The Raiders scored on a 55-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski and a 20-yard pass from Carson Palmer to Denarius Moore to outscore the Bengals 10-0 in a quarter during which they had been outscored 123-34 coming into the game.
The Raiders have the ball at the 50 to open the quarter with a real chance to re-enter a game that looked hopelessly lost. Oakland’s defense has harassed Andy Dalton into a succession of three-and-outs, the last one coming on a sack by Matt Shaughnessy.

Gregg Knapp should be fired for stubborness and DA should be fined for supervisiing it. Everyone who pulls for the Raiders knows the O-Line is horrible. The one QB who could actually (make something out of the 75% of the time nothing) we have on offense is dressed in street clothes every freakin Sunday.

How can anybody really think all of their draft picks are terrible? The Bucs were like 2-14 last year, they sucked! New coach, new attitude, and for a while had the top offense in the league. Notice the type odd coach they have? A real tough azz like bellick, like harbaugh, like Tomlin,. Its 100% coaxbing that makes you respectable, players just put you over the top.

The Bengals kept 7 to 8 in the box most of the game, to help pressure the QB into his usual mistakes aka int’s. I’m not sure why slants were’nt called to take advantage of the middle being open. The Bengal safeties were almost always playing on or near the line of scrimmage.

Fatal mistake for Mark Davis to come out and say that. Ownership should be in the background, till the end of the season. Now Davis is under more scrutiny to let an inexperienced guy go, and look for somebody that would be under more pressure to perform. The guy makes far to many mistakes in crunch time. The raiders would be wise to look at TP the remainder of the season and if he shows promise trade CP for a pick or 2. If TP looks like he can’t play, draft a QB or sign a quality FA.

I could never figure, how a guy who has been a player in the league, would not have thought to get coaches who were former players like Ray Horton, or Dennis Thurman in as hires – or at least look to Ted Cottrell and other more experienced people. I think the process was very fast, McKenzie was inexperienced, and went with a lot of people who had to learn on the fly, and a horrific O.C.
Sprnkle in a bad year by McFadden, injuries to Ford, and other players, no draft picks and no key FAs. And voila! Disaster.

Wholesale changes needed to be made on defense last year, but the with the salary cap being what it was and lack of draft picks, the agony had to be prolonged another year.
This offseason there will be no excuses. Need a significant influx of talent on defense.
