Allen on McClain: ‘There’s going to be consequences to his actions’

By Steve Corkran
Thursday, November 29th, 2012 at 3:11 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen was peppered with questions about middle linebacker Rolando McClain on Thursday. To little avail. Allen offered little insight into what precipitated McClain missing practice the past two days and vowed to remain tight-lipped.
Allen did say that the Raiders asked McClain to stay away from practice today, and McClain complied. Beyond that, not much else other than the fact that “there’s going to be consequences to his actions.”
What those actions were, Allen wouldn’t say.
“We have to make a decision, and I really don’t want to get into the details of what we’re going to do,” Allen said.
When pressed, Allen said the decision will be an organizational one, meaning owner Mark Davis and general manager Reggie McKenzie will be involved on some level.
Allen said he spoke with McClain today and that McClain was not present at the team’s facility in Alameda. McClain still is on the team’s 53-man roster.
Someone asked Allen if it wouldn’t just be in the team’s best interest to get things over with and waive McClain sooner rather than later. And whether letting the situation linger sends the wrong signal.
“I’m not sure what signal anybody’s looking for,” Allen said. “We’re going to make a decision, and that’s what we’re going to do.”
McClain could not be reached for contact.

Reports say McClain threatened Dennis Allen by telling him he’d be waiting to beat him up in the parking lot. Luckily for DA, McClain was waiting in the wrong parking lot

Then he realized he was in the wrong parking lot. So he jogged to the correct one, just in time to see DA’s tail lights.

    Nice

Damn, hope Rolando gets to him sooner than later, and Im sure Mark feels the same way.

Dysfunction function, that’s how the raiders function. Lol Haha it’d be funny if the raiders haven’t released McClain because it was DA’s idea to waive him but Mark stepped in like, wait DA’s not gonna be here at the season and vetoed it. Lol Why else keep McClain after all of this? May be a sign DA is on his way out.

If he did I would definitely say there is HOPE for Mark Davis.
I hate this management stafff coaches the entire crew. Get them the hell outta Oakland Now.

Lol. If you really want all them out of Oakland together, I’m sure they’d be glad to leave the A’s baseball field when opportunity arises.

Send that jacka$$ packing. Get him on the first plane back to the sticks.

From Vic Tarfur – SF Chornicle…

“I’m gonna weigh my options. Looking forward to playing for an actual ‘team.’ ”

That last one raised some eyebrows among teammates, many of whom weren’t that close to the often-standoffish McClain in the first place.

McClain didn’t make enough plays on the field for a 3-8 team to worry about his absence, and the sense I get is the players just want to put the issue behind them. Whether it was something that happened Wednesday or just McClain himself.

Nothing “really bad” had to happen except for a guy who was dogging it not liking it when he was called ut for it or perhaps he cursed a coach.

Why the surprise from anyone here? McClain gave every indication of being anti-social from the get-go and he NEVER, not even in an exhibition game showed any talent that suggested he be taken above the 5th round or so.

Suspend McClain and keep his paychecks; we are examining his contract and the new cba to just that.

As I posted earlier the Raiders may very well be pulling a Lance Kiffin or Mike Vick and trying to get some of their money back. It now seems painfully apparent that McClain was PURPOSEFULLY doing nothing out there and being insubordinate. I don’t know if he is going to another NFL team any time soon.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What a pile of bull crap!
No coach should put put up with this stuff. Clain goes on Facebook to whine about the team?!
Suspend him at a cost of $970,000 a day to MCCLAIN!
    And then waive him!

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

    *McClain goes on Facebook.

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

Man! Was I wrong about McClain!
That guy is about twelve years old.

  • wishbone

Being tight lipped and secretive works when you are Al Davis or a proven winning. When you are a rookie HC, GM & Owner you like like you have no clue as to what you are doing. This organization went from being on the verge of the playoffs to might not be able to be Alabama. What a freakin joke. Idiot owner hires idiot GM hires idiot head coach & worthless free agent = totally f**ked up organization.
