore 34

  11. RaiderRockstar Says:

Allen & Tarver just put the players thru a padded practice with hitting, didn’t they?

just got abused by the Bucs. Terrell’s son dies

the defense should be fired up

offensively, we got Palmer at the QB … the Raven killer
    with solid WR’s & TE’s

our run game has been crap, but now enter 2 young horses (Jones & Stewart) ready to showcase their skills

yeah – I think we win by double digits unless Willie Smith gets paid to let defenders blow by him repeatedly (again)

how many years are we gonna have a matador at RT?

After seeing Gallery, Green, Harris, Barnes & Smith … I think Bergstrom could be our best RT of the past 10 years!!

  12. RaiderRockstar Says:

last time we played the Ravens, a rookie Flacco ran for a TD passed for a TD and caught a TD. Right?

I don’t miss the “Wildcat” and I hope Harbaugh forgot all about it.

this time their other QB is Tyrod Taylor instead of Troy Smith

  13. MiamiRaider78 Says:

Baltimore is due for a loss at home.

    LOL@ Matador comment…

Couldn’t we have Richard Gordon lined up to help Smith block?

  14. Raideraholic (AKAHairyBush) Says:

One thing that cracks me up when you read all lot of the previews for the Oak/Bal game is all the “experts” make such a big deal about McFadden not playing.
The reality is he he has been a non factor with the exception of the big run against Pittsburgh and closing out the KC game.

  15. RaiderRockstar Says:

Couldn’t we have Richard Gordon lined up to help Smith block?

    ***

yes, but that limits your offense by taking a playmaker off the field

Palmer would have to make more with less, but I’m sure he’d rather do that than pull grass out of his facemask every series

  16. Raideraholic (AKAHairyBush) Says:

I was a little confused about the release of Pat lee.
After watching some film and seeing his responsibilty in the Doug Martin big runs I can see why they are making an example of him. If D. Martin is even some what contained last sunday the Raiders would likely be 4-4.

  17. RaiderRockstar Says:

    HB,

the media knows nothing. They probably think DMAC is playing like a Top 5 RB right now, just because he was healthy

That bodes well for us during the offseason, because if we stick with Knapp’s WCO/ZBS I think McFadden will be traded. 2013 is his “contract year” and he’ll be a FA in 2014

  18. Raideraholic (AKAHairyBush) Says:

I want coach Williams to be our Pagano inspiration.

  19. RaiderRockstar Says:

It sucks that we are 3-5 but it is good to see the fight in this team. The old Raiders (last decade specifically) would have rolled over after being down in the 4th quarter. Makes you feel like you have a fighting chance even when the chips are down.

  25. MiamiRaider78 Says:

    Enjoy your dau RaiderRockstar!

Our lack of a running game will always result in Palmers pass attempts to increase and with that the chance of a turnover. Combine that with the matador RT Willie Smith…Not good for Carson.

We need to cause some turnovers this game.

Palmers arm and Janos leg could factor into today’s game….I think Palmers gonna put some points up….

  35. Plunketthead Says:

I hope that pads practice pays off enough to stop Rice.
Ravens game plan = run rice and sneak WR’s past Raider defenders into wide open TD’s like everyone else has done

  36. Plunketthead Says:

How would you like to be coach of a NFL cherleading squad. You know those broads are fighting all the time and showing up hungover and half of them are on bipolar meds like the rest of the USA.

    —–
Notice how 2 of the first 3 plays in that video the balls end up on the ground and in the hands of a Saints player.

  39. big pep Says:

maybe Taiwan will be fine behind this zbs, just because i think he has faster (twitch muscles) than D-mac. allowing him to stop and turn a bit faster. maybe? I do bielieve that D-mac and those skinny legs cant take the punishment.

  40. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

Baltimore is ranked worse than the Raiders in run D. Maybe I will start Jones in FF this week.

  41. MiamiRaider78 Says:

Well, Taiwan knows he’ll be cut if he falls under the “repeat offenders”, so he better correct his ball security issues.

