McFadden practicing again, McClain still on roster

Running back Darren McFadden is practicing today for the second straight day as he steams toward a return from a high-ankle sprain that sidelined him for three games.
McFadden is running around, making cuts, catching passes and looking like the McFadden we saw the first eight games of the season.
Coach Dennis Allen said he is hopeful of McFadden being in good enough condition to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
At this point, there’s no indication that McFadden won’t be healed enough to resume the starting job.
Backup Mike Goodson also is at practice for a second straight day. Like McFadden, he is recovering from a high-ankle sprain.
McFadden is expected to speak with the media today and provide an update on how he feels.

– Middle linebacker Rolando McClain is not at practice today, but he is still on the 53-man roster.
For now, anyway. The Raiders have until 1 p.m. today to waive McClain for it to count in the view of the league office.
It’s also possible that the Raiders could suspend McClain for up to four games for conduct detrimental to the team. That would preclude the Raiders from having to pay McClain 1/17 of his $970,000 base salary for each game he is suspended.
We will know more once Allen speaks with the media around 1 p.m.

– Defensive tackle Richard Seymour (hamstring) and defensive end Jack Crawford (toe) are the only others players not at practice.
Seymour has missed the past three games. Crawford was out for last Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

– No word yet from the Raiders on whether they sold at least 85 percent of the tickets for Sunday’s game. That is the minimum required for the game to be televised locally.
All eight of Oakland’s regular-season home games in 2011 and the first five this season were televised locally.
If the Raiders reach that threshhold for the Browns game, then it’s safe to assume they will do so for the Broncos game Dec. 6 and the Chiefs game Dec. 16.

Jackson got the opening coin flip wrong his lst game. Jackson could not score points in the second half of games for almost half the season. Jackson did not go for two up 12 points against Detroit and lost by one. Jackson did not kick a chip shot FG to be up 3 possessions, and then almost lost. Jackson could never ever get control of his team. Jackson had the most penalized team in LEAGUE HISTORY. That is ineptness to the Nth degree.

I hate to break it to you hard core debaters in here but your BOTH right!

Its a roster void of talent at every level and so thin to the point where our second string guys would not even make the practice squad for other teams.

Its also coaching because we have all seen what a guy like Harbaugh can do in one year and change the attitude of a team. Yes thy have talent but Harbaugh gets more out of his talent than Singletary did I think that’s obvious.

So its BOTH lack of talent and poor coaching combined with a rookie owner and a rookie GM what else did we expect really…….I myself blame Palmer for all of this!

    —-

Oline is lot easier to coach up , on D you can’t coach average Dline to good pass rushers, we know coaching can make a lot of difference on O side evidenced by 11 year, that’s why premium is placed on Pass rushers, now it’s the 2nd most wanted commodity in the nfl behind QB, the Niners D was great with M Singletary and Nolan, but since they were D coaches they didn’t know what to do with the O, comes in Offensive coach, who asked his qb to play mistake free football and here they are

This team was seriously oversold in the preseason. Even the National outlets had us competing for the AFC title this year. The Raiders need a winner like Elway to be the face of the franchise.

    Winners attract winners, like Manning.

    Scrubs attract scrubs.

This year’s draft is not a deep one. So if next year’s Raiders are going to be competitive Reggie is going to have to make improvement through free agency.

Marbles will have to attract talent who buy what he is selling.

    Doubtful.

    Scrubs attract scrubs.

    Winners attract winners.

Yeah i was one of those who bought into it , but then i realized this was all fluke , we have beaten only 1 good team over the last 2 years, yeah i get that we could have scored more if Hue was here, but unless your O is elite and your D is average you ain’t beating good teams, or you have Elite D and then you can use average O to beat good teams, we weren’t going to become an elite O anytime soon and our D isn’t even average so put down the pipe and just live with the reality that our talent level s8cks and yes i want G Knapp gone as well but getting a better coach alone wouldn’t put us over the top , this team needs serious talent and depth at every position

“I haven’t talked to him about it yet,” Pryor said. “I heard about it, but I haven’t heard it personally, firsthand.”= — pyror on allen designating a role for him

This is another example of god awful mismanagement of talent or personnel. I can see why some question Allen’s head coaching potential, and his ability to relate to players.

Why not engage in direct conversation with pyor? tell the young man that has worked his tail off in service to the team and the allen the coach what you have outlined for him! If you dont have anything lined up for him then tell him that directly?

This is why people dont respect allen in the locker room apparently. he has the bill callahan disease, and players have to find out what is in there future through media speculation and interviews?!?!

How can pryor mentally prepare for what ever role he is designated for without having advance knowledge of what is expected?

Leaving a young hungry qb dangling in the wind is unfair and lacks professionalism, and shows a lack of respect for the players.

This game in Cleveland will be very telling as far as allen is concerned. Throwing romac off the practice field may have been warranted but it could also cause players to roll there eyes. Did he engage romac directly about issues before the incident?

If players come out sunday and look flat or disinterested it will be proof allen has no allies in the locker room and every head coach needs them.

Hu jack had JC and Seymour

    Gruden had gannon and brown

Who in that locker room stands with allen, or has he simply alienated his players until they ave tuned him out?

pryor is number three, but has not been informed by the coach if he will be active or not!!!

How can pryor or any payer respect him?

I am looking forward to sunday, this will tell me, you, big mack and davis everything we need to know about allen.
