the major pieces we’ve lost are Michael Bush Wimbley and Jacoby Ford, gaining major pieces Miles Burris and Phillip Wheeler. Some players have declined (Barnes, Seymour, Kelly) but others have improved (CP, Myers, DHB). The point is the talent isn’t so much less this year that we shouldn’t be competing and worse yet not showing any progress therefore we should fire the coach as he’s not improving the play or motivating the troops

mcfadden2o you said carter would be still looking for a job which of course is false, plenty of teams were monitoring him

you also say wheeler is from a bottom 5 indy and burris is a 5th round pick but are you going to tell me they aren’t better lb’s than wimbley and curry were last year?

then you go onto say bartell was out all last year, you think him and huff aren’t better cb’s than routt and cJ?

you argue but you can’t back up your points

Teams monitor players all the time but that does not mean they are ultra talented or anything , if some one is really good that guy doesn’t sit at home into the season waiting for a job?? Get my point? I admit CBS are better than last year , but you can’t deny the DLine is worse , so no pass rush = easy TDs for opposing CBS no matter who you have playing CBs

Aside from Peyton Manning, the Division is still horrible and DA can’t even stay in games with them.

Showing progress? What progress did last years team showed ? Yes it could put up more points , but my case is with that O how many teams did we beat down The stretch when we really needed to win ? We went down 34-0 in consecutive weeks before scoring our first points for crying out loud

Cleveland held the mighty Superchargers to 6 points. and the Qu33fs are the only team we didn’t beat by a FG, even though we needed one just to keep it out of reach.

The best thing this staff has done so far is trade Bruce Campbell and release Aaron Curry.

Curry was the worst defensive player I ever seen wear Silver and Black.

And how we landed even an NFL backup for CAmpbell is mind-blowing to me.

  • guest123

Question for Reggie at Friday’s presser:

What confidence do you have in the coaching staff after a string of 4 straight losses averaging over 42 points a game?

….follow up Q: If the losing streak extends to 9 games to finish 3-13, are you ready then to own up to your mistake hire?

  • mcfadden20.

Den is freaking good , they have beast pass rush, we have average Tackles to protect and average receivers running route, they have P manning and we have DTs trying to rush the passer from outside

I think Reggie and DA learned an invaluable lesson this season; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Wylie, Wiz and Saunders could have helped Knapp work with last year’s play book, which meant we could have just paid Satele and focused on improving the defense until we had enough cap room to make a switch to the ZBS next year.

Instead, they tried to alter everything at once, which, as we all know from the defense, doesn’t make for a good product on the field. I put the blame on Reggie; someone as deliberate as him should have known better.

I know that DA was allowed to make his own staff, but Reggie could have played it publicly as Allen’s choice for a smooth transition under HIS new o-coordinator, Knapp, and no one would have been the wiser.

  • DMAC

“We got to look at any options,” Allen said. “Again, we’re all accountable to getting this thing corrected and getting it done right. Players and coaches, we’ve all got to be held accountable. We’ve got a standard that we uphold ourselves to and we haven’t lived up to that standard yet.”
    ========

    Accountability????
    Then fire yourself and Knappy!!!!!
Why should we bring him back, when Hue got canned his 1st time around at 8-8?
The team doesn’t even have an identity!!

  • mcfadden20.

It doesn’t matter how we beat the bad teams , we took care of them this year just like last year , it’s not like we crushed bad teams last year either, but just telling you guys better O or whatever we ain’t good enough to beat good teams

We don’t know if not for some strange injury happening to our Long snapper we might have beaten them, but it’s the same SD , we lost in week 17, same KC team we barely beat in week 16 with playoffs on line lol

We have been 3-8 (or worse), at one point in time, in 6 of the last 9 years.

Do Clipper fans even get excited when they go 41-41 and miss the playoffs?

    Man this organziation stinks!!!!

  • raiderlization

I realize Reggie wants his guy but maybe Mark needs a Guy with experience and expertise in knowing his job at this level enough to rebuild. You dont go to a rookie to rebuild an organization. Too many attitudes to adjust and a degree of hope! Where as hiring someone with a Back Bone puts under achievers on notice. We need someone with a chip on his shoulder and a staff and his plans! Not a QB Coach /Failed OC with an idea of how someone else does it! You have to know yourself! #65 came with him and so what? he has shown nothing as well but the inability to block! As far as Im concerned Knapp is a Snake oil Salesman as much as he is a OC!What can we do with a line that cant block with a QB like Lienert? Right Side Guard and Tackle is a joke!If you are gonna fix it it wont be done with this group of coaches. I know its old now but you got to get it right!

  • guest123

Doesn’t surprise to see the Raiders players take cheap shots in the second half. It’s a telltale sign the coaching staff has lost the lockerroom. The gameplan goes south and then tempers flare and everything turns to garbage. There’s no leadership on the field or on the sidelines. Just a bunch of shellshocked overpaid overstroked egos who can’t face the truth. They aren’t good enough, can’t be coached to be good enough and they never will be. They are a group of players and coaches that the organization will scuttle and start over with players and coaches who one day will be good enough. But the team you see out there on Sunday (as of now) is good for sheet.

If we can beat KC, Cleveland and Carolina, we will have beaten every team with the same or worse record, and lost to every team with a better record (San Diego still in doubt).

The only thing I can think of is that the Browns came off of an emotional win last week against Pittsburg! Telltale sign of how we overvalued our “stud” players is Routt bolting for KC in free agency after we cut him loose, and now a half season later he’s out of pro football.

I think a high number of players suiting up this weekend will be out of football next year. Not just the older guys either.

  • Just Fire Baby

We traded multiple picks for Curry, who gave us a zilllion penalties, and who is now being overlooked for by PS players, around the league.

Terrible trade. Don’t know who did it, but they blew it.

Unlike some guys in here (Mistic), I always want the Raiders to win. But it is getting harder to root for this team. I want them to beat the Browns, but if they don’t it’s not so bad either since that helps their draft position.

  • guest123

At the time we traded for Curry, he was considered a low risk trade for a once heralded top 4 overall draft pick. It’s been the “Raider way” to turnover failed prospects and turn them back to studs. At least it was this way WHEN WE HAD GOOD COACHES. We should avoid these type of upside trades unless we get a marquee coach who knows what he’s doing.