  42. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

Call me crazy, but I have a feeling Jones is going to have a great game today.

  43. Twocents Says:

Not feeling too confident this AM. I can accept a loss as long as we keep it close but being totally embarrased would be devastating.
Maybe a Bloody Mary will boost my spirits.

  44. fingers Says:

    35. Yep, the Raiders have been getting beat deep… Gotta keep those WRs in front of ya..

  45. fingers Says:

Palmers arm and Janos leg… Key…IMO…

  46. TerrapinRaider Says:

This offensive coaching staff is horrible. Just be prepared for more pathetic playcalling that will underutilize TJ & Reece (and any other offensive player you can think of). Its only when Palmer is calling the plays at the line that we begin to move the ball.

Its a damn shame its taken this long for TJ to see the field.

Please fire Krappy asap – promote Saunders if he wants the job. Krappy was given one of the best offenses in the league and has turned it into trash (when he calls the plays). Only now is he starting to get that you have to mix up the blocking schemes with Power and it took how many games for him to figure that out?

  47. mcthompso Says:

Prediction as to when the commentators first mention Marcel Reece being a WR in college? I’m going first Raiders possession—maybe even pregame keys to victory. EVERY week that he gets a touch, the commentators mention it–its their only go to.

Might not need as huge of a statistical game from 45 today as everyone thinks, but will definitely need him to make plays, especially on 3rd down. Everyone needs to show up to win this game.

What scares me the most is Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin. Raiders will probably try to stack the box as much as possible to not let a repeat of last week occur. Just hope they don’t get burned over the top by 82, or picked apart with 81.

Interested in this game. Attainable game as long as thoughtless mistakes are not made. Have a feeling our beloved silver and black will come out with some fire.

  48. TerrapinRaider Says:

Missing DMC would be a major deal, but you’ve seen how Krappy has reduced him to arena league. So now it won’t even matter. Still, Knapp’s history inspires no confidence in his utilization of TJ & Reece for this game. Expect more of the same. Krappy is incapable of adapting, imagining, or scheming to put his players in the best position to win games.

  49. TerrapinRaider Says:

What kills me about Krappy is he’s so damn narrow-minded. He would keep force feeding the ball to DMC and Moore all damn game and ignore all the other talent he has out there. That a crappy OC for you.

I have a feeling that Reece will be too much of a go to for Knapp today. The formula just won’t be right, I feel. I think the secret is out on Reece with DMC and Goodson out. Kinda thinking its going to be a force feed the ball to Reece too much, and not a spread it around enough kind of thing.

I’m excited to see the opportunity, but just have a bad feeling that the balance needed for him to be effective won’t be there.

  51. Just Fire Baby Says:

I worry more about Taiwan’s inability to break tackles against #1’s than fumbles.

In regular seasons over the past two years, he rarely ever has done so.

Last week, he faced two defenders. One body-slammed him, the other forced a fumble.

    Yikes!!!

  52. Just Fire Baby Says:

Taiwan didn’t see the field much last year either, and McFadden was hurt right at the same point in the season.

It ain’t the two staffs not knowing what they are doing, he just isn’t that good.

  53. Just Fire Baby Says:

Marcel Reece is on pace for a career year. Averaging more yards per game than any point in his career.

In a contract year no less.

Knapp is making him a lot of money.

  67. TerrapinRaider Says:

JFB – Take off the rose colored glasses man. Last year we had DMC, MBush and TJ and Reece. DMC & Bush were the main backs, 1-2 punch. It was TJs rookie year. When DMC went down Bush carried he rock and TJ got snaps to mix it up, same 1-2 punch, but Reece was in there as well.

Reece was more of a feature in Hue’s scheme than he is now under Knapp. Hue brilliantly used Reece to create mismatches all over the field.

  68. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

Raiders should just drop the city from there name and call themselves “The Raiders”. I don’t like it, but it does seem like L.A. is the most logical choice to get a new stadium.

