McFadden back at practice

Running back Darren McFadden returned to practice today for the first time in more than three weeks.
He missed the past three-plus weeks with a high-ankle sprain that he suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaeers. Backup Mike Goodson also suffered a similar injury in the same game, and he returned to practice today, as well.
If nothing else, it’s a start for McFadden as he attempts to make it back on the field for a game again.
Regular fullback Marcel Reece started in place of McFadden the past three games and amassed 225 yards (4.8-yard average). McFadden averaged only 3.3 yards in the eight games he played before his injury.
Naturally, McFadden remains the starter if he’s healthy enough to play. Goodson likely will reclaim his No. 2 spot, as well, with Reece moving back to fullback.
However, it’s likely that Reece will become more of a focal point of the offense in light of his solid showing as a runner and receiver the past three games.
Reece now is Oakland’s most-productive offensive player, with 672 yards rushing and receiving.

– In other news, defensive tackle Richard Seymour and defensive end Jack Crawford are not practicing today.
Seymour has missed the past three games with hamstring injury. Crawford has been hobbled of late by a sore toe.

– The Raiders signed linebacker Jerrell Harris to their practice squad. He is an undrafted free agent out of Alabama.
Harris takes the spot created by the signing of linebacker Kaelin Burnett to the 53-man roster.

He’s a rb, itse just this coaching staff is horrible and dont know how to use any player. Ausberry, Dmac, Dr moore, jones, Dhb, palmer, all look like sht under this coaching staff, it took them til week 10 to finally start playing reece. Smh Im telling you these guys don’t know what the hell they’re doing or how to maximize on the talent they do have. I dont doubt any players skills under these clowns watch because they’re clueless.

“Continuity” is code for mediocrity or worse if you were to poll the GM’s and owners of SB caliber teams. Ask Jerry Jones what he’d do with a fresh rookie coach coming off a 3-13 season? Go ask Bob Kraft. See how much they value continuity. That’s nothing more than a position that you don’t want to admit you suck worse than you do. Definition of insanity is doing the same chit over and over again and expecting different results. continuity and doing the same thing over and over kinda ring the same, dontcha think?

Like i have always maintained show me the qb that turns the ball over and ill find you the losing team

    *******

Yeah, that list proves your point right? Notice Matt Ryan is 2nd most INT’s and yet has a 10-1 record.

Funny you say that to defend Palmer and his INT sealed the game and let Ryan off the hook! LOL!
    ===========

    ???????

I said that at least 5 of the guys listed were on losing teams.

    How is that excusing anyone?

It just so happens the falcons are good enough to over come ryans ints, and his td total also helps off set them.

However even the falcons have only squeeked by a few games and turnovers nearly cost them the games.

Turning the ball over with the qb cant be separated from the losing record in most cases

Yeah I had mixed feelings about continuity. I mean, I want progress as the bottom line. Going 1 and done year after year with coaches does get old. I’d like to see a plan and a vision take place. But continuity only seems to work when your successful. Like Oregon Ducks. Chip Kelley is prolly gonna leave after this year, then slowly other coaches. I garun-damn-tee you Oregon will regress before it can rise again if that happens.
In DA’s case, it seemed like the team had more FIRE, and played harder in the beginning of the season and actually seemed to get WORSE as time goes on. That is NOT the kind of progress I’m looking for.
If a coach goes 2-14, then 6-10, and the 3rd year goes 9-7….Why fire him cause they didn’t get to the playoffs for 3 straight years. That’s the continuity I’m talking about….Progress….better, better, continually improving.

    I say “eFF” it…moving on….Next coach UP ! ! !

Knapp needs to take a look at how to utilize more players in more sets.
The first game for Reece damn near killed him.
Freakin New England hardly uses the same players from game to game.
Have we ever used a different TE for anything?

Other teams know EXACTLY what’s coming. Hue could mix it up, Cable could mix it up. Knapp is unwilling or just clueless.

Oh 3rd and long ? – in that instance we do one of two things – hand off draw play to get crushed. And the bread and butter play – pass 3 yards shy of the stick – then punt.

Oh DMAC in the backfield… C’mon DMAC just one cut and go!

ALL you can do is get his opinion on why Cam Newton has struggled to win 5 games 2nd year in a row, while guys like Luck leads them to playoffs in his first year, why Griffin isn’t making playoffs, for all the million picks Washington gave up for him?”

    Coach Knapp:

    “Let’s have little perspective here”.

Ahhhh yes. “Patience”….”Perspective”….Words that should be emblazoned on our souls.

I sense an urgency of some to see a winner right away with this club. That would be foolhardy.

How could we appreciate what Reggie is doing if winning should come so quickly? No friends, this will take time….and patience before victory will bless us with its sweet kiss.

Reggie has a mission and it will take many years of patience and understanding before it is eventually accomplished.

Like a fine artisan weaving a quilt, this quilt will be built of championship fiber…one painstaking seam at a time.

Much like the respected Betsy Ross, who labored tirelessly over the weaving of our American flag, so too Reggie continues his own “weaving” of what will become a championship team.

What we are seeing this season is to be expected. We are only at the intial stages of what will turn out to be a quite lengthy and time consuming process.

Next yr. will be another “throw away” year. Much like an accomplished seamstress discards the remnants of fabric she does not intend on using.

Yr’s 3 and 4 the rebuild begins in earnest, with a full complement of draft picks and salary cap space to continue the process.

Yr’s 5 and 6 will see some of the growth of the organziation and perhaps consecutive 6 win seasons to brighten our skies.

Yr. 7 will continue to the trend of a winning team being built. Perhaps to the tune of 7 wins if luck should be so kind as to pay a visit.

Yr. 8 and 9 should see .500 seasons and with a sprinkling of stardust by year 10, a winning record for us to enjoy.

Yes friends, keep your fingers crossed. By year 10 we should see a measure of success. I predict a winning record by then.

Subsequent yr’s. may yield trips to the playoffs so that by year 16 or 17, we may be poised for a deep run.

I can’t wait. But I must. We all must.

    “Ten….and then” friends.

SMITH is still a young Player with plenty of Knowledge. Probaly better then drafting a qb at this point.

No Qb in this draft look like they are worth taking before the 4th round. We dont have the luxury of picks to waste one on a qb .. unless REGGIE Really likes one. Scouts have been at Collin Kleins games alot too.
