Coaches matter. remember cassel played well in NE under a great coach and bombed in KC with lousy coaches. Flynn did great in GB under great coaching/schemes, now he sux.

Raiders offense top 10 under good coaching, same guys now blow with bad coaches/schemes.

Were you on vacation that MONTH?
Hue went in FRONT OF CAMERA, and flapped his lips, to where everyone who heard it immediately knew he just signed his own pink slip.
Immediately.
Of course Reggie went elsewhere.
Last thing he or any new GM needs is a mouthy primadonna HC who just stated to the WORLD THAT HE’S EARNED THE RIGHT TO BE HC AND TO MAKE DECISIONS REGARDING THE ORGANIZATION.

He “earned the right”???

And a new GM should keep that guy, who just made it clear he doesn’t want to be told what to do, that he’s “earned the right” to make his own decisions???

Hue became a joke. A laughingstock.
But memories are short.
Feel free to go look it up. Go to any Raider board, and there are threads after threads of Hue opening mouth/inserting foot
======================
And alot of us think he did earn the right,he worked his a$$,was original,competed and came up short.I heard what he said.Big fkn deal.He deserved another year.

=========================================
That’s why everyone is entitled to an opinion.

he didn’t work his a$$ off. He spent more time polishing his head, and his toe nails, than improving the team.
This same primadonna sat DHB, and lied on why he did. Sat others, and caught lying about that as well.
Trades he made were suspect.
Across the NFL, much less Raider fan, noticed his swelled head, and primadonna comments.
Guess you just give everyone a pass, regardless of what they do

I am laughing so hard at this. I wanna thank you for this laugh and im a hue jackson fan but I thought and said at the time . The GM has the right to get his guy. I still believe we all are oever reacting on this season. I still believe the oakland raiders will be one of the top 5 teams in a couple years. Reggie and dennis took the job and im glad they did. How many would have , how many were willing? GO raiders and Happy Holidays to everyone on here.

I was totally kidding. Of the vast majority of seriously deranged and literally disabled posters in here you are on the other end of the spectrum. Irony lost….

This is obviously one of the smarter commentators in here….

More stuff from Joe Reedy:

BENGALS (5-5) VS. RAIDERS (3-7)

Kickoff: 1 p.m. Sunday; Paul Brown Stadium

TV: CBS with Bill Macatee and Steve Tasker. If the game is not sold out by 1 p.m. on Thursday, it will be blacked out in Cincinnati, Dayton and Lexington, Ky. The Bengals ticket office will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today or by calling 866-621-8383.

Series: Raiders lead 20-8 but Bengals lead 7-6 in games in Cincinnati.

Bengals league rankings: Offense is 15th (20th rushing, 10th passing); Defense is 17th (18th rushing, 15th passing).

Raiders league rankings: Offense is 9th (31st rushing, 6th passing); Defense is 24th (23rd rushing, 24th passing).

RAIDERS TO WATCH

QB Carson Palmer: The former Bengal has had at least 200 yards passing as a Raider in 16 straight games, which is a franchise record. He has also passed for 300 yards or more in three straight games for the first time in his career, including 312 in last Sunday’s loss to New Orleans.

TE Brandon Myers: Has emerged as a favorite target of Palmer. The fourth-year player leads the team with 50 catches for 544 yards. Myers is averaging 11.1 yards per reception and has posted five catches of 20 yards or more.

S Tyvon Branch: Leads the team in tackles with 109 and has one interception.

KEY NUMBER

41: Pass plays of 20 yards or more by Oakland, which is tied for third in the league. Indianapolis has 45 and Denver 44. Of those 41 plays, six have gone for touchdowns.

CONNECTIONS

Former Bengals: Palmer was a 2003 first-round draft selection (first overall pick) and played for the Bengals from 2003-10.

Local: S Mike Mitchell is from Fort Thomas, Ky. (Highlands High School) and played at Ohio University

Others of note: QB Terrelle Pryor played at Ohio State. … Tight ends coach Mark Hutson coached at Murray State from 1993-97.

Mistic1 Tha Supavillain Says:

if tim tebow got a shot,

there is no justification for not giving pryor his shot
=============================================

Yeah, but those are completely different circumstances. Denver moved up in the draft to take Teblows. They paid a lot for him and Dungver fan wanted to see what he could do. We didn't pay a lot for Pryor. Playing in front of Teblows was Orton, who was a journeyman Q (at best) who came along as a throw in for the Jay Cutler deal. Orton played decently, but the Buncos were not winning. So fans, (primarily fundamental Christian fans) wanted to see what Teblows could do. Elway, Fox and co. knew he was not an NFL caliber player and put him in just to shut the fans up. Well, the rest is NFL history.

That is different from here. Here, we paid A LOT for an overall number one who is the undisputed starter. The starter has played well. There is little if anything to gain from benching Palmer, who we paid a lst and a 2nd for, and putting in a guy just to see what he can do to cater to a small group of seemingly foolish fans. (No offense). As I said, say Pryor plays poorly, well, you probably rushed him in there too soon and might have ruined the player. Let's say Pryor plays lights out, well you just gutted a player you paid a lst and a 2nd for, now what do you do with him? Bench him? Trade him for a 7th rounder? Have a HUGE QB controversy? Not a lot of upside in this "play Pryor" scenario. More bad things can happen than good.