  69. TerrapinRaider Says:

Even when DMC was healthy I believe TJ would get a carry here and there. But the way DMC was running last year, you didn’t want to take too many away from him. Hue knew how to maximize players. Knappy does not which is why we are all so frustrated watching.

  70. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

  71. JONGRUDEN2013 Says:

First downs? He is tied with last year already.

Carries yes, Marcell had a whole 17 carries last year, less than 2 a game for 9 yards a game. He might pass that up as well in the next couple weeks.

    ========================================

Interesting story. We’ll know in a year or two. And at the risk of flaming everyone here: TPTB in Oakland promised Al a new stadium 17 years ago, have done exactly d1ck since then. Mark specifically said last January he needed a new stadium, whether in Oakland or somewhere else, which was a HUGE shot across Oakland’s bow. If Oakland still can’t get its act together, then Mark cannot be blamed for taking them money AEG and/or Ed Roski are floating around (and I think a Roski deal is much more likely than AEG). C’est la vie.

Cork hasnt a clue about relocation laws, ot anything else for that matter,..that old fool just hangs out in Alameda for the free food they give “journalists”.

You can’t compete playing in an inferior stadium, year in and year out.

Doesn’t matter the location, Dallas plays out in the middle of nowhere, same with the Redskins.

But those places hold 85+ plus, and can get away with charging $250+ a ticket, because of all the state of the art amenities.

Time is ticking, and it is 110% on the city of Oakland to do this.

Duck… I think Cork reported just this week that all NFL teams had to declare by January if they intend to relocate… And i agree… If Mark can’t get a deal in The Bay Area then I couldn’t blame him either …

    ================================================

It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see the Chargers take the AEG deal now that it’s going forward. It’s even BARELY conceivable that, if Mark wants to go sooner rather than later, he cuts a deal with Oakland to get out of the lease a year early and move to LA. We could take the Coliseum downtown and the Chargers could take the Rose Bowl while our respective stadiums are being built (Farmer’s Field for the Chargers, Industry for us).

  92. RaiderDuck Says:

Also, it’s being reported that California officials are trying to interest the Panthers in moving, but Richardson’s telling them to get lost.

  93. JONGRUDEN2013 Says:

Duck,..come on man,..being reported?…lol…just say it, you are watching GameDay and believe everything ESPN tells you.

  94. fingers Says:

I just did a search and The NFL did ask teams to declare intent to relocate between January and Feb 15th… Well see…

I believe Palmers gonna put some points up… Hopefully one of the RBs will put up a Td as well …

  100. fingers Says:

Maybe even a TE Td…..gonna have to spread it around today…

  101. Plunketthead Says:

I bet nothing gets built and Mark will have to stay where he is.

  103. RaiderDuck Says:

I wonder if we’ll see Bergs or Willie Smith at RT, and how much will Curry play?

  104. fingers Says:

Plunk… True… Who knows at this point… It’s pretty much outta our hands anyway… I’m a homer ( Bay Area native).. And I’d hate to see them go again….

  105. VanHeathen30 Says:

Defending Kanpps use of Reece is pointless…
SO WHAT if he’s getting used more?
1 carry a game and 2 catches a game (last season) are NOT going to save this offense. He finally got some action last week after being ignored for most of the 1st half of the season…I hope he ‘OPENS UP’ Marcel’s portion of the playbook and it works, but am leery that it will work out so well…hoping i’m wrong.

  106. fingers Says:

Bergs can’t be any worse than smith has been…

  107. Just Fire Baby Says:

He finally got some action last week after being ignored for most of the 1st half of the season

    **************************

Look, I am not here to defend Knapp or attack you, but this nonsense must end.

Last year Reece averaged 25 yards a game. 2010, 23 yards a game.

Not even counting last weeks game, he was averaging 26 yards a game in 2012. Now it is up to 34 p/g.

He is being used basically the same, if not more now.

morilla Says: I don’t buy that for a second. A owner would never divulge such information to some random fan. Ever.===================================================

I don’t buy that, either, but for a better reason. Norco said it.

    Good Morning Raider Fans!!!

