Branch among Raiders inactives

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, November 18th, 2012 at 11:37 am in Oakland Raiders.

Strong safety Tyvon Branch, who has started 57 consecutive games for the Raiders, will be inactive against the Saints Sunday with a neck injury.

Branch worked out on the field with trainers before the game, went back inside, and a short time later was declared inactive. Also inactive is wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, out with a hamstring injury.

Correction: DHB is active and Willie Smith is inactive.

Mike Mitchell will get his first start in the base defense in place of Branch.

Other Raiders inactives included quarterback Terrelle Pryor, guard Lucas Nix, defensive tackle Richard Seymour, running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson.

Cam Newton is 6/19 today against the Bucs.
Palmer threw for over 400 yards. Where is Mistic at?
    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Cam Newton hasn’t turned the ball over and is WINNING the game. Don’t need to tell you Palmer’s story.

  • Raiders for life

Well, the Raiders can still go 10-6

  • RaidersAllday_LtsGeTit

Panthers also didnt trade a 1 and 2 away in a rebuild season

Looks the Falcons are playing the exact same game they played against the Raiders. 3 first half INTs for Ryan.
    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Try 3 first QUARTER INTs for Ryan. He’s the biggest fraud in the league. You will see the light by the end of the season.

  • realtruraider

J.Russ is makin a comeback ya’ll, lol, via fake twitter account

  • realtruraider

    Yep, 8-1 = fraud, lollol

  • Just Fire Baby

Im sure he is talkin about the game in preseason when he fumbled like 3 times on 3 carries

    *****************************

Yes the game that he played the week after being helped off the practice field on a stretcher.

And it was only 2 fumbles, and he hasn’t fumbled since.

    AGENDA’S!!!!!!!

  • Just Fire Baby

    Matt Ryan = MVP

  • jackasspuria

    Realtruraider

While I will not go as far as calling Matt Ryan a fraud like RaiderDebo did, it won’t matter what team’s record is when they get the playoffs.

What I mean by that is if the Falcons head into the playoffs say 15-1 and don’t get to the Super Bowl and win that coveted title, season is a failure.

Only 1 team really wins in the end. The other 31 are the losers.

  • RaidersAllday_LtsGeTit

Honeslty I wouldnt mind trying JRUSS out at LT or TE in the jumbo package. Goaline TE

  • RaiderDebo

Foles is getting his receivers killed today.

  • realtruraider

AGENDAS!!! WHAT? Im just tellin homeboy what dude was talkin about. However he does have a history of fumbles, he never saw the field last year because of it, sound familiar?

The only way that would work is if the QB was throwing cooked hams instead of footballs.

  • MiamiRaider78

Bruce Campbell at DT would have been a nice experiment to try out.

That is the sign of a great QB, when your expectations are Super Bowl or bust.

Compared to us, when 8-8 deserves a downtown parade.

  • RAIDERMAN99

Wonder if Taiwan Jones gets any carries today?
    ==============================================
Why would Krappy want to do that ?

    He might fumble.

Since we’re in the midst of a SB run, we can’t risk that.

Can’t activate TP and run a wildcat play or two for the same reason.

Have to stick with what is working.

No reason to derail the SB Express.

Plug him in at MLB and we’re set?

  • RaidersAllday_LtsGeTit

Taiwan JOnes might be tried out at Cornerback.

THey better give the guy at least 100 touches b4 trying anything like that.

Why not Tell pryor to go line up and run some routes. Could use his azzz in the redzone.

Matt Ryan may be surrounded with the best supporting cast in history. I guarantee you that if the backup went in, there wouldn’t be a dropoff. Hell, they might even win a playoff game. There’s a reason a left tackle and a defensive end went before him in the draft. Tom Dimitroff is the MVP of the Falcons post-Vick.

  • Plunketthead

Chad Henne = wave of the future, over 350 yards passing and 4 TDs. Can you say goodbye Blaine

    ******************************

Newton has done nothing and their defense scored half their points.

And if today is antyhing like the rest of the season, they will blow it at the end and do nothing offensively down the stretch.

Mike Vick’s concussion may be a blessing in disguise for him. Now the Eagles HAVE to play Nick Foles. Foles could be the reason Vick comes back as the starter in 2013.

Thought the same thing a couple of weeks ago before getting to see Foles on the field. Now its clear Eagles’ problem had very little to do with Vick and that he gives them their only chance of winning. We’ll just have to see.

  • KRAWFDADD

The Raiders downfall was Rich Gannon’s injuries imo…..havent had a competent Qb since then.Carson lights it up he can fling it all over the field, but its thecrucial turnovers and field generalship that he lacks.

  • MaddenRaiderisadouchebag

Why we can’t get ever get rid of Sebass…see Mason Crosby

  • Just Fire Baby

Vick is due $16.5 million dollars if he is on the roster the first day of camp.

    He will not be there.

  • jackasspuria

    KRAWFDADD

Gannon used to rip receivers, tight ends, running backs, etc. when they ran the wrong route. Gannon would yell at the in huddle on sidelines. Saw it live on the field and on TV.

And, after getting verbally abused, Gannon’s teammates responded and corrected the mistakes. And once the errors were amended, the Raiders offense was clicking after the hiccups.

It also helped Gannon had Gruden on the sideline to reinforce the verbal abuse.

Palmer, at times, has verbally lashed out at teammates on field and sidelines. Need to see more of that from Palmer.

  • Just Fire Baby

And Vick’s concussion was very worrisome, as they reported before kickoff he did nothing but sleep all week and got worse as the week went along.

He probably won’t play the rest of the year, and it will be a mutual decision by all parties.

  • DJ Johnny

    Fing Brandon Weeden…

Browns had a chance to beat those jerks from Dallas and freakin Weeden chokes it away.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

My point exactly. This means they’ll get a good enough look at Foles to determine he isn’t the answer and how underappreciated Vick is. We’ll just have to see.

  • http://raiders.com Albert Bigelow Paine

I should have started Palmer over Aaron Rodgers in FF this week.
