Allen on McClain: ‘There’s going to be consequences to his actions’

Raiders coach Dennis Allen was peppered with questions about middle linebacker Rolando McClain on Thursday. To little avail. Allen offered little insight into what precipitated McClain missing practice the past two days and vowed to remain tight-lipped.
Allen did say that the Raiders asked McClain to stay away from practice today, and McClain complied. Beyond that, not much else other than the fact that “there’s going to be consequences to his actions.”
What those actions were, Allen wouldn’t say.
“We have to make a decision, and I really don’t want to get into the details of what we’re going to do,” Allen said.
When pressed, Allen said the decision will be an organizational one, meaning owner Mark Davis and general manager Reggie McKenzie will be involved on some level.
Allen said he spoke with McClain today and that McClain was not present at the team’s facility in Alameda. McClain still is on the team’s 53-man roster.
Someone asked Allen if it wouldn’t just be in the team’s best interest to get things over with and waive McClain sooner rather than later. And whether letting the situation linger sends the wrong signal.
“I’m not sure what signal anybody’s looking for,” Allen said. “We’re going to make a decision, and that’s what we’re going to do.”
McClain could not be reached for contact.

As I posted earlier the Raiders may very well be pulling a Lance Kiffin or Mike Vick and trying to get some of their money back. It now seems painfully apparent that McClain was PURPOSEFULLY doing nothing out there and being insubordinate. I don’t know if he is going to another NFL team any time soon.

I will say this about Tyrann Mathieu. Raiders need playmakers in the worst way on D. Ya he smoked.. So did Randy Moss and Tim Lincecum. You just gotta tell him to chill on that ish.
Raiders brought in a bunch of Front office guys suppose to mentor these players. Reggie took a chance on Brandon Underwood who did 3x worse then Tyrann.
Ya he is 5ft 9 175 pounds.. but he could add 15 pounds to his frame. Brandon flowers is a pro bowl player and not that big.
JOSELIO HANSEN has been playing well for the Raiders. In two years of play Tyrann did it all. PUNT RETURNER, INTS, 11 forced fumbles and was a HEISMAN FINALIST.
Enough guys like Giordano, or COye francies, Philip adams crap.

Toddy Mcshay says Tyrann with be early 4th rounder or later 3rd. I can see someone like the lions using an early 3rd on him.
College football live said he was last weighin in at 177 in the spring practices. He can easily get to 190. No doubt he will bulk up.. He is not DVD gonna stay at the same weight. TYRANN is not afraid to tackle either.. he gonna be going at them ankles. He had no problem taking down Cam Newton when he was at Auburn
Joselio Hanson is 5ft 9 185 pounds. Dude has been a good player for the Raiders in the slot.
Crazy the refs didnt give him that play in the bengal game. Not to mention didnt everyone here love STERLING MOORE? the guy was 5ft 9 185 pounds and didnt have half the college career as Tyrann did.

I heard an actually good caller. RAIDER DEE said SMITH is more suited for the Rollouts.. and WEST COAST system then Palmer. He would shred the D up with that offense.
Carson gonna get 16 million dollars next year. Thats alot of a qb that cant even scramble for a 1st down every once in a while

The honey badger was one of the best defensive players in college football during the 2011 season. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and had a massive impact for the Tigers. Mathieu plays much bigger than his measurements, and anyone who watched LSU the past two seasons can’t help but see that he is a pure football player with off-the-charts instinct.
Mathieu led the Tigers in tackles last year with 76. The sophomore also had 7.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, two interceptions and nine passes broken up. LSU lined him up as an outside corner, slot corner and safety. He was very dangerous in the slot. Additionally, Mathieu served as a punt returner in 2011, averaging 16 yards per return with two brought back for touchdowns.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pounder was a dynamic playmaker for the Tigers since Day 1. As a freshman, Mathieu compiled 57 tackles with 8.5 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, two interceptions, seven passes broken up and two interceptions. ”

DA will be here next season, but any coach not smart enough to fit a scheme to maximize the use of his players shouldn’t be a coach in an important coordinator or HC position.
You have to be creative, adaptive etc. Otherwise, if you don’t have the right personnel for your scheme you believe in you belly flop like we’re doing.

That last one raised some eyebrows among teammates, many of whom weren’t that close to the often-standoffish McClain in the first place.
McClain didn’t make enough plays on the field for a 3-8 team to worry about his absence, and the sense I get is the players just want to put the issue behind them. Whether it was something that happened Wednesday or just McClain himself.

Nothing “really bad” had to happen except for a guy who was dogging it not liking it when he was called ut for it or perhaps he cursed a coach.
Why the surprise from anyone here? McClain gave every indication of being anti-social from the get-go and he NEVER, not even in an exhibition game showed any talent that suggested he be taken above the 5th round or so.