  110. JONGRUDEN2013 Says:

In the Ravens locker room Ray Lewis and John Harbaugh will be screaming and yelling and the place will be rockin getting pumped for the game,..in the Raiders,..well,..DA and Palmer might try and muster up some stupid thing to say like, lets watch the false starts, lets try and get off the field on third down,..but no players will hear it, all with head phones on and tweeting,..the final score will reflect that. Im real.

  111. Just Fire Baby Says:

I wonder if we’ll see Bergs or Willie Smith at RT, and how much will Curry play?

    *************************

I think you will see both at RT, Smith the start, Bergs shortly after, and the best performer will get the 2nd half.

Curry, will be covering kickoffs and in on goalline situations.

My two cents, we shall see.

  112. VanHeathen30 Says:

Yeah…but what are you expecting out of 26 yds a game?
Not that those numbers wouldn’t have been MORE than the rest of the Offense ran the ball last week…
I’m bent w/ Knapp cause marcel SHOULD have about 10 touches a week between the ground and air…
Don’t want ot argue with you either Vegas.
    Just frustrated as f a u k with this team…
Like i said, I hope marcel BLOWS UP today and helps us get a W…

I was a little confused about the release of Pat lee.
After watching some film and seeing his responsibilty in the Doug Martin big runs I can see why they are making an example of him. If D. Martin is even some what contained last sunday the Raiders would likely be 4-4.

If they are blaming Lee for the Martin runs then they are refusing to acknowledge what is right in front of their face. It’s McClain. The guy is a freaking slug and a liability. Why can’t they see this?

Look at the tape again (if u can stomach it) and McCLAIN kind of goes up to our lineman and puts his hands on his back as if to be nudging him and then Martin Martin breaks thru and McClain spins around and it’s “bye bye”.

    ***********************************

    I can agree with this.

He should have been used more in 2010, 2011 and now 2012.

But at least we are using him more now than last season, a small step in the right direction.

  118. Tezooo Says:

Game day baby! I’m hopping this is one of thoes game the Raiders pull one of these WTF wins over a good team.
    GO RAIDERS!!!

  119. Just Fire Baby Says:

Interesting that on the road we are only 7.5 underdogs.

That would mean if we were playing in Oakland, we would be 1.5 or 2 point underdogs.

Seems like Vegas thinks this game will be close, closer than the masses think.

Baltimore is really, really banged up, worse than us probably.

  120. DJ Johnny Says:

You guys may not want to believe Norco Bob but it is Cork who says when asked directly “yes” he thinks it’s gonna happen.

I don’t know. I’m for anything that helps make us a winner again.

I’d prefer the team could stay in Oakland and win and have a new stadium like they deserve, but i don’t see any movement. Maybe u guys see something since you’re out there.

I hope for the loyal fans out in Oakland they can get it done.

  121. fingers Says:

Lol… I’ve already pulled McClains name off my 55 jersey…. It’s goes with Moss and Russels jerseys….

  122. Albert Bigelow Paine Says:

The Panthers already want renovations on their stadium and it was built in 1996. The Raiders are playing in a 46 year old stadium.

  123. Just Fire Baby Says:

I am wearing my #55 as we speak.

  124. fingers Says:

What the “experts” all said would happen has. DMAC lasted 8 games even when he was trying to avoid injury by stepping out of bounds etc.

His lower legs (ankles, feet) are just prone to injury.

    3.1 ypc ?

He was starting to come around a bit though.

I’m just sick and tired of DMAC. He’s a potential gamebreaker but i’m sick of waiting for him to come around.

  133. VanHeathen30 Says:

On the stadium issue..the problem is that Oakland is broke…and even though there are a legion of raider fans in the city proper…a large percentage of the fans buying tickets on Sundays, live in the surrounding communities of Nor Cal, therefore they can’t even vote on any Bond measure or whatnot…
If they made it an isue for Alameda County votersm which are the ones who built the Coliseum back in the 60’s..there might be a chance. But waiting for Oakland to get things in order and present a proposal is a long shot…
