End 3rd qtr: Saints 35, Raiders 10

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, November 18th, 2012 at 3:35 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The Saints scored on a 27-yard run by Mark Ingram and a 15-yard pass from Drew Brees to Lance Moore, with the Raiders countering with a 40-yard Sebastian Janikowski field goal.

For the season, the Raiders have been outscored 123-34 in the third quarter.

New Orleans built on the momentum it had on Brees’ late 38-yard touchdown pass in the first half as Traveris Cadet returned the opening second-half kickoff 75 yards immediately preceding Ingram’s touchdown run. New Orleans had a touchdown within 17 seconds of the thrird quarter.

oakalnd opens the fourth quarter with a fourth-and-1 at the New Orleans 40. Marcel Reece has 96 yards on 17 carries.

The other common denominator besides Knapp for DA and Kiffin is that frikkin’ visor cap. DA should toss the ‘Lane Kiffin Beanie’ ASAP and see if Knapp improves.

This is the BIGTIME and to coach the Oakland Raiders and get the credit for turning them around is HUGE on your resume.

    *******************************

Then why did Steve Sarkisian and Sean Payton laugh in our face when given the opportunity to do so?

Because coaching the Huskies and Saints is a better job.

I don’t think Vegas aka JFB believes half the crap he posts here. I think he enjoys reading your reactions.

Jacoby Jones. Yet another special teams score. We used to have a Jacoby that did that. Now we just have a retarded special teams coach named pollard and a bunch of useless pieces of crap that couldn’t earn a scholarship at Penn State. And yea, I’m aware of the irony.

  • manassamauler

Schedule is tougher this year. Mcfadden should be traded after season. Reese is better and no doubt more durable at 6 2″ 240. rebuild time. question is where do the Raiders start with their 1st round pick? OLB? CB, QB maybe. damn we’re looking at 3 4-12 seasons coming up

Has nothing to do with Al, and more to do with the teams playoff drought and major limbo status as far as location on where they will be playing in the future.

    Pollard is O-line coach.

Steve Hoffman is special teams coach.

How Raiders let John Fassel walk away is beyond me.

The only caulties this off season will be that of the offensive/defensive coordinators.

Sean Payton was talked out of this job. He wondered aloud if he was worthy of this job. Sarkisian never thought he fit at the NFL level. I think Payton would take this job if given the chance…….I was in the office when he was there to do the interview. He wanted this job bad…….so stop lying!

Look at Jacoby Jones blow past Taiwan on that return highlight.

Wasn’t even a close race, and the guy with the ball is supposed to be slowed down because of carrying it.

  • eastoaklandraider

lefty you have spoken down on Hue on a few occasions while talking up DA, I dont feel Hue is the greatest coach ever but we wont get to find out how good he could have been here. Its very frustating to see a coach get our org going in the right direction only to see him fired then the org go back to what it was before his arrival.

-Raiders WAS the wost coaching job, but not anymore.
-Knapp sucks and that’s a fact. His teams had/ have issues scoring. You can’t blame the talent on 4 different teams.
-this tream gor worse this year.

  • Just Fire Baby

Wow Priest, so 6 years ago you were interviewing the brightest young coach in the game, and now you are working on about 4 years of debating with me on a message board.

    You need a better agent.

lol palmer.. love ur heart man. I wish though

Hey Palmer. You have to actually WIN games to make the playoffs.
    >>>>

Not too many QB’s can win games with young receivers and a defense giving up nearly 40 points a game.

He didn’t look that sharp today, but he is STILL the least of our problems. The people saying he is doesn’t know football.

“One particularly greasy tidbit of gossip of interest to Oakland Raiders fans will be Peyton’s recalling of his 2005 interview with Al Davis for the Raiders’ head coaching job. In his book, Peyton reveals that Al Davis wined and dined him with cold McDonald’s cheeseburgers and KFC coleslaw.”

stewart didnt look bad either on that one play he had when he hurdled the defender and kept his balance and picked up some extra yards. I didnt even know that was the kid from Stanford, cant believe he didnt get drafted he had some good seasons for Stanford.

  • http://raiders.com Albert Bigelow Paine

“You like cheeseburgers?” Al Davis is quoted as asking, reportedly wearing a black leisure sweatsuit.

So some hapless assistant was sent on a McDonald’s run, with Al Davis demanding cole slaw as well. Give Mr. Davis credit for avoiding red meat at his age.

remember all of the in reggie we trust fans after week 3 or 4 saying burris and wheeler could both go to the probowl? lol , burris has hit the rookie wall, but wait the college season isnt over yet..hmm..maybe he just not as good as we hoped.wheeler plays hard but is just average.but on our defense average is special

  • Just Fire Baby

I am not a Curry fan by any means, but he needs to replace Burris pronto.

“The Dollar Menu meal did not even scare Sean Peyton away. He reveals that he did actually accept the Raiders head coaching job at that interview.

But Peyton was talked into remaining on with the Dallas Cowboys, after a $500,000 raise and a promotion to assistant head coach to Bill Parcells.”

East, once again get your facts straight.Tom Cable was the one who brought this team from a 5 win team to an 8 win team, not Hue Jackson. And I have never talked ‘up’ Allen.I’ve always said he deserves more than 1/2 of a season to see what he can do.I don’t believe in firing coaches after 1 season, whether it is Jackson or Allen but I understand why Jackson was let go.New GMs always bring in their guys. With all that being said,I still believe HJ wasn’t a good HC.

  • morilla

Why are people still talking about HCs? You just saw that Marc said the group is here next year.

Can we focus on the trash heap of players we have? Jeez.

  • DJ Johnny

    474,

I’ve been a card carrying Palmer fan all along. I liked him alot when he was with Cincy.

My comment was more directed at the team in general.

Palmer is no absolved for some of the stalled drives and a few of the crucial int’s though.

The whole team is at fault.

You are wrong Lefty, before Hue got here the Raiders were 5-11 and still floundering under Cable, when Hue took over the O the very next year with basicaly the same talent the O took a major step up, then Cable gets the hook and Hue proceeds to go 8-8 without Cable, get it right old man.

    ——————————–

I think so, except the Browns have been highly competitive in just about every one of their losses this year.

But I think on a long-term basis, yes, the Raiders are more or less on par with the Browns.

  • Priesttj12

303 No one is saying the GM should be fired, I just don’t want to see this team lose the way they’re losing. They are not even competitive……….it’s as if they shouldn’t be on the field.

There is a happy medium here, and it is play to your potential and let the chips fall where they may. That is NOT happening at all. A 500 record would be acceptable to meI would have no problem with it. But we look like an expansion team or worse.

  • nycraider

Gotta love mike mitchell, talks smack on friday night about graham. graham catches first td pass today, mitchell then bites on route and gets beat for the game changer td at end of first half. he comes out after halftime and misses tackle on ingram who goes 25 yds for td. after game hes crying because he just wants to win. maybe he should apoligize to teammates for failing today. or better yet, shut up until you actually contribute like a 2nd round draft pick is supposed too.
